The Season Of Destruction
With far left confidence in President Obama on decline---even NBC's Chris Matthews was critical of him yesterday, the personal rather than political attacks are under way.
The M.O. is always the same, people of Christian faith running for office are particularly high value targets.
This field of Republican candidates give the far left multiple targets.
Herman Cain found himself the object of their attention this past weekend, even though many former female employees and colleagues stepped forward to reveal a very different Herman Cain than the press is defining.
But it was the attack on Michele Bachmann that hurt my heart. Whether or not she is your pick of the candidates, this hurts.
The recent attack on Bachmann was not on her policies, not even about her husband this time, but on her faith, her relationship with God---the essence of what and who she is.
In Matt Taibbi's Rolling Stone profile of Bachmann, he claims that Bachmann's efforts to portray herself as a righteous and religious culture warrior prompt additional questions and skepticism.
This is an example from his article, which is read by millions of people:
"Bachmann's story, to hear her tell it, is about a suburban homemaker who is chosen by God to become a politician who will restore faith and family values to public life and do battle with secular humanism. But by the time you've finished reviewing her record of lies and embellishments and contradictions, you'll have no idea if she actually believes in her own divine inspiration, or whether it's a big con job. Or maybe both are true -- in which case this hard-charging challenger for the GOP nomination is a rare breed of political psychopath, equal parts crazed Divine Wind kamikaze-for-Jesus and calculating, six-faced Machiavellian prevaricator. Whatever she is, she's no joke."
When you act on what you believe God is calling you to do, you make yourself very vulnerable to these kinds of attacks. I personally discovered this on the local level following the R-71 campaign. I also discovered these kinds of attacks can come from both the secular press, and sometimes, unfortunately, from within the Christian camp.
We see this spirit manifested often on the posted comments on this blog.
There is a cost associated with firm beliefs and moral convictions, this is why we see people of faith and sometimes even Christian leaders deferring to a relativistic, silent position on the most critical moral and social issues of our times.
May God help us.

DOMA Up For Repeal Next Week In Congress
The committee will debate whether to recognize homosexual "marriages" under federal law, at the same time eliminating protections for states that do not recognize homosexual "marriages."
There are 10 Democrats on the 18-member committee. Each of the 10 not only support Feinstien's bill, but are co-sponsors.
Quite honestly, it is inconceivable to me that this bill could ever pass the House of Representatives, thanks to your vote in last November's election. House Speaker John Boehner (R) has never wavered on marriage, nor will he this time. The House will kill this bill, even if it passes the Senate.
However, this is an appropriate time to send the committee members a message, including those Republicans who defend marriage.
I have listed the names of the committee, with a sample or suggested letter or email message.
The following Senators should hear from you, regardless of their Party affiliation:
Jeff Sessions (R) Alabama
Jon Kyl (R) Arizona
Richard Blumenthal (D) Connecticut
Christopher Coons (D) Delaware
Chuck Grassley (R) Iowa
Richard Durbin (D) Illinois
Amy Klobuchar (D) Minnesota
Charles Schumer (D) New York
Tom Coburn (R) Oklahoma
Sheldon Whitehouse (D) Rhode Island
Lindsey Graham (R) South Carolina
John Cornyn (R) Texas
Orrin Hatch (R) Utah
Mike Lee (R) Utah
Patrick Leahy (D) Vermont
Herb Kohl (D) Wisconsin
Mitch McConnell (R) Kentucky
We should also affirm our support of marriage to Speaker of the House John Boehner (R) Ohio
The following is a letter that National Organization for Marriage has suggested. You can use it as a guide or as is.
Dear_________
I am writing to urge you to oppose Sen. Feinstein's bill to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, currently pending before the Senate Judiciary Committee (S.598).
The Defense of Marriage Act represents the clear will of the American people, protecting the right of states from coast to coast to recognize marriage as the union of a husband and wife.
The American people have clearly spoken when it comes to marriage, rejecting same-sex marriage in all 31 states where the question has been put to the ballot. Legislators in 13 additional states have done the same thing.
Like the vast majority of Americans, I believe marriage is the union of a husband and a wife. I do not want activist judges to take away our right to define marriage . . . or to redefine marriage so that schoolchildren are taught that their parents are bigots.
Please protect DOMA and defend the rights of states to protect marriage as the union of a husband and wife. I urge you to oppose S.598 and instead work to ensure that the rights of American voters are respected, and that marriage remains the union of one man and one woman.
Thank you.

