Messing With Marriage?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
More than 6500 homosexual registered domestic partners have chosen not to get "married" since Washington State redefined marriage in 2012.

Today the state is declaring them "married" whether they want to be or not.

It seems odd that there was such a fever pitch of demand for equality of status and benefits by the 10,000 in domestic partnerships in the run-up to redefining marriage, yet so many have refused to convert their domestic partnerships to "marriage."

Most all Washington's major corporations wrote big checks to be sure marriage was redefined, with Jeff Bezos, CEO and founder of Amazon, donating $2.5 million personally to the campaign.

The news media dutifully reported daily of the individual struggles of those suffering because homosexuals couldn't "marry." Even some Republican politicians took a public stand against their Party platform and marriage in support of solving the marriage inequality crises in the state.

Why have so many who felt discriminated against passed on the opportunity now, refusing to "marry" their same-sex partner since this opportunity was given in 2012?

Was their passion for the word "marriage" really focused on something other than what the institution of marriage has represented through out recorded human history?

Was the value of marriage to the homosexuals its virtue, or were they simply messing with marriage with a different goal in mind?---A much larger goal.

Seattle---A "Nesting City For Gay Couples"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Starbucks has raised the largest "Pride" flag in Seattle history over its corporate headquarters building in recognition of Seattle's month long celebration of homosexuality.

The Seattle Times is reporting that "Seattle has surpassed San Francisco as having the largest concentration of same-sex couple households."

Josh Friedes with Equal Rights Washington, the state's largest homosexual advocacy organization, says Seattle has become "a nesting city for gay couples."

Why? Why is Seattle a better "nesting" place than San Francisco, Washington DC, Portland or New York?

Pastor Ron Moe-Lobeda of Seattle's University Lutheran Church gives some insight to Seattle's "nestability" in his response to the Time's Danny Westneat column on a different, but related matter.

VP Biden: "Gay Rights Trumps Culture And Traditions"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Abandoning the Judeo-Christian values upon which the country he purports to serve was founded, VP Biden told his audience this week "I don't care what your culture is," adding that supporting the homosexual cause is a "defining mark of a civilized nation."

White House National Security Advisor Susan Rice---yes, that Susan Rice who used to work for Sec. of State Hillary Clinton and repeatedly lied to the American people about Benghazi said, "We must amplify the message...that gay rights are straight up humans rights" and must "open more minds."

Both Biden and Rice were advocating---demanding the advancement of the homosexual agenda worldwide.

Now heads of governments are trying to defend themselves from this attack on their own national values.

It is true these are "defining times" and how America ultimately responds to the enduring, eternal Judeo-Christian values upon which this country was founded will indeed be a "defining mark."

As America pushes perversion...many leaders are pushing back on what was once a city on a hill---a light in the darkness.

Censoring Faith, Freedom and Family

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

It appears the secular progressive left feel they have reached "ramming speed" in regard to censoring faith, freedom and family in American culture.

Even though classes are out for the summer, the stories of censorship and indoctrination continue from America's public classrooms.

Eighteen-year old Andrew Lampart learned one big thing as he completed high school this year.

He learned that Jesus, Republicans, the pro-marriage movement and the NRA all seem to be in one category, while Karl Marx, the Democratic Party, Planned Parenthood, LGBT Nation and Islam are in another.

One category is available to him on the high school library web site, the other category is not. It's blocked.

Here's what happened.

Children Crossing Border Carrying Deadly Contagious Diseases--How To Respond?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

As children continue to illegally flood across the American border and are then bussed to various cities for drop off, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) is warning the public of a "high risk" for dangerous diseases.

While politicians turn a political eye toward the problem and this administration seems clueless---the American public generally wants to do the right thing.

But what is right?

The government must believe the problem will some how correct itself if they just keep busing the kids off to various US cities and dropping them off on the sidewalk.

The medical community is warning of a catastrophic, epidemic disease related crises if we continue as we are.

The religious left says it's God's will that we continue with our "open border" policy. They say that policy demonstrates Christian compassion.

The Muslim owned Al Jazeera America television news channel, recently purchased from Al Gore, agrees with the religious left.

