It is becoming a familiar story.
It is also a very troubling story.
A very small minority are acting as a majority, while remaking the culture. The homosexual agenda is moving beyond attacking speech to attacking biblical, traditional beliefs. And doing so with the help of a very complicit press.
A few months ago, the attack was focused on Chick-fil A, now it is Barilla, the world's largest pasta maker.
Guido Barilla, CEO of the Parma, Italy based company simply expressed in an interview on Italian radio their belief in the traditional family.
On Italian radio he said, "For us, the 'sacred family' remains one of the company's core values."
He did not state any activist position against redefining marriage, etc., nor did he express any negative comments toward the homosexual lifestyle, he merely stated his personal belief in the traditional family.
For his beliefs, homosexual activists, aided by the press, are launching a worldwide effort to break the back of Barilla.
Here are a few details and some personal thoughts.

Abortionist Dr. Gosnell Claims "Spiritual Innocence" On Murder Charges
This is an example of where the religious left's "social justice" movement can take you.
Abortionist Dr. Kermit Gosnell, remembered for his "house of horrors" abortion clinic in Philadelphia, is telling ABC News, he is "spiritually innocent."
Gosnell, in prison and convicted on several counts of murder and manslaughter, says he believes he is in a "spiritual war" and he tells ABC he believes the other side won.
He says he reads his Bible daily.
ABC News reports, "He believes himself to be innocent ... in this larger spiritual sense. He believes he was performing a service for people that asked him. He believes he was a soldier at war with poverty. He has a sense of righteousness, that whatever rule he broke, it was worth it."
While this reflects a troubled and confused doctor, his thinking is rooted in what we know as the "social justice" movement of the religious left. It began in liberalism, it is now known as secular progressivism.
The "social justice" movement is advancing outreaches on a number of social fronts, driven by a common core belief.

President Obama To UN: Trust Me, If Not America
On Tuesday, President Obama spoke to the United Nations as representatives met from countries around the world.
I personally have a very dim view of the UN, but am very interested in what our President says to the world on our behalf.
The President struck the familiar apologetic tone in his speech, suggesting he will right the errors of past U.S. leadership.
He reassured the global community that under his leadership, the U.S. has "shifted away from a perpetual war footing"---although it was he who was trying to bomb Syria a week or so ago---and promised new limits on America's use of "soldiers, drones and intelligence."
And he said, "The world is more stable than it was five years ago," taking personal credit for the stability.
But it was the impression that he is "bigger than the United States" and perhaps different, that bothers me.
Here's what he said.

Obamacare Creating Unity In America
While it was not the intention of its father, President Obama's health care plan seems to be the prescription needed to bring Americans together at a critical time in our country.
As you know, this past Friday, Congress passed a continuing resolution (CR ) 230-189 that funds the federal government until December 15, but defunds Obamacare.
Wisely, the CR also contains the "Full Faith and Credit Act" which prevents a default if Congress breaches the debt ceiling.
Some of the President's most ardent supporters----far left secular progressives, unions, etc., are finding it very difficult to support his health care plan because as the lights are turned on, it is becoming clear that it will "transform" America by destroying the world's best health care, and it will financially ruin millions of American families and businesses.
Even the leading Democrat in the Senate, Harry Reid, has called it a "train wreck."
As the lights are turned up, so is the volume in opposition.
Obamacare is becoming a vehicle for unity in our country. A rallying point for commonsense.
In fact, the growing voice of dissent seems to be rivaling that of the record-setting fan voice volume at the Seahawk game the other day.
This is only a first step---but it is a big step. And a vitally important one. A step that so-called "moderate" Republican leadership opposed until just days ago. And may still secretly oppose.
However, they have been forced to do the right thing by Senators Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and others who were willing to lead and take the hits. And the most violent hits initially were from some of their own colleagues in the Republican leadership.
I wrote a column about this Monday. If you have not read it, please do. It reveals the intense backstabbing that is coming from within the GOP toward these true conservative leaders who seek to defund Obamacare.
Its very revealing what our elected officials are and are not saying about this.
Is there a formula in this that could be applied in Washington State and elsewhere, where the GOP leadership mirrors the "moderate" leanings of Congressional GOP leadership?

Obama Calls Black Caucus To "Keep Marching" For More Gun Control
On Saturday, President Obama asked the Congressional Black Caucus to "Keep Marching" for more gun control.
And some of them will.
Others in Congress are also marching to this alien drummer.
Nancy Pelosi, on the one year anniversary of the Aurora, Colo. shootings, said this in her press release:
Yes, Pelosi is proposing that Congress should support the Constitution by radically violating it.
However, America is marching to a different cadence on the matter of guns and the Second Amendment.
Does anyone still believe guns alone kill people?
And some of them will.
Others in Congress are also marching to this alien drummer.
Nancy Pelosi, on the one year anniversary of the Aurora, Colo. shootings, said this in her press release:
“In Congress, there can be no more fitting memorial to the lives lost in Aurora, in Newtown, and across the country than a concerted effort to enact commonsense gun safety legislation. We must uphold our oath to ‘protect and defend’ the constitution and all Americans by expanding background checks and keeping dangerous firearms out of the wrong hands.”