First Lady Commits U.S. Supreme Court
First Lady Michelle Obama told an audience in Chicago this week that the justices her husband appointed to the US Supreme Court---Kagan and Sotomayor, will protect the right to "love whomever we choose."
She went on to say, "Let's not forget what it meant when my husband appointed those two brilliant Supreme Court justices, and for the first time in history our daughters and our sons watched three women take their seat at the nation's highest court."
However, what followed was most concerning---perhaps terrifying.
"But more importantly," she said, "let us never forget the impact their decisions will have on our lives for decades to come---on our privacy and our security, on whether we can speak freely, worship openly, and, yes, love whomever we choose." Thus committing them to a far left progressive agenda, similar to that of Justice Ginsburg.
Indeed. That is exactly what is at stake. And it's terrifying to think what will transpire in America if we continue on the path this President has defined for another 4 years.
He will re-make America in the image of some second rate, failing European style socialist nation. Free enterprise will be a distant memory. And he will blame someone else as he accepts his position with the UN.
Religious freedoms will continue to be trampled and the sanctity of life will be further devalued by the expansion of abortion and those enterprises that administer it. Think Planned Parenthood with multiplied $millions.
Not only DOMA, but other laws that honor and support marriage as between one man and one woman will be ignored, gutted or replaced to allow unrestrained expansion, affirmation and normalization of the homosexual lifestyle and agenda.
Our military, having been used as a social experiment, will have been greatly weakened by reduced readiness.
Our public education will have continued to spiral downward as it continues to be used for indoctrination for the far left progressive causes. Anti-Americanism will have advanced. And America will be bankrupt. Morally and fiscally.
"Let us never forget the impact the President and his people will have on our lives for decades to come," should he be re-elected.
Let us disagree and debate who best represents our beliefs and aspirations as we consider our candidate for the next President, but may we not forget what is really at stake, and when the media manipulated debate is over and you, and you, and you, and me begin to choose who will be president, may we come together, so that America can be delivered from these terrible times of trial and tribulation and once again become the city on a hill, the guiding light, the testimony of God's blessing, the exceptional nation.
Yes, Mrs. Obama, we will not forget.
Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Prayerful. Be Blessed. Be Active.

Who Got The R-71 Names?
They got CD disks into nearly all the hands who where waiting for them---for whatever purpose, during the time between the judge's ruling and the 9th Court accepting our appeal.
The Secretary's blog reported that 30 discs had been sent out, while the Seattle PI reported that 34 had been sent.
The head of Public Records, Brenda Galarza, told me she released 33 sets of names.
The 9th Court accepted our appeal and the names are once again sealed, however, all but 2 individuals who requested them, have received them.
I was struck by the hostility shown by Attorney General Rob McKenna's office toward those of us who were deposed in this case. I was not prepared for the hostility I and others met in Attorney General McKenna's office. Consequently, I was not as surprised at how he and Secretary Sam got the names out in record time, even though they knew the request for an appeal was being presented at the moment they were delivering the names.
The Seattle PI says Reed and McKenna have voiced confidence they will prevail in the appeal.
In a sense, they already have prevailed. They have released the names to press people who have requested them, but more importantly and concerning to me, they have released them to homosexual organizations and homosexual activists who have promised to "contact" and "have a conversation" with those who signed in defense of natural, biblical, historical marriage.
So, who received the names?
I have posted my complete communication with Secretary Reed's office of Public Records. You will note that most all those requesting and receiving the names did so under an individuals name. Some are reporters with the Seattle Times and other newspapers---some represent their activist organizations. I received the following email from Brenda Galarza at the Public Records office:

Subject: R-71 Requests- Archives
On a request from Elections, we created a list of names based from our Revenue rporting and need to strike two names from our earlier list (Dashiell and McLaughlin)- these individuals called about the list but ultimately did not purchase a DVD.
Sorry for the confusion. Please let me know if you have any questions.
