Obama: "We Must Make Fundamental Decision RE: Our Values"

At a fundraising event in a private home in Los Angeles Saturday night, President Obama said, "There is a fundamental decision we have to make as a country in terms of our values---what do we believe, what do we care about."

He also said the Supreme Court decision declaring same-sex "marriage" a "right" is "one of the proudest things we've been able to achieve during the course of my presidency."

Some high profile Republicans are strongly suggesting the GOP---the Party who claims conservative values, set aside "social issues" because they "cause us to lose elections."

A konfused kulture.

And ...

"Planned Parenthood announces it will no longer sell baby parts."

Planned Parenthood Federation of America announced yesterday it would no longer accept reimbursements for tissue donated to researchers from aborted babies.
David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress, called Planned Parenthood’s policy change an “admission of guilt.”

First, President George Washington warned that America must never become "a nation at war with its foundations."

He said the "smiles of heaven" can never be expected on a nation "that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which heaven itself hath ordained."

In the mind of our Founding President, merely standing for something is not a desired value, and we cannot expect God's blessing simply because we embrace our own version of morality.

In fact this exercise puts a "nation at war with its own foundation."

We are measured by what we stand for, not merely that we stood for "something."

President Obama said Saturday night, America's greatness would be measured by how we treat "the vulnerable and the infirm and our aged."

Obamacare has done more to dismantle America's healthcare system than any other single piece of legislation in American history.

What has been recognized as the world's greatest medical system is now fragmented, and seen by many as being unraveled, socialized and diminished.

Doctors and patients alike are still trying to figure out exactly how it works, with many concluding that it doesn't work---and never will.

While everyone is impacted, most negatively, none more negatively than the "aged."

The notion of Death Panels was not a scare tactic.

The president favors legalized abortion of unborn babies up to the moment of birth and as a state senator in Illinois, opposed legislation that would have defined a born baby who survived an abortion as a "person," "human being," "child" and "individual" under Illinois law.

A president who considers legally redefining marriage, the oldest human institution that has, from the beginning of the human race, been considered to be a union between a man and a woman, one of his "proudest achievements" in the course of his presidency clearly stands as an example of what George Washington warned us about---"A nation at war against its own foundation."

America's future hangs in the balance. President Obama is right in saying, "There is a fundamental decision we have to make as a country in terms of our values."

But merely choosing values on the basis of what a relativistic, "evolving culture" dictates at any given time in history is most often the wrong choice.

This is why Paul wrote, "Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

The cultural mores change---eternal values do not.

The president also touched on something Saturday night that Jesus actually taught. He said, "I believe this country works best not when we're thinking about ourselves but when we're thinking about others."

The secular progressive left seeks leadership by blending a bit of biblical truth with relativistic, evolving, ever changing values, while the so-called conservatives advocate hiding the eternal biblical values---the foundation of America, under a political bushel.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said yesterday on MSNBC that he believes the Republican candidates need to avoid the social issues----aka, biblical values spoken of by George Washington, because it will "cost the party politically."

He said, "I think the party will have to put the focus on the economy and national security. Keep the focus off social issues..."

Can we not focus on both?

Rudy admits, "A lot of the more right wing members of my party disagree with me, but I think that's our soft underbelly."

This, of course, is the same logic followed by presidential candidates Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney---and Rudy Giuliani in his own unsuccessful presidential campaign.

Why will it now work politically in 2016 when it has miserably failed in the past 3 presidential elections?

Because it is flawed at its core.

Pretending to be something other than who you really are, or claim to be, by identifying as Republican so you can get elected, is as flawed as Obama's notion that true "values" are redefining marriage and family and advancing abortion because it's a choice that is a fundamental right---a value.

Claiming to be a Republican, but denying the platform principles of the Party, has not worked well in past elections---why would it work now?

At least the far left are up front with their anti-biblical values.

Franklin Graham says, "I've lived long enough to learn that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans can turn this country around; no political party or politician is the answer."

"The only hope for this country is almighty God and His Son Jesus Christ," he says.

Millions of us agree.

Franklin has announced on Facebook that he will be traveling to all 50 states next year to hold prayer rallies at each state capital.

The dates for each state are being worked out. We will keep you informed as the schedule develops.

He is challenging Christians to "boldly live out their faith" and to "pray for our nation and our leaders."

He says, "I want to encourage Christians to get out and vote, and to cast their ballots for candidates who uphold biblical principles."

He also is saying, "I strongly urge Christians to run for office public office at every level---local, state, and federal."

George Washington would, I'm sure, define this plan as a path to "the smiles of heaven."

I'm all in. I hope you will be as well.

Be Informed. Be Prayerful. Be Pro-Active.