Why is the GOP Placating Conservatives While Seeking to Destroy Conservatives?
Yesterday, Chris Wallace, host of "Fox News Sunday," said Republicans in Washington DC are savaging Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) behind Cruz's back prior to his appearance on the Fox News show yesterday.
Cruz was there to talk about de-funding Obamacare.
The Hill, not a conservative voice, says Sen. Cruz has become more popular than ever with conservatives because this past week, he succeeded in forcing Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) to zero out funding for Obamacare in the continuing resolution (CR) to continue funding for the government.
Wallace says, "I will tell you I have never in my years in Washington seen a party so upset with one of its own."
Is the Republican Party trying to placate evangelicals and conservatives, while continuing their misguided quest to elect a "moderate Republican"? And destroy conservatives who happen to get in their way?

Fox Fires Announcer For Pro-Marriage Belief
While Seattle Mayor McGinn and want-to-be mayor Sen. Ed Murray are attacking Chick-fil-A because the owners believe in natural, biblical marriage; suggesting there is no place in Seattle for their company, Fox Sports has fired an announcer because he, too, believes in natural, biblical marriage.
It's a stunning story.
His firing is not related to anything he said on the air---its related to what he "believes."

World Playing Chess: America Playing "Tik-Tac-Toe"
Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, told CNN that Russian President Vladimir Putin “got everything he wanted” out of the situation with Syria, “including taking away the president’s advantage of a guaranteed or at least a credible military strike.”
He said, “I do think Putin’s playing chess, and we’re playing tic-tac-toe."
Rodgers said, "Think about where he is and what he wanted out of Syria. He got everything he wanted, including taking away the president's advantage of a guaranteed or at least a credible military strike.”
He says, “That happened, and it happened this week, and it happened with the framework, of which we don’t really know the conclusion of it.”
Rogers, who should know as chairman of the House Intelligent Committee says, "Putin has more intelligence officers inside the U.S. than at the height of the Cold War.”
“This is a guy that did a crippling cyber attack on the country of Estonia, invaded South Ossetia, the country of Georgia...and is not living up to its nuclear treaty obligations,” Rodgers said.
He said. “Many believe, according to public reports, he’s not living up to his chemical convention obligations, and this is the guy that we put in charge of helping us get out of a sticky wicket here at home, politically, to manage the fight in Syria. He wanted us out of there. He gets to keep his warm water port,” he added. “He gets to keep his military contracts, and he gives breathing space to both Hezbollah, which is fighting on behalf of Assad, and Assad, and he creates a problem for us with al Qaeda operating in the East."
But why are we playing "Tik-Tak-Toe" while the world plays chess? Are they simply smarter than we are? Or is our nation listing so far to the left, that we are abandoning the very principles upon which we were founded?

Why Are Seattle Mayor McGinn and State Sen. Ed Murray So Bigoted?
Chick-fil-A restaurant is planning to open a new restaurant in Seattle.
Opening a new quick serve restaurant in the nation's 12th largest media market; home to Boeing, Mircosoft, Amazon, Nordstrom, Starbucks and a host of other companies, isn't generally a big deal.
Right?
Wrong.
Usually cities welcome new businesses. They create new jobs and more choice for the residents.
The welcoming mat is not out, nor is the opportunity of "choice" being celebrated.
Both Seattle Mayor McGinn and State Senator Ed Murray, who wants to be mayor, are expressing bigotry and intolerance toward Chick-fil-A.
And there seems to be some regret that there are no land use codes that could be used to stop the restaurant from doing business in the city.
Why are these two "public servants" so bigoted? So un-welcoming? So intolerant?

Public School Bans 10 Year Old From Writing About God
Following the assignment her teacher had given, 10 year old Erin Shead began to write about someone she really looks up to.
When Erin's teacher received her written assignment, she told the 10 year-old it was unacceptable, she couldn't write about looking up to that person.
She had picked the wrong person to look up to. Erin had written about God. Following the rejection, Erin chose Michael Jackson.
The teacher had no problem with that choice.
As long as the 10 year old chose an accused child molester to look up to over choosing God, there was no problem.
WREG TV channel 10 has now picked up the story.

