Ben Carson: "I Hate Political Correctness"--Here's Why You Should Too

A year ago, Ben Carson publicly expressed his "hate" of political correctness.

A year of traveling, public speeches and observations has deepened rather than diminished his feeling about this destructive element now pervasive in American culture.

Political Correctness is the shadow of death in a culture born out of the love of freedom and liberty.

Last week at CPAC he told conservatives, "If you're white and you oppose a progressive black person, you're a racist, but if you're black and you oppose the progressive agenda, then you're crazy."

The link above also includes comments made by Ted Cruz and Mike Lee at CSPAN.

He also raised the issue of the "perceived" notion that conservatives lack compassion for impoverished Americans.

He said the "Great Society" programs of Johnson and the Democratic Party have largely been a failure saying, "We need to change course."

He said, "We need to understand what true compassion is in order to reach out to individuals who may think being dependent is reasonable as long as they feel safe...It's really not compassion to pat someone on the head and say 'There, there, I'm going to take care of all your problems.' That is making people dependent."

Dependence expands government and diminishes freedom.

Carson told the audience, "It's interesting to me how the left in particular loves to re-label and name things. You know, for instance, if you're pro-life then you're anti-woman. If you're pro-traditional family then you're homophobe."

Indeed.

The encroachment of this deadly shadow has been incremental, quiet but steady---like the growth of a weed in the garden.

Too many Americans are aware of the changing lexicon, but not overly concerned---"Things change"--right?

Andree Peterson wrote an article titled, "A Decade of Change--A Brave New Lexicon For A Disintegrating Civilization."

The article grew from a conversation she had with a single missionary, Melanie, who returned home for furlough from 12 years in Hungary.

"Over lunch," Peterson begins, "she commented to me that 'the United States has changed a lot over the decade'."

Peterson asked how so? Melanie replied, "Political Correctness."

Peterson writes, "In my seat, I took instant stock of how I have changed since Melanie had boarded a plane to Budapest: I lower my voice in restaurants when praying and avoid generalities about people group groups...at holiday meals. I am defensive when disagreeing with others that men should not copulate with men, or that my taxes should subsidize fetal extermination. I have nearly internalized the self image of a Hater: One begins to believe what one is repeatedly told one is."

The remainder of the article points out how the National Council of English (NCTE) has created a new lexicon for "a disintegrating civilization."

William S. Lind is a cultural conservative, a Christian and an expert on light rail transport systems. He has written a number of books on military fields---was educated at Princeton and Dartmouth.

He is recognized as an expert on the history and development of Political Correctness. He and his research is often quoted.

Lind says, "For the first time in our history, Americans have to be fearful of what they say, of what they write and what they think. They have to be afraid of using the wrong word, a word denounced as offensive or insensitive, or racist, sexist, or homophobic."

Where does it come from? What is it?

The name actually originated as something of a joke---in a comic strip. Some still take it as a kind of joke or passing fad.

Link says it isn't, "It's deadly serious."

He says, "If we look at it analytically, if we look at it historically, we quickly find out exactly what it is. Political Correctness is Cultural Marxism. It is Marxism translated from economic into cultural terms. It is an effort that goes back not to the 1960s and the hippies and the peace movement, but back to World War I. If we compare the basic tenets of Political Correctness with classical Marxism the parallels are very obvious."

He points out both are totalitarian ideologies and are nowhere more clearly in play than on college campuses.

He believes most college campuses have become small ivy covered North Koreas, where the student or faculty member who dares to cross any lines set up by the gender feminist or the homosexual rights activists, or the local black or Hispanic group, or any of the sainted "victims" groups that Political Correctness revolves around, quickly find themselves in judicial trouble.

Secondly, he says, "The Cultural Marxism of Political Correctness, like economic Marxism, has a single factor explanation of history. It says that all history is determined by power, by which groups of people are defined in terms of race, sex, etc., have power over the other groups. Everything from past history is about that, nothing else.

Third. Marxism creates a class system--the peasants are "good" while all bourgeoisie, or all business owners---small or large, are evil. Cultural Marxism creates social classes--feminist women who are far left progressive are all good, other women don't exist. Blacks, Hispanics, homosexuals are determined to be "victims" and therefore automatically good regardless of what they do or demand. White males in cultural Marxism are deemed automatically evil , therefor becoming the equivalent of the bourgeoisie in economic Marxism.

Fourth. This sets up an environment that condones expropriation. Wealth and property is taken and redistributed by government and public manipulation from the "wealthy" and put into the hands of victims. Our President often calls this "leveling the playing field."

In terms of the culture, the battle cry is "Equality"---the freedom to marry whom you love or a woman's "Choice."

In education, expropriation occurs through affirmative action programs and quotas.

And finally. This system has a predetermined outcome. For classical Marxism, it's Marxist economics. The end justifies the means. A great example is found in the revelations of how the public was misled regarding Obamacare.

In cultural Marxism, the end is achieved by "deconstruction." Deconstruction essentially takes any text, removes all meaning from it and re-inserts any meaning desired. In this environment students are then taught, for example, that all Shakespeare is about the suppression of women, or the Bible is really about race and gender. All these texts simply become grist for the mill that proves that "all history is about which groups have power over which other groups."

There's much more. I'll be talking about this on the radio this morning. You may join me from anywhere in the world, live at 9 AM PST or rebroadcast at 7:30 PM PST. Here's how.

Lind believes America, today, is in the throes of the greatest and direst transformation in our history.

I agree. Many of you do as well.

We are becoming an ideological state, a country with an official state ideology, enforced by the power of the state.

Small business people are now being financially destroyed by the state because of their biblical beliefs. The state pompously tells them to believe what they want, but don't dare act on those beliefs that conflict with the state ideology. The ensuing fines destroy these people financially. Often a part of their sentence is "re-education" on marriage and family.

The category of laws that enforce this Cultural Marxism is being expanded on an almost daily basis.

Anyone who dissents from Political Correctness on our campuses knows there will be sudden and harsh consequences.

As a result, the lexicon has been rewritten. Words no longer mean what they once meant. Truth has become relative to what Cultural Marxism demands, churches have been silenced for fear of the government, while Christians conform their beliefs to the culture rather than biblical teaching.

And Jesus weeps.

Left unchecked, this movement will destroy everything that we have ever defined as our freedom and our culture.

Yet all this can turn on the single act of prayer and action by God's people.

I believe there is at least the beginning of a spiritual awakening--- A spiritual and political push back that will bring about change that cannot be contained on a bumper sticker or defined by campaign talking points.

Public and personal restoration.

Do not grow weary in the battle.

Be Informed. Be Encouraged. Be Certain--God cares.