Disabled And Dysfunctional, But Have We Lost Our Will?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Polls show there is a growing sense that things are not quite right in our country---we're on the wrong track.

Disability beneficiaries in the US now exceed 11 million.

Steve Forbes is arguing that while we are distracted with symptoms, we are ignoring the real problem in our economic system and unless it is fundamentally changed, we will not see economic recovery.

Representative Tim Huelscamp, R-Kansas, said this weekend he believes the fight to redefine our most important social institutions---specifically marriage, is now about much more than "tolerance" and "fairness"; it's about destroying the institutions themselves.

Are things really as they seem? And if so, is there really anything we can do about it?

The University of California is reporting they have new evidence that human beings don't actually posses "free will" to make decisions.

They say, "It's all an illusion."

There is a sense of inevitability about this message. A fatalistic future.

Secular progressivism and its relativism always creates despair.

In stark contrast, the message of Christianity always creates hope.

President Obama Defies America, Takes Common Core To College

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

As millions of our kids complete another school year, clean out their desks and head out for the summer, President Obama is headed to college...with a plan.

The President is taking Common Core to college during summer break.

This administration has repeatedly assured the public that the government is not trying to nationalize education through Common Core and that Common Core was actually being advanced by educators and governors and parents and various state legislatures who want to "reform" education---to help our kids.

Most all these, now that they are becoming informed as to what Common Core is really about---and not about, are rejecting it. Parents and educators are begging the government to stop pushing it while governors and legislatures are trying to figure out how to withdraw their states from it.

President Obama is certainly not acting like a man who is not pushing an agenda called Common Core.

And if you think he may be reconsidering it in light of the near universal opposition to it, think again.

US Supreme Court On Conscience

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Within days, the Supreme Court will rule on Americans' right to act on their conscience and resulting moral convictions.

John Jay, America's first Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court said, "Security under our Constitution is given to the rights of conscience and private judgement. They are by nature subject to no control but that of Deity [the Lord] and in that free situation they are now left."

How will the Court of 2014 rule on conscience?

Has our collective conscience become so "seared" that we are desensitized to the fundamental principles of life and liberty and now believe that "conscience can be your guide" only if it is not shaped by Judeo-Christian values?

The Court's decision will not only impact the current issues related to Obamacare and abortion, but will impact, and could silence future generations from living according to their conscience for fear of reprisal.

The true American dream being weighed in the balances?

Gay US Ambassador Declares Civil War Over

US Ambassador to Australia, John Berry, says President Obama's election to president was the "true last closing chapter of the Civil War."

Berry, who is "married" to a man, is described on the Embassy of the United States web site as "the highest ranking openly LGBT executive in US history."

What is the message from this high ranking US official?

Is Berry declaring the struggle for equality by African Americans should now cease and desist because it's over, equality has been achieved? Is this the message of the president Berry serves under?

Or is Mr. Berry suggesting all energies and resources should now be directed toward the gay agenda, rather than others of diminished importance or urgency?

Berry's comments were made at a press conference announcing that the US Park Services will now be placing monuments and interpretive centers across America to celebrate and interpret the homosexual agenda.

John Kerry Calling For Alliance With Iran? Does Sen.Graham Agree?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

John Kerry thinks the US should work with Iran to solve the crises in Iraq.

Was Senator Lindsay Graham, R-SC, advocating that same sentiment when he told CNN News, "We need to coordinate with the Iranians' over the Iraqi crises."

Christians and conservatives have grown accustomed to Republican leadership suggesting we compromise the social values such as marriage, abortion and other "distracting" issues. Or at least being silent about them so the Republican Party can "win."

We have also become accustomed to saying no. And refusing to compromise on biblical values.

We all understand there must be some compromise in the political process and foreign policy, but many Christians and conservatives are wondering about the wisdom of creating some form of alliance with Iran to help us control the situation in Iraq.

While this is likely an idea that our President would wholeheartedly embrace, I was not surprised to hear Senator Lindsay Graham tell CNN News last Sunday, "The lack of residual [US] force...this stubborn-headed delusional, detached president we have who thinks he knows better than every body else, who withdrew [American] troops and exposed this country to the inevitable, needs to change his policies quickly."