Genocide vs. Infanticide: An Inconvenient "Truth"
Last week Pastor Robert Jeffress of the 11,000-member Dallas First Baptist Church wrote a column for the Dallas Morning News in which he asks, "Why is Syrian genocide intolerable while US infanticide is protected?"
He wrote, "Why is genocide in Syria intolerable while infanticide in our country is not only permissible but considered a constitutional right?"
He asks by what moral authority do we deny the leader of another nation his "freedom of choice" to exterminate his own people, yet empower our own citizenry to kill their children and even provide hundreds of millions of tax dollars to Planned Parenthood to carry out the executions?
Dr. Jeffres says, "I can hear the liberal howl across North Texas as I type these words. 'There is no moral equivalency between Assad’s heinous acts against his own people and the personal, painful choice of a mother to terminate a pregnancy.' But, alas, there is."

Putin Mocks America And Our Beliefs In New York Times Column
Some are saying that this matter with Syria and how the President has handled it is "incoherent," while others are saying it has been "humiliating".
In fact, a Democratic strategist says, "This has been one of the most humiliating episodes in Presidential history." He has asked to remain anonymous.
Now Vladimir Putin has stepped into the leadership vacuum created by our own President, and provided a "solution" to the Syrian problem. Our President is claiming that was his plan all along.
Syria's Assad says he will do as Putin has asked and turn over his chemical weapons to Putin and international authorities, but not because of any fear of Obama's threats.
In assuming his new role as "peace maker," Vladimir Putin has now written a column for the New York Times in which he gives America a lecture on morality and the sin of feeling we are an "exceptional" nation.
Is this the kind of humility God has called us to in II Chronicles 7:14?

San Diego State Professor "Wipes Israel Off The Map"
While many far left secular progressives and Muslim terrorists would like to see Israel "wiped off the map," a professor at San Diego State University is doing his part to make that happen.
A map distributed in a language class at San Diego State University labeled Israel as "Palestine". This led to a strong push back by students and an outcry from the Jewish community.
It happened just as classes began a few days ago, causing students who were offended and outraged by the professor's actions to be unsure how they should respond fearing their grades could be impacted.
Here's how ABC News 10 in San Diego reported the issue, what the kids are saying and how the University has responded.
I have also included 12 things you should know regarding biblical references to Israeli ownership of the land. And why Christians worldwide support the nation of Israel and their original boundaries.

US Air Force--A Social Engineering Petri Dish?
Today, Americans remember those who were killed on 9-11-01 as a result of the attacks by Islamic terrorists twelve years ago.
While we remember those who died, we prayerfully remember the families and loved ones who suffered the loss.
As America has risen to be the leader of the free world---a super power, economically and militarily, we have also become a light in the darkness--- hope in a world of oppression and hopelessness.
Most all Americans are deeply appreciative of the men and women who serve our country in the US military, protecting our freedom and wonderful, blessed way of life.
However, on 9-11, our national awareness was heightened to the fact that there are those who seek to kill us and destroy this life of freedom and blessing, simply because we are Americans---and predominately Christian.
While America has become more vigilant following 9-11, it is becoming apparent that our military is under attack from a different kind of enemy.
One from within.

Christian Values-Based Aternative To BSA Launched
NBC is reporting, "Families looking for an alternative to the Boy Scouts of America after the group voted to drop its ban on gay youth earlier this year descended on Nashville, Tenn., this weekend to help launch a Christian-based scouting organization."
They say, "More than 1,200 former Scout officials, parents and youth from 44 states were attending the two-day national leadership convention where the group unveiled its name – Trail Life USA – and logo, officials with the group said. One of the founders John Stemberger, a former Eagle Scout and father of two scouts, created OnMyHonor.Net, a coalition of disgruntled BSA members who left the organization after the controversial vote in May."
Trail Life USA is based on Christian values and principles.
The tone of the NBC article, not surprisingly, tends to be a little negative than positive.
They say, "Whether the faith-based group gains popularity in the coming months could signal how successful the Boy Scouts of America will be at keeping members when the new policy takes effect on Jan. 1, 2014. BSA members were deeply divided over the decision to allow gay teens, with many vowing to quit the program."
Here's what people are saying and a link to the new organization's web site.

