Refugees at The Door: 2,098 Muslims, 53 Christians to Date

Jesus said, "For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came to Me..." (Matt. 25: 35,36), concluding that if you do these things to the "least of them," you are doing it for Him.

Hundreds of thousands of refugees stand at America's door seeking refuge.

Nearly all are Muslims.

It has been said "All Muslims are not terrorists, but nearly all terrorists are Muslims."

Those terrorists have declared they are ready to give their lives to kill Americans and Jews.

Our authorities admit they cannot track them adequately once inside the US.

What should we do?

St. Paul wrote in Romans 12:13, "Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to the stranger."

According to State Department statistics updated this past Monday, 2,184 Syrian refugees have been admitted into the US since the war in Syria erupted in 2011.

They report 2098 (96%) were Muslim and 53 (2.4%) were Christian.

The remaining 33 include: 1 Yazidi, 8 Jehovah Witnesses, 2 Baha'i, 6 Zoroastrians, 6 "other religion", 7 "no religion" and 3 atheists.

Before the war's death toll in 2011 and the refugee exodus roiled the country's demographics, 90% were Muslim and 10% Christian.

The president is calling for an immediate 10,000 new refugees, with as many as 100,000 + over the next 2 years.

The Religious Left, for the most part, support him based, they say, on New Testament teaching, including that of Jesus Himself.

President Obama has told the world, those who object because of the great risk to American lives, families and communities, specifically Sen. Ted Cruz, are "shameful."

Although Cruz, and several others who have now joined him, are offering alternative ways to express Christian compassion, the president and the Religious Left insist the only way to be faithful to God's Word is to open the borders and allow thousands of refugees to pour into the country, much like Germany has been doing.

Thousands whom our own government admit they cannot vet or adequately track once in the country.

The irony is something not being reported by most media, nor publicly recognized by the Left.

It is the plight of Christians trying to flee Syria.

Last September, George Carey,  a former leader of the Anglican Church in England and worldwide, urged the British government to prioritize Christian refugees because "they are a particularly vulnerable group."

He said admitting Christians are not to be found in the UN refugee camps from which the United Nations chooses which refugees get to leave.

He says this procedural policy "inadvertently discriminates against the very Christian communities most victimized by the inhuman butchers of the so-called 'Islamic State'."

He said in an op-ed piece in the London Telegraph, "Christians are not found in the United Nations camps because they have been attacked and targeted by Islamists and driven from them."

Carey also addressed the sensitive Christian-Muslim issue we now face in America.

He wrote, "Some will not like me saying this, but in recent years, there has been too much Muslim mass immigration to Europe. This has resulted in ghettos of Muslim communities living parallel lives to mainstream society, following their own customs and even their own laws."

Carey suggested the solution is found in demanding the oil rich Gulf States, their Muslim brethren, to provide safe zones "so their fellow Muslims can continue to live in Muslim-majority countries"---Precisely what Sen. Ted Cruz is suggesting, and President Obama is calling "shameful."

Last September when Australia attempted to put a plan in place for their acceptance of Syrian refugees based on prioritizing those "most in need," the Muslims and the (Christian) Religious Left attacked them, even though the "most in need" were the women, children and families of minorities.

The Muslim group, Australian Federation of Islamic Counsels, demanded that Australian authorities must "take the moral high ground and stop bigots from dividing the Australian community."

The further irony is that the Religious Left and the Muslim community are in agreement as to what is "moral."

And who are bigots.

Speaking of morality.

It is the Religious Left---Pres. Obama, his advisor Rev. Jim Wallis, Tony Campolo, Hillary and others, including some Republicans---who disregard the very clear teaching in the Bible concerning abortion: "Thou Shalt Not Kill." And a host of other Scriptures celebrating and affirming the sanctity of life.

It is this same group who not only ignore but condemn as bigots those who embrace biblical teaching regarding sexuality---specifically homosexual behavior, and God's model for family and marriage.

To suggest that either the Religious Left or the Muslim community somehow are standing on "moral high ground" is pathetic.

Senator Ted Cruz  is introducing a bill that will ban all immigration of Syrians until Congress can sort things out.

Newly elected Speaker of the House Paul Ryan is calling for a "pause" before lunging ahead with Obama's action plan.

Did you know what each refugee receives from the taxpayers when they set foot on our homeland?

America is a very generous nation.

Liberty News has obtained a spread sheet of sorts on what each refugee receives.

They are reporting, based on Office of Refugee Resettlement. Here's what they found:

“Every refugee receives a sum of money from the government that’s welcome money. It’s $925 per person — a one-time sum.

Then:

  • Being picked up at the airport
  • Finding and securing an apartment
  • Setting up the apartment “so it’s livable”
  • Providing bus orientation
  • Transporting them to Social Security office to apply for card
  • Helping find employment
  • Eight weeks of English as Second Language (ESL) classes
  • The resettlement organization gives the volunteer a Walmart gift card to buy “all the items needed for the refugee’s apartment.”

  • Refugees are able to attend a job readiness class after they “graduate” from the ESL class. There they’re taught how to compete against Americans for jobs by learning “how to be professional in the United States, how to fill out a job application."

  • “We also have employment case managers who sit down with that refugee and help them fill out some job applications and take them to interviews and know the employers in the area that are able to hire people with lower English skills. So we really help them find a job.”

  • In addition to the “welcome money,” refugees are also eligible to sign up for a few “cash assistance programs” but are supposedly only eligible to enroll in one.

Yesterday, the United Nations sent out a terse warning to any European countries considering halting the influx of Syrian refugees per previous agreements: "Don't Do It." Many European States are having second thoughts.

More than 25 US Governors have made the decision to halt immigration by Syrian refugees into their states until further notice. Governor Jay Inslee of Washington State says the state will not make any changes and is ready to receive the Syrian immigrants.

Is this what Jesus, Paul and others in the Bible were teaching?

There is a great deal that can be said in regard to the meaning of "stranger" and "sojourner" in the Hebrew culture. I have written and spoke about it in depth in the past.

It is inconceivable that putting a nation at risk in this way is consistent with the systematic theology of biblical teaching on "taking in a stranger." Or "extending hospitality to a stranger."

God help us.