Agreed. Most of us get that.

However, I was surprised to hear him suggesting the "US should coordinate with Iran."

Should we be forming alliances with Iran?

Fox News is reporting that ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) is well funded and on the way to developing a Shariah caliphate in Iraq and Syria. In fact, Fox says they looted $429 million from the central bank in Mosul recently. This in addition to seizing vaults of cash and gold bullion has made ISIS the richest terrorist organization in the world.

We are now learning that the terrorist group has seized US made tanks, Black Hawk helicopters, cargo planes and an unknown quantity of guns, all part of a $14 billion arsenal the US sold or gave to the rag tag Iraqi security forces.

President Obama, who was playing golf in Palm Springs yesterday, sent a letter to Congress explaining that he is sending about 275 military personnel to protect the US Embassy in Baghdad.

This is a disaster.

But is the answer to create an alliance with Iran?

Transgenderism: The Moral Tipping Point?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Biblical Christians are pretty clear on what the Bible teaches and what we believe about homosexual behavior and all its derivatives, but will the constant moral march down the proverbial slippery slope prove to be a tipping point of different results than the confident homosexual activists are predicting?

June, once known for Father's Day and natural weddings between a man and a women, has been unilaterally declared "Gay Pride Month" by desperate politicians in search of "one more vote" and activists whose desires and passions seem to have no limits.

A misinformed electorate sometimes follows the parade from a distance, feeling good about their personal compassion and tolerance and acceptance and inclusion.

Time magazine recently placed "Orange Is the New Black" star Laverne Cox (born Charles Cox) on the cover as the face of "The Transgender Tipping Point: America's Next Civil Rights Frontier."

Cox wrote on Facebook that the Time cover was a wonderful present on her birthday, and "I realize this is way bigger than me and about a tipping point in our nation's history where it is no longer acceptable for trans lives to be stigmatized, ridiculed, criminalized and disregarded."

Seattle (and other cities across the nation) is abuzz with the "festivities" of this month. In fact, Seattle is featuring the "World's Largest Drag Queen Stage Show In History" this Thursday evening.

Twisting Scripture Regarding Immigration

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Immigration has become the current flash point in America. Unknown candidate David Brat defeated House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in their Virginia primary election this week. While there were other issues, the big issue was immigration. Such a political defeat has never happened in the history of this Republic.

Nowhere is the immigration crises more poignant then in the pictures of children being dumped at our southern border, seeking entrance to the US.

Whose heart is not touched by these pictures?

But behind these pictures is another picture. One of children being sold into sex slavery after entering the country, or simply wandering the streets of our cities, with some children believing their 15 day pass is documentation to stay.

Human Health Services is announcing that it is spending hundreds of millions of dollars providing lists of services, including "family planning services," that are "sensitive to sexual orientation and gender identity."

In this chaos and confusion, there is yet another picture, one including our President and other politically motivated politicians from both parties, advocating for amnesty and essentially open borders in an attempt to advance their own political careers.

Jeb Bush has called illegal immigration an "act of love," joining other politicians who covet yet one more vote.

This is not "an act of love," it's child abuse.

Rev. Jim Wallis, founder of the religious left organization "Sojourners," has written in an op-ed piece for the Los Angeles Times, "It's time for a moral religious conversation about immigration reform--not just a political one."

Agreed.

But his biblical interpretation regarding immigration is twisted.

"Love your neighbor as yourself" is a clear teaching, taught in the Old Testament ( Leviticus 19:18) and affirmed in the New Testament.

But in regard to immigration, "Who is my neighbor?

That answer is found in reading on in the Scripture.

"Reading on" is something the religious left and hyper self-serving politicians from both parties apparently have no interest in doing---yet they continue to quote Scripture to "guilt" well meaning Christians and others into supporting them, for fear of appearing to lack compassion.

Introducing David Brat

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Tuesday evening, college professor David Brat beat the Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the Virginia primary election.

A House Majority Leader from either Party has never been unseated in a primary election in the history of this Republic.

