Want To Become A Christian? 30 Days Notice Required

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
As the resolve to silence Christians stiffens and the mission to strip every vestige of Judeo-Christian values and principles intensifies, we are beginning to see various ways in how this anti-Christian bias  manifests itself.

The act of sharing one's personal faith in Jesus Christ, as He has instructed us to do, has been known as sharing one's Christian testimony---or evangelizing.

It has been re-labeled. It is now called "Proselytizing."

The US military is on high alert to restrict "proselytizing" by our troops or by their chaplains.

Public education is not only indoctrinating America's children with an anti-Christian bias and secular worldview but are taking every opportunity to silence Christian expression or testimony.

One of the most egregious actions I've seen comes by way of a new law that requires people to seek government permission before converting to a new religion. And it must be done 30 days in advance, or face prison time.

NBC Miniseries: Hillary For President In 2016

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

NBC is ready to begin production on a miniseries based on the political career of former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton.

Clearly it is conceived to support her run for president in 2016---and to sugarcoat or redefine some of the unpleasant facts and gaffes surrounding her political career and personal life.

Bob Greenblatt, NBC Entertainment Chairman, donated thousands of dollars to Hillary's 2008 presidential bid.

They lost to Barack Obama.

They don't want to lose again.

This possibility certainly raises political concerns, but for me, the moral and spiritual concerns are much more troubling.

NBC has already cast the attractive actress Diane Lind for the leading role.

The series will likely cover or polish up the Whitewater investigation, Hillarycare, Travelgate and the episodes that led to President Clinton's impeachment.

But there are 5 things that will surely not be included but should be remembered by people of faith and conservatives.

Here's a few facts and thoughts as the press and the entertainment industry prepare to elect their choice for the next president of the United States.

WA Representatives Vote To Fund Atheist Chaplains

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
The war on Christians and Christianity rages on.

The United States Military is one of several fronts in this war.

Friday I wrote a blog about the recent attack on Chaplain Lt. Col. Reyes at the Air Force base in Alaska.

Chaplain Reyes wrote an inspirational Christian essay on the base website. Atheists immediately contacted the Pentagon and within 4 hours, the Air Force had removed the essay and reprimanded the chaplain.

National atheist groups are now demanding more. They say the reprimand was not enough---Reyes must be further punished.

Now we have learned that there has been an effort in Congress to fund "atheist chaplains."

And several Washington State Representatives supported the idea.

Military Attacks Another Christian Chaplain

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

President Dwight D. Eisenhower said during a 1954 speech, "I am delighted that our veterans are sponsoring a movement to increase our awareness of God in our daily lives. In battle, they learned a great truth that there are no atheists in the fox holes."

The "no atheists in the foxholes" statement is said to have been made first by Catholic priest Father William Cummings. It is said Eisenhower was quoting him.

There may not be any atheists in foxholes, but there are some here at home and they are relentlessly working to remove any vestige of God from our military and our culture.

President Eisenhower would be shocked. So should we. We should also be informed.

Our Military leaders continue to act on command to the atheist's orders.

This time it is toward a Christian chaplain who quoted Father William Cummings, who was quoted by President Eisenhower.

Sticking Pins In Gov. Rick Perry Voodoo Doll

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Texas Governor Rick Perry has signed into law a bill that will restrict abortions in the state, create more oversight on Planned Parenthood abortion clinics, and likely shut down some of the clinics as a result of the new law.

A Houston seamstress is now making and selling Voodoo dolls of the Governor. She is donating the proceeds to Planned Parenthood. And she is receiving support from her peers in the "women's health" movement.

Once again this underscores Planned Parenthood's obsession with the industry of death.

Here's the details and some thoughts.

A Christian Church And Its Unholy Alliance

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
The memo begins: "I ask God that you, your families and those whom you love around you are in the best of conditions, pleasing God, glorified His name be."

And it ends with: "May God reward your good and keep you for His Daw'a."

Signed: "Your brother/ Mohamed Akram."

I'll share the purpose of this communication later.

Why would a "Christian church denomination" align itself with the Muslim Brotherhood?

What is the agenda of the alliance?

