U Of Alabama: "No Global Warming In Past 18 Years"

Two weeks ago Sec.of State John Kerry told the world, "The biggest challenge of all we face right now is the global impact of climate change," placing that above terrorism, Ebola and all the issues of immediate concern.

He said, "Science is screaming at us"---"ask any kid in school."

Great idea, but let's ask the kid's teacher.

Let's ask a professor of atmospheric science and the director of Earth System Science Center at the University of Alabama.

Kerry, speaking for President Obama and our country, also says global warming/climate change is the uniting factor that can bring the world together because it is linked to our common fate, it is a religious and spiritual matter.

He says, "God created the heavens and the earth before he created man," therefore laying out the mandate for us to address global warming above all things.

Kerry says, "If you accept science, if you accept that the science is causing climate to change, you have to heed what those same scientists are telling us about how to prevent the inevitable consequences."

"That's why President Obama has made climate a top priority. He's doing by executive authority what we're not able to get Congress to do," Kerry says.

He's right. Congress isn't buying in to the "green" or "Earth" movement as the president wants them to do.

He's also right that the president has launched an aggressive, expensive agenda giving hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to those companies who say they agree with him.

Kerry says, "Climate Change is here now. It's happening all over the world."

No it isn't. I'll show you the read out of actual data in a minute.

Because of the urgency of the warming, Kerry links Bible teaching to his call to action saying,"You can see this duty or responsibility laid down in Scriptures, clearly beginning in Genesis."

In fact, he says, this cause will "unite us all" because it impacts the "fate" of all people, particularly the "Muslim majority countries" that are "most vulnerable."

First, what is science actually saying? Clearly they are all over the place. Apparently philosophical bias is coming before actual data with some scientists.

Dr. John Christy, director of the University of Alabama/ Huntsville's Earth System Science Center, says, "The earth's temperature has 'plateaued' and there is no global warming for at least the last 18 years."

In reporting the data he said, "That's basically a fact. There's not much to comment on."

He's not predicting, he's reporting.

The "plateau" is evident in the climate record complied using actual raw data collected from 14 instruments aboard various weather satellites.

This is a link to the actual data collected from 1978 to October 1, 2014.

No warming.

But Kerry and the school kid says we are nearing mass meltdown.

Christy says the UN's climate models all predicted steeply rising temperatures over the last 2 decades. It didn't happen.

"And that the way the predictions were wrong in one direction," he says, "means the prediction or science is biased in one direction--toward overcooking the atmosphere."

He also says that basing government policy affecting millions of Americans on "very poor" climate models that have been shown to be inaccurate is "a fool's errand."

Perhaps that's why Congress has not jumped in the lifeboat.

Kerry seems to be putting aside "separation of church and state" in his evangelistic call for action. And, hey, I thought we evolved over billions of years, what's all this about Creation?

He points out that "Before God created man, He created heavens and earth," suggesting that the Earth may be more important in God's mind than man.

God actually gave man "dominion" instructing him to "subdue" His creation. And yes there is a responsibility attached to that act and instruction of God.

I don't know what Sec. Kerry actually believes, but I do know there is a growing movement that actually worships the earth---Mother Earth. It's called Gaia.

Kerry's words seem to be eerily similar to those of the humanist, pantheistic Earth worship movement.

This movement has been greatly elevated and accelerated by the various environmental initiatives that the US, UN and other countries have put forth.

The opening to the United Nations World Summit on Sustainability held in Johannesburg in 2002 gave a great launch to the pantheistic notion of Earth worship.

The welcoming ceremony featured children forming a human Tower of Babel while singing beneath a huge globe.

Earth Charter Community Summits continue to be held around the world and across our country. While they are different in some respects, there is a common narrative in most all of them.

That narrative is one that deifies the Earth and claims the Earth movement is the only thing that can unify the world. World Peace.

This is the progressive replacement for God; deifying Mother Earth, advocating a unified theory of all creatures, teaching that we are all interdependent of each other while rooted in Mother Earth.

Thomas Berry's book, "The Dream of the Earth," explains how "a new type of religious orientation...must emerge from our new story of the universe." It is published by the Sierra Club.

Shakti Gawain in her book, "Creative Visualization," teaches how to "connect" to Mother Earth. She writes, "Imagine that there is a long cord attached to the base of your spine and extending down through the floor and way down into the earth, if you wish, you can imagine that is like the root of a tree, growing deep into the ground. This is called a grounding cord. Now imagine that the energy of the earth is flowing through you."

One of the chapters in Al Gore's book, "Earth in the Balance," is titled, "Environmentalism of the Spirit."

At New York's Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the Gaia Institute has a female "Christa" displayed on a cross, worshiping the created, not the Creator.

Leonard Sweet, a leader of the Emerging Church movement says in his book, "Quantum Spirituality," "In an ecological model of the church, the earth is not separate from us; indeed, we are in symbolic relationship with the earth....so woven together are the destinies of heaven and earth that it is impossible for us to sin against one part of the body without doing damage to the whole body.

In the Emergent Church book, "Manifesto of Hope," which calls salvation a "collective experience," the message misuses Scripture to advance the idea that all humanity is one with the Earth--"A faithful community."

Sweet, a "Christian leader" to some, often speaking in local churches, writes in his book and teaches that the Earth is not merely an ecosystem, but a living system with which we have a relationship.

Many within this movement teach that the Earth is a living, breathing organism.

The Gaia teachers, Corrie McLaughlin and Gordon Davidson, teach that the Earth is Gaia, the ancient Mother Goddess.

Not only does the "Earth movement" seek to replace God with His creation, but to replace the United States as well.

The United Nations have actually created a Pledge of Allegiance to the Earth. This pledge is often hung in public classrooms as part of the study of the earth. There are several versions, but the one most often used is this: "I pledge allegiance to the Earth and all its sacred parts, Its water, land and living things and all its human hearts."

The green earthers are hysterical in their advocacy. I don't know where John Kerry is coming from, but he is certainly appealing to this spiritual realm in his comments.

Here is what I know for sure:

Nehemiah 9:6: "You alone are the Lord; you have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and everything in it, the seas and all that is in them, and You preserve them all."

Revelation 4:11: "For You created all things and by Your will they exist and were created."

Hebrews 1:3: "He (God) not nature upholds all things by the word of His power."