Eric Cantor stepped down as House Majority Leader yesterday, following his defeat on Tuesday.

But who in the world is David Brat?

Why did the people of Virgina's 7th Congressional District decide to get rid of Eric Cantor, the second most powerful man in the House of Representatives? And why did they choose Brat?

Brat told the press, "God acted through people on my behalf." He said, "It's an unbelievable miracle."

Perhaps that's true. Mr. Cantor raised $5.7 million for his campaign. Mr Brat raised $231,000 for his.

Some have said Mr. Brat didn't actually believe he would beat Cantor. Perhaps, but he ran for the office none the less.

But who is he? Well, he is a economics professor at a small liberal arts college North of Richmond. He is a graduate of Princeton and American University. He has a masters degree in theology from Princeton Seminary and a doctorate in economics from American University.

Prior to Tuesday, there were only 2 sentences about him on Wikipedia. Of course there's more now.

I'm wondering, not only who is this man, but who and what does he represent in our current culture of chaos?

Killing America--And The Path To Restoration

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

When President Obama was sworn into office, he promised to "remake America."

On the 100th day of his first term in office he returned to Missouri, where his campaign for office had concluded the evening before his election, and told the people, "I'm here to report the remaking of America is well underway."

The "remaking" continues.

He is leading the parade to redefine marriage by killing DOMA and imposing his view of marriage on every aspect of society. This view shakes its fist at biblical teaching, traditional and historical understanding of the most basic human structure--marriage between one man and one woman.

Natural marriage is foundational to every successful culture in the history of the world, and affirmed by every major religion in the world.

In our process of "remaking America," we are "redefining" what cannot, in fact, be redefined. We are shaking our fist at the God who created us. And marriage.

In heeding the call of the 2% who practice homosexual behavior, the President is conforming our nation's military to something it never was, nor should be.

Our military is now forced to represent the President's views on homosexuality at gay pride parades, while he tells the graduating class at West Point last week, their assignment will likely be more toward climate change prevention than traditional defense of the country.

Public education has become more a Petri dish for social experimentation and indoctrination than a place for educating our children.

Who is killing America?

The President?

Or is it something else...or someone else?

Here are some facts about the path to destruction and the path to restoration.

Planned Parenthood President: "Abortion Not Even Mentioned In Scriptures"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, personifies the deception Paul wrote about and Jesus warned about in the New Testament. And her recent letter to women reveals the level of deception and dishonesty that has become the brand of Planned Parenthood.

She says, "Many people wrongly assume that all religious leaders disapprove of abortion. The truth is that abortion is not even mentioned in the Scriptures---Jewish or Christian....and there are clergy and people of faith from all denominations who support women making this complex decision"....."No one should be allowed to force their faith teachings on anyone else."

Planned Parenthood routinely forces their teachings on young women at the most vulnerable moments in their lives.

She also affirms that while abortion is a complicated decision, "We're here to support your decision."

That too is a lie.

Undercover investigation by Lilia Rose and others have clearly shown there is no support for those who want to choose life.

Celebrities Sharon Osbourne and Toni Braxton both deny Planned Parenthood's claims.

Both suffered emotionally, physically and spiritually as a result of having an abortion. Read their words.

Richard's letter, once in the public, became so toxic that she took it off the Planned Parenthood web site.

We have an archived copy of her letter.

And a "Truthful," creative response.

Atheist Dawkins, Actress Jolie Debate Christmas

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Last week atheist Richard Dawkins, professor of evolutionary biology, author and atheist, told a convention that the "concept of 'Father Christmas' may harm a child's development."

After his statements were quoted by the press worldwide, some took issue with the most prominent being actress Angelina Jolie.

She told the press why she thinks Christmas fairy tales are important.

Neither Dawkins nor Jolie are spokespeople for Christianity, but their interchange is revealing.

It reveals something about the cultural narrative regarding Christianity in general.

And specifically about the Christian church.

Both should be sobering, particularly as we celebrated Pentecost Sunday yesterday, and the birth of the Christian Church.