And what is the true purpose of the Christian church?

Senator Ted Cruz: Finding Purpose

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
In a culture now dominated by relativism, it's tough for people, particularly young people, to find purpose in life because everything in this world is transitory, nothing is fixed or eternal, including "truth."

In his famous 1953 essay, "The Hedgehog and the Fox," Sir Isaiah Berlin wrote, "The fox knows many things, the hedgehog knows one big thing."

Berlin used this ancient Greek thought to differentiate the vast differences of people and what they believe---their worldview.

He wrote the hedgehog is directed by one big idea or principle, while the fox travels many roads and paths believing that all ideas and principles are different, yet equally valid.

Relativism.

God's eternal Truth creates purpose in people.

Relativism offers a menu of "equal" ideas, leaving the individual to create his own "truth" and destiny, which most often leads to narcissism and personal conflict in regard to moral beliefs.

The story of Texas Senator Ted Cruz is a story of certainty and clarity of purpose taught to him by his father.

Rafael Cruz told CBN's David Brody this story.

New Study: Conservative Social Issues More Important To GOP Base Than Fiscal Issues

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Much has been said about social issues in the political debate in America.

Many in the Republican Party have been suggesting that the Party back off a little on the "divisive" social issues in order to expand the Party so they can win a national election.

Many of us have been saying the primary reason we care and are involved is our deeply held beliefs in regard to the sanctity of life, the protection of natural marriage and family values.

In fact, following a study last Spring by several Republican consultants that hinted that the Party should move away from these issues, a number of leaders of faith based organizations sent a letter to the Party Chairman warning him that to do so would have negative consequences.

Ironically, a new study conducted by two left leaning organizations has found that the conservative social issues are far more important to the Republican Party's future than conservative economic issues.

A Dependent Nation Is A Declining Nation

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Dependency on government is a sure sign of a culture in decline. And dependency has historically always been a ticket to oppression, loss of freedom and liberty, and ultimately, bondage.

The number of Washington State residents receiving food stamps has doubled in the last 5 years.

Washington State had 1.1 million people receiving food stamps from the government last year. That's 1 of every 6 residents.

In a feature article, The Seattle Times is critical of House Republicans for not sustaining or expanding the current levels of food stamp assistance in their passing of the Farm Bill.

While criticizing the Republicans as "not caring," the Times praises the Democrats who want to continue the expansion welfare and food stamps out of "compassion and caring."

The Times says this Congressional fight over food stamps stands out as a "high-relief contrast of values."

Indeed it does, but the "contrast of values" is a very different contrast than what is described in the Times.

Compassion and assistance is a Christian virtue that predates government. Any government. The debate is not about helping people. It's about how we help people.

KOMO News: "Chances are, your local or state police departments have photographs of your car in their files, noting where you were driving on a particular day, even if you never did anything wrong."

Does this make you feel uncomfortable? Or is it just another freedom or liberty slipping away in the name of safety and security?

Here are the details and some things to think about.

WA State 2012 Assisted Suicide Report

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Washington State has released its annual so-called "Death with Dignity Act" report. The report is interesting for what it "does not" say, perhaps more than what it does say.

The report says that Washington's assisted suicide act "allows adult residents in the state with six months or less to live to request lethal doses of medication from physicians."

This and other statements by the State are "oversimplifications" according to a Washington State lawyer.

Attorney Margaret K. Dore takes a look at the report and points out some things that all pro-life people should be aware of.

What position does the Christian Medical and Dental Association take? And why? Are there any exceptions?

And how did we get to this place where life is so devalued?

Is Capitalism Compatible With Christianity?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
This past weekend I stopped by a blueberry farm to pick up a couple of boxes of fresh blueberries.

I got my blueberries and a whole lot more.

In the building located on the farm where customers come to buy the berries, the radio was playing Christian music. I told one of the young guys working there I liked the music. And asked, "Where do you go to church?"

He said he went to an evangelical Lutheran church, but the family who owns the farm go to the Romanian church and quickly introduced me to one of the owners. We said hello. I told him I liked and appreciated the music.

He said, "Don't I know you?" After a moment of conversation he said, "I grew up watching your television program. My parents had it on every morning."

