As The World Burns...President Obama : "I Am Proud Of My Accomplishments"

President Obama has said that elevating the image of the United States around the world was one of his proudest foreign policy accomplishments.

In February, Obama said, “One of the proudest things of my three years in office is helping to restore a sense of respect for America around the world, a belief that we are not just defined by the size of our military.”

Three years ago in Cairo, the President stressed his leadership would be dramatically different than former President George W. Bush’s: “I have come here to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world; one based upon mutual interest and mutual respect; and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition.”

This week, as Libya, Egypt and other cities around the globe burned, protesters in Afghanistan burned Obama in effigy and cable news shows ran footage of many burning U.S. flags around the world.

November 21, 2007. State Senator and candidate Barack Obama, "The day I'm inaugurated, Muslim hostility will ease." Please watch this short radio interview clip.

White House press secretary, Jay Carney, last Friday, "'This is not a case of protests directed at the United States at large or at U.S. policy, this is in response to a video that is offensive to Muslims."

But did the video really create this worldwide chaos? Or is it merely an excuse to kill Americans?

And an even more poignant question is, "Will the Obama administration affirm themselves and their positions by merely punishing the guy, whom the press is now identifying as a 'Christian' filmmaker, laying all the blame at his feet?"

What about free speech?

What about equality and fairness and tolerance---all favorite words of the administration?

What about films like, "Blue Like Jazz" that denigrate biblical evangelical Christianity? Or "Easy A" that mocks biblical morality and those who believe it?

And what about filmmaker Kal Penn who once made a lot of money making films that mocked Christians, then went to work for the Obama administration as a White House liaison, but has now returned to making films. He says he left the White House because, "You can make more money making fun of Christians than in a public service job."

What accountability is assigned to these folks?

Lee Smith at "The Weekly Standard" puts it in what I feel is a proper and reasoned perspective. He says, "The Video Didn't Do It" and explains that "Carney's comments lie outside the range of plausible spin, even by the Obama administration standards."

He says if the administration actually believes what they are saying, they are "delusional."

Our country and culture has lost its way . The foundations are crumbling. Our very identity is questioned.

With great concern. God help us.