In Theaters Today--"An Abortion Romantic Comedy"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
The Hollywood Reporter says, "In the upcoming Indie comedy 'Obvious Child', the film's main character doesn't shy away from her decision to have an abortion when she finds herself unexpectedly pregnant."

Instead, she finds a path of self discovery and empowerment by having the abortion.

Our prayers are with those who were injured in the shooting on Seattle Pacific University campus yesterday afternoon. Also, remember the family of the victim who has died.

Many of us have close ties to SPU. One of our daughters graduated from the university and I once served as Special Assistant to the President of Seattle Pacific University.

May God's strength and grace be with the faculty and students during this very difficult time.

The film's executive producer Gillian Robespierre says, "There has been no pressure from outside forces for her to waiver in the film's commitment to that story line."

Strong encouragement and plenty of money.

The media PR calls the film "hilarious" and "an unplanned journey of self discovery."

You would expect Planned Parenthood and NARAL to be "all in" on a film like this.

They are.

But the feature article in the New York Times is why I chose to write about this today.

The Enemy Within

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Cicero, a Roman Senator, historian and philosopher watched his nation collapse from within, concluding that "A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within."

The enemy within.

But who is the real enemy?

The recent release of the 5 top level terrorist leaders by the President in exchange for an American soldier that we are now learning from his fellow soldiers was anti-American and sympathetic to the enemy and had been AWOL, has caused most ordinary Americans---not the elected elite, but the regular people, to pause and ask, "What's going on in our country?"

Lt. Col. Oliver North says he absolutely knows that a ransom was paid for the release of the AWOL soldier Bowe Bergdahl.

Hillary Clinton says she "was personally and intensely involved in the debate over swapping five Taliban commanders for St. Bowe Bergdahl in 2011 and 2012." But....

Evan Buelow, Bergdahl's former platoon leader, now living in Maple Valley outside Seattle says is saying Bergdahl should face court martial.

And why did our own government lie to the family of Lt. Darryn Andrews, including his pregnant wife, after he was killed on a mission to find Bowe Bergdahl?

This current episode is revealing much about the true state of our union. Rather than becoming a "more perfect union," present leadership is leading us toward our lowest and least.

In our attempt to sort it all out perhaps we can look at both the effects of what is transpiring and the cause.

Interestingly, the number believing in strict evolution has only grown moderately over the past 15 years.

LA Weekly: "GOP Is Wounded Elephant" Searching For Identity

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

The LA Weekly cartoon of a wounded elephant, bleeding and bellowing in pain, being pulled by, among others, a caricature of a Klu Klux Klansman, is an over statement to say the least. It is also a lie.

However, the GOP is still seemingly searching for its identity.

The caricatures joining the KKK person in trying to control the Party are a cowboy wearing an American flag shirt, a man in military fatigues, a man in colonial era clothing, and a "Tea Party" person.

The white hooded and white robed KKK figure seems to be anchoring the group.

Ironically, I don't see any clergy.

The elephant has one damaged tusk, blood dripping from rope burns and other signs of injury caused by internal battles.

It's a pathetic picture and it overstates the facts, but there is a search for identity within the Grand Old Party.

Identity is at the core of what any organization is and can become.

As a pastor I have observed that the lack of identity is at the core of most people's personal problems.

The LA Weekly has gotten a lot of attention, both in LA and across the country with the pictures, more than the narrative of their story, but it does underscore the GOP issue.

Let's take a closer look at "identity."

"Your Free To Hold Religious Beliefs--But Don't Practice Them."

Jack Phillips is a master cake maker, he is also a biblical Christian.

This is not the first time we've heard this story, but Friday's ruling goes beyond what we have seen in the past in attacking religious freedom, freedom of speech and freedom of expression.

It is a revealing moment, affirming what many of us had already sensed. It is a defining moment in regard to what homosexual activists are demanding and government is enforcing.

President Obama and his people have recently changed the narrative on this issue, repeatedly using the words "freedom of worship" rather than "freedom of religion."

The ruling against Jack Phillips reveals what they mean by "freedom of worship."

Their words and the actions that follow are chilling to anyone who values religious freedom, religious expression and freedom of speech.

Here's what happened last Friday.