His parents had fled Romania because of the persecution of Christians. They had come to America seeking religious freedom and a better life for their family.

He asked if he could show me something--I said "sure." In an adjoining room in the building about 15 to 20 teenagers were sorting blueberries as they bumped along the sorting table. He said these were kids from the youth group at their church and that they were earning money to pay for a mission trip later this summer. He said they were also earning extra money to take with them to give to the people they are going to minister to.

He said I was so thankful to live in America. He said his family has been able to give a great deal of money to their church, the youth ministries and to foreign missions.

He said, "Capitalism is the friend of Christianity, you can't do this in other countries."

Is Christianity and free market capitalism compatible?

President Asking Employees To Spy On One Another -- Reminds Me Of...

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

The "Cold War" is most often dated from 1947 to 1991.

You may recall that Gerald Ford, in 1976, infamously said in his debate with Jimmy Carter, "There is no Soviet domination of Eastern Europe."

That stunned me when I heard him make that statement.

I can tell you from personal experience there was domination by the Soviets. It was very, very chilly in Poland in 1974.

The Soviet Union had put its evil heel on Poland, and Poland was in the throws of trying to survive---literally survive as a result. They would eventually break the bondage of socialist communism about ten years before "that wall" came down and Ronald Reagan would break the back of the "Evil Empire."

My time in Poland came back to my memory with vivid resolution when I read an article published by McClatchy a few days ago. They are reporting that the President is calling on people to spy on their co-workers and report any unusual activity.

More LGBT Curriculum Coming to Your Public School

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

While our kids are settling into their summer break from school, government run education is busy setting the stage for their next act. They are reloading the cultural gun to begin a new round of indoctrination as soon as the kids return in a few weeks.

At the just completed National Education Association convention, the NEA adopted a business item that I feel all parents and grandparents should be aware of.

The business item encourages members to incorporate into their classroom lessons a curriculum that promotes the homosexual lifestyle and seeks to normalize it.

The business item encourages "all educators to integrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) history, people and issues" into their instructional programs.

This is a heads up for all parents and grandparents with kids in public school. Please be aware and informed.

Republican Leader "Stammers" Over Defunding Obamacare

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
They talk tough when there are minimal consequences---or they're campaigning in their hometown, but when the hard questions are asked---questions that require a simple, clear, definitive, honest answer; they sometimes "stammer."

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., told Fox's Sean Hannity the other evening that President Obama's decision to delay for one year a key requirement of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was "a continuation of what we have begun to call the imperial presidency."

Cantor criticized President Obama for selectively enforcing the law.

Tough words. Tons of tough words. But is there any chance for some action?

Hannity was wondering the same thing and asked, "Since the efforts to repeal Obamacare have failed, would the Republican Congress consider defunding Obamacare?"

The question was simple and honest. The answer was muddled and stammering---indecisive and unclear. But with lots of words.

This issue is bigger than Cantor, but Cantor gave us a clear illustration of how unclear and uncertain the Republican leadership seems to be on too many issues.

Here's what he said:

Report Confirms Hostility In US Military Toward Christians

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
A coalition of legislators and religious freedom advocates warned yesterday about the growing hostility toward Christians serving in the US military and called for a federal statute to protect the religious liberty of troops.

Rep. John Fleming, R-La., said, "There is a long list of things that have been happening in very recent years...those who do most for us---uniformed members---who put their lives on the line and who have done that over 237 years, those who have fought for our religious liberties the most are the ones today who are having those very liberties taken away from them."

Sadly, the most ominous threat to the religious liberties of our military personnel seems to be the President of the United States, himself.

Here are the quotes and actions of those trying to preserve religious liberty for the military and the quotes and actions of those trying to dispense with it.

Homosexuals "Beat-Up" Preacher In Seattle

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
KOMO TV in Seattle is reporting, "A protester holding a sign reading 'repent or else' was attacked by a group of people following a loud argument during 'Pride Fest Sunday' according to Seattle police."

So there was a scuffle between people who hold differing opinions, right?

That's certainly what most people will take from KOMO's story.

