Dr. Carson Diagnoses America: "Schizophrenia, a Form of Craziness"

Dr. Ben Carson went to the Iowa State Fair last Sunday.

Although he is running for president, and is currently #2 behind Trump, he said his message was beyond politics.

He told the crowd to "stop listening to those people who are telling us we can't talk about God, we cannot talk about our faith."

He said there is confusion in America that transcends Republican or Democrat.

He said, "God is in our founding documents, in our pledge, our courts and He is on our money---but we're not supposed to talk about Him?

"In medicine," he said, "we call it schizophrenia, a form of craziness."

He asked the crowd, "I wonder, do they realize that our founding document, our Declaration of Independence, talks about certain inalienable rights given to us by our Creator--aka, God?"

The doctor said it's time for Americans "to realize there's nothing wrong with living by godly principles...having values and principles that govern your life."

Why would Dr. Ben Carson, a presidential candidate, choose to focus on this message at a state fair?

The easy answer is, "He knows there is a lot of Christians in Iowa, right?"

Perhaps his concern runs deeper than a political ambition. Maybe he knows what others know, and sincerely shares the concern of so many of us.

Last year, Michael Snyder wrote an article titled, "100 Facts About The Moral Collapse Of America That Are Almost Too Crazy to Believe." The symptoms Snyder exposes confirm Dr. Carson's diagnoses.

We have lost our identity. We have, unfortunately become morally "schizophrenic."

Snyder's article begins with this: "The collection of facts and statistics that you are about to read is highly controversial. A lot of people are going to be greatly upset by it. Why? Because they don't like to be confronted with the truth about America."

He says, "Most people tend to think we can 'fix this country' by getting the right politicians into power or by implementing certain economic or social reforms. But the reality of the matter is that our problems go deeper than that."

Indeed. Both he and Carson agree.

Snyder's list of 100 "facts" are both interesting and concerning. They probably will upset some who read them. However, I encourage you to do so, with this in mind:

While Snyder offers no solution, Carson encourages people to come together around godly values and principles and resist the "divisiveness that is going on in our society."

Carson says we need to define the enemy---"We, the American people are not each other's enemy," he says, "the enemy is those people who trying to make us think that we are each other's enemy."

He says if we come together around biblical principles and values we will "not only remain a pinnacle nation, but we will truly have one nation, under God."

This is true.

And it begins with this---many of you can quote this from memory---I hope: "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

It begins with me.

Be Prayerful. Be Humble. Be Repentant. Be Healed.
