President Bows To Homosexual Pressure

Yesterday President Obama signed an executive order that expands lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender "rights" without any corresponding exemptions for religious organizations.

This move comes after the White House failed to move the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) through Congress.

The House of Representatives refused to pass it.

LGBT organizations have been increasing their demands for the president to further act on their agenda.

Yesterday he bowed.

How does this action affect Christian relief organizations that contract with our government to carry out relief efforts in world disasters?

Ironically, as the President was signing the homosexual order that could have a real impact on those Christian organizations who do important humanitarian and relief work around the world, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) came out with a broad based, first ever report detailing how many people the homosexual advocacy organizations actually represent in America.

The actual number of homosexuals is very different than we have been led to believe.

It exposes a significant deception.

President Obama's order bars federal contractors from discriminating against their employees based on sexual orientation and protects federal employees from discrimination based on "gender identity."

Whatever gender an employee perceives him/herself to be must be honored and accommodated even if the identity changes daily.

While Obama's order does not modify the exemption put in place by President George W. Bush, it builds on executive orders by Lyndon Johnson and Bill Clinton.

Galen Carey, with the National Association of Evangelicals, told the New York Times, "It would be better if the president could provide leadership that promotes tolerance all the way around rather than use the force of state."

Agreed.

The president is assuring the homosexual community he has done all he can do, now the rest is up to them, and they must put pressure on Congress.

Wouldn't it be nice if the President put this much effort into some of the challenges facing our country at this critical time?

The LGBT folks are hyper-elated.

Chad Griffin, president of the country's largest homosexual advocacy group Human Rights Campaign says, "With the strokes of a pen, the president will have a very real and immediate impact on the lives of millions of LGBT people across the country."

What about the impact on Christian relief organizations who contract with the government to help people in crises around the world?

And what about the unmet needs that could result from organizations with biblical beliefs being cut off because they will not hire transgender people due to their deeply held biblical beliefs?

Apparently, little to no thought has been given to those with real needs.

The president's "stroke of the pen" means that Christian employers who contract with the government will be allowed to hire people on the basis of their faith, but are barred from not hiring those who violate the very principles upon which these organizations were founded---biblical Christianity. And this shade of gray has now been extended to those who are confused about their gender.

And speaking of confusion, this is a formula for multiple law suits from both sides.

What about the Hobby Lobby case? Does it have any bearing on the religious freedom issue in this matter?

A senior administration official told the Wall Street Journal, Hobby Lobby doesn't effect this decision---"We were comfortable moving forward with the executive order in light of Hobby Lobby."

Griffin says, "These actions from the president have the potential to be a keystone in the arch of his administration's progress."

"And they send a powerful message to future administrations and to Congress that anti-LGBT discrimination must not be tolerated," Griffin said.

We understand the threat.

But what about discrimination toward the 96.6% of Americans who do not practice homosexual behavior, or confused about their gender?

Centers for Disease Controls and Prevention (CDC) has completed a "large scale, first of its kind" government survey that finds 96.6% of Americans are "heterosexual."

Only 1.67% are homosexual.

America has been led to believe something very, very different than what CDC has discovered.

Dan Gainor with Media Research Center says, "This is the ultimate disconnect. Both news and entertainment bombard Americans with images of gay weddings, gay adoptions and transgender triumphs, all claiming to be what NBC called 'The New Normal'."

"The CDC numbers prove what we've been told might describe Hollywood, but not the rest of America," he said.

And the deception rolls on.

While the President has the power of the pen, so do the people. It is called "the vote."

But it only works when we use it.

US Census says there are about 311 million people in the United States. Adult evangelicals are hard to count but most conservative counts say about 26% are evangelical. That would be about 80 million people.

If evangelicals and conservative Catholics would vote, they could easily elect a president who is both highly qualified and who holds traditional biblical values on social issues like marriage and abortion.

However, a majority of them didn't even vote in 2012, and of the evangelicals who did vote, 6.4 million of them voted for President Obama.

How does that work? It doesn't.

I hear the words of the ancient prophet Elijah..."How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, then follow Him; but if Baal, then follow him." (I Kings 18:21)

"And the people stood silent" until they witnessed a demonstration of the power of God through His prophet Elijah, who was not afraid to speak out.