However, there is more to the story. And the story does not fit the narrative the news media has created around the "marriage equality" movement.

The person physically assaulted is not actually a "protester," he is a preacher, who preaches the gospel without malice. And has done so on the streets of cities across America for the past 33 years.

The "group of people" KOMO describes are homosexual activists and their supporters.

Here's what really happened, including a video of the physical violence and bullying.

Why People Are Leaving The Republican Party

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Conservatives and people of faith have traditionally felt their most important social issues were best represented by the Republican Party, consequently, most---not all, but most conservatives and people of faith have identified with the GOP.

However, recently those people have begun to feel disaffiliated with the Party. While the Party has sustained a series of political losses in the presidential races and at home in Washington State, the defection, I believe, is about more than merely loosing an election, or 2 or 3.

Winning elections, for absolute certain, is very important to the political process, however there is another component that I have sensed in talking with fellow Republicans in recent years.

Many had hoped that the RNC would find some instructive conclusions in their "Growth and Opportunity Project" study earlier this year.

It didn't happen. Essentially, many felt the study was 100 pages of nothing.

A new study was released last week by Frontier Labs, an independent market research firm. They researched why people are disassociating with the GOP. Their findings will not be surprising, except perhaps to the GOP leadership.

Devious Delay Prior To Independence Day

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

As America prepares to celebrate our independence, the Obama administration made an interesting move late yesterday afternoon.

This statement was sent out from the Treasury Department:

Over the past several months, the Administration has been engaging in a dialogue with businesses – many of which already provide health coverage for their workers – about the new employer and insurer reporting requirements under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). We have heard concerns about the complexity of the requirements and the need for more time to implement them effectively. We recognize that the vast majority of businesses that will need to do this reporting already provide health insurance to their workers, and we want to make sure it is easy for others to do so. We have listened to your feedback. And we are taking action.

The press release from the administration is titled, “Continuing to Implement the ACA in a Careful, Thoughtful Manner.”

I'm certain the administration has indeed "listened to your feedback," insurance providers are bailing and lawsuits are piling up.

The misleading information about the impact of Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) cannot be overstated. I wrote about it yesterday.

Even Senator Harry Reid said Obamacare has the potential to become a "train wreck."

While businesses have a one year reprieve, individuals are not off the hook. We are still on the hook for 2014.

This is a devious move at best. Why now? Some questions and personal thoughts.

Obama's Final Answer: "No" To Conscience

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

After much theater and rhetoric about religious freedom, the father of Obamacare continues to pursue his dreams.

A secularized America.
We welcome your comments, regardless of your view on these issues. However, we do not allow links, that includes your name as a url. Thank you.

The Obama administration has finally lifted the curtain, gotten to the truth and is now officially declaring in the final text of the federal regulation that employers WILL be required to provide women with free sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion inducing drugs.

The final regulation makes no exception at all for individuals or for-profit companies that have moral and religious objections to sterilizations, contraceptives or abortion.

Hobby Lobby has sued the government for their right to religious freedom.

And the non-profits who were promised protection for their religious convictions and matters of conscience---well, they are sort of protected. However, their protection is conditional on their becoming a knowing conduit for their employees to access abortion inducing drugs.

To act on one's conscience, one must become an accomplice.

And the justification for this is stunning, and misleading.

Supreme Court Justice Kennedy Denies Justice To Pro-Marriage Citizens

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Within minutes after the Supreme Court ruled on California's Proposition 8 last week, the state began "marrying" homosexuals.

However, some feel they are doing so illegally.

The Ninth Circuit Court apparently refused to follow the law and the order from the Supreme Court.

And the timing of one of the "marriages" is raising the question, did someone within the Court leak advance information as to what the Court's ruling was going to be?

There is an all out attempt to communicate that "the train has left the station," as they say, regarding the redefinition of marriage in California---it's over, no more can be done to protect marriage.

While the Supreme Court has overruled the will of the people, the marriage issue is far from over. Those of us who stand in defense of marriage do so, not from a philosophical or political belief, but a historical, natural and biblical belief.

An emergency application was filed with Justice Kennedy on Saturday. He responded yesterday.