Gay Activist Dan Savage Teams With "Christians" For New Outreach
Dan Savage, well known for his pornographic homosexual oriented advice columns and founder of the national "It Gets Better" project has inspired the launch of a new outreach, "Not All Like That"---an outreach to LGBT youth. And others.
This outreach has forged an alliance between homosexual advocates and so-called "Christian" leaders.
You will recall it was Dan Savage, the featured speaker, who mocked Christian kids and the Bible at a convention for high school journalists last year in Seattle in which 3000 high school kids attended. I wrote a blog about it at the time. His comments were so malicious and offensive that Christian kids in attendance walked out.
Now he has joined several so-called "Christian" leaders in the launch of a national outreach and website called, "Not All Like That" (NALT).
The site says, "The purpose of the NALT Christian's project is to give LGBT affirming Christians a means of proclaiming to the world---and especially to gay people---their belief and conviction that there is nothing anti-biblical at all or inherently sinful about being gay, lesbian, bi-sexual or transgender."
My friend, the late David Wilkerson, would have called this a "soothing seduction."
It is aggressively anti-biblical regarding homosexual behavior. The site is using the same tactics they used in the campaign to redefine marriage in Washington State and elsewhere.
They are playing people's emotions with lies.
The project is asking "Christians" to upload videos of themselves communicating the message that all Christians are not like the ones who say homosexual behavior is sinful. Some of the initial videos include messages from so-called evangelicals who say that homosexual behavior is completely compatible with biblical teaching and Christianity.

"Under God" Under Attack With A New Tactic
A family has filed suit hoping to delete the words "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance.
This of course has become routine for those who seek to eliminate God from public life in America.
Generally these suits revolve around the argument based on a misrepresentation of Thomas Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists.
Past cases have argued the words "under God" violated the Constitution's separation of church and state.
However, this suit is not claiming "violation of separation of church and state."
You likely know the words "under God" were added to the pledge in 1954 and have been under constant attack in recent years.
This case makes a different argument. And it bears watching.

A Broken Public School System
While pubic education touches all of us, some, more than others, in property taxes; there is a growing sense of frustration with the direction and quality of public education. Particularly among those who have school age children or grandchildren.
The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) has completed a new report on education. The report includes 2012, but was released last week.
The study was focused on parent and family involvement in education.
Their study included 2 topics related to home schooling.
While their findings reflect concern with parents across the country, the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) says, "This is an exciting report."
Here are the facts from the study and some thoughts on public schooling, private schooling, home schooling and Common Core.

"Perilous Times": Rome, Damascus and Biblical Prophecy---Is This It?
Paul, the Apostle, has arguably had more influence on the world and its culture than anyone except Jesus Christ Himself.
What we know as the book of II Timothy in the Bible is actually the last letter Paul wrote to Timothy and the Christian church at large. A farewell letter to the millions of Christians of that day, and to billions of us who have since read it.
He probably wrote it in the spring of AD 68. Nero killed himself in early June of that year and Paul was put to death, most likely, just before that date.
He is telling Timothy and the Christian church there will be some rough times, "You therefore must endure hardships as a good soldier of Jesus Christ" (II Tim.2:3).
His characterization of what he called the "end times" certainly described the conditions in Rome at the time of Nero's suicide and Paul's murder.
But he says these conditions will exist at the time preceding the coming of the Lord. History tends to repeat itself.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 says, "What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun."
The conditions of his time are well known as the historic Fall of the Roman Empire. They, in many ways, parallel the conditions of our times.
Are we approaching the historic "end of time"? Would the destruction of Syria or Damascus fulfill any biblical prophecy related to the end times? Even Time Magazine has joined the conversation.

Homosexuals Shut Down Christian-Owned Bakery
Rachel Cryer, a lesbian, went to "Sweet Cakes by Melissa," a Gresham, OR bakery, to order a "wedding" cake for her and her partner back on January 17 of this year.
She met with Aaron Klein who along with his wife Melissa owns the bakery.
Klein asked for the date of the wedding and the names of the bride and groom.
Cryer says she told him, "There are two brides and our names are Rachel and Laurel."
Cryer says Klein told her he didn't make cakes for same-sex couples planning to marry because of he and his wife's religious beliefs.
Klein told the Oregonian newspaper that they couldn't participate in same-sex "marriage" because "it goes against our Christian faith."
Cryer and her partner filed a formal complaint with the State of Oregon, making the issue public.
The Kleins explained to the press that they were not discriminating. They said, "It's definitely not discrimination. We don't have anything against lesbians or homosexuals, it has to do with our morals and beliefs."
Here's what happened since then, including the shutting down of the couples small business this past Saturday.

"The Start Of The Historic American Retreat"
The world news coming out of Damascus last night is saying Obama's indecisive behavior regarding Syria amounts to, "The start of the historic American retreat."
Fox News' Chris Wallace noted yesterday that officials in Damascus are saying the President "flinched" and had "made a joke of the American administration."
He asked Secretary of State John Kerry whether the administration "had handed Syria and Iran at least a temporary victory?"
Kerry said, no, President Obama's indecision would actually give the US more time to prepare.
Meanwhile, Syria has moved large numbers of its troops and weaponry into highly civilian populated areas.
