USA Today carried a front page story yesterday titled, "Teen Pregnancy, Abortion Rates Rise," which says the teen pregnancy rate rose 3% in the US during the last reporting period, with abortions rising during the same period.

What caused this?

According to this front page article, it was caused by one man and one national policy. Who is the man and what is the policy?

Some of you guessed at least part of the answer.

That's right, former President George W. Bush caused this. And it was his policy of funding abstinence sex education that facilitated it.

So the problem that we are now faced with is that George Bush facilitated a program that is both morally right and provides the only absolute method of birth control and an excellent method of SDT prevention. And the reason it is a "problem" is found in the associations of those who did the analysis and made the assumptions.

The Guttmacher Institute did the study and did the analysis. And made the assumptions.

Here's what USA Today and now other news sources, including your own local news, is not telling you. And it's relevant.

The Alan Guttmacher Institute is the research arm of Planned Parenthood. USA Today chose not to tell you that part of the story.

There's more.

Allan Guttmacher, who founded the Institute, is a former president of Planned Parenthood and former vice-president of the American Eugenics Society. He also founded the Association for the Study of Abortion.

It is the Guttmacher Institute that is saying the increase is related to a focus on abstinence only sex education programs under the Bush Administration.

Lawrence Finer, with Guttmacher, told USA Today, "The focus on abstinence and the shifts in pregnancy occurred about the same time."

Many assumptions were made in arriving at the conclusions that have been reported as fact, not only by USA Today, but all the other news sources that carried their story, right off their script.

I called one of our network affiliates last night as they ran this story and asked why they didn't report the relationship of Guttmacher, Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry to the story. The news producer told me personally that they didn't know about all that and had taken the story and had broadcasted it off the script of another story broadcasted by someone else. Incredible.

My impression was that they really didn't care about the other part of the story. They thanked me for watching their station.

Guttmacher, making these assumptions and conclusions are about as creditable as my son telling you I am the smartest dad in the world.

Valerie Huber, with the National Abstinence Education Association, says she thinks this is yet another opportunity, "to throw a barb at abstinence education."

I agree. Abstinence education is a problem for the abortion business.

Abortion on demand is feeling the pressure. Things are changing and the world's leading abortion company stands to lose hundreds of millions of dollars, in addition to the ideological cultural battle over abortion.

Politicians have heard from the public in regard to taxpayer funded abortions under the Obama health care plan, and the public does not support it.

While Planned Parenthood tries to expand their abortion business, the public is moving in the other direction.

Focus on the Family published a survey late yesterday afternoon that says, based on a new Knights of Columbus-Marist survey, 58% of those in the "Millennial" age group (18-29) agreed with the statement that abortion is "morally" wrong. They also found 51% of Baby Boomers (45-64) and 60% of Gen Xer's (30-44) feel the same.

This is the shift that is occurring. Support for life is on the rise in America. Planned Parenthood and their allies such as NARAL and others, and the politicians who hand Planned Parenthood hundreds of millions of dollars every year are standing in the light, so to speak. And the public is not comfortable with what they see.

Also, yesterday, Focus publicly announced they will air a pro-life ad about Tim Tebo, one of the best college football players in the nation and his mother's decision not to abort him. The ad will run twice during the Super Bowl.

Pro-abortion advocates, mostly attached to Planned Parenthood in some paternal way, started the attack last night. It will continue.

Be prayerful. Be vigilant. Be discerning.

God bless you.
