Planned Parenthood Rejoicing Over GOP 2016 Spending Bill...

and so are others on the progressive Left.

The Republican House majority has given America the 2016 spending budget.

On 2009 pages, it details how they intend to spend $1,205,146,000,000.

Planned Parenthood is praising Democrats, who are in the minority in Congress, for successfully giving the progressive Left nearly everything they asked for---including full funding for Planned Parenthood.

What's going on? I thought we were going to de-fund Planned Parenthood, Obamacare and a long list of other far Left programs once we had a majority in the House and Senate.

I'm not the only one wondering about it. Gallup released a survey yesterday that finds most of Americans are fed up with their elected officials---especially Republicans.

Speaker Ryan and Senate Majority Leader McConnell crossed their heart when they told us they would de-fund Planned Parenthood and Obamacare.

While I don't want to belabor the point---they are not doing what they promised.

Speaker Ryan told the press, "Look in divided government, you don't get everything you want."

"Republicans didn't get all they wanted. And Democrats didn't get all they wanted. This is a bipartisan compromise," he said.

It is indeed a compromise.

Gallup published a survey yesterday in which they found only 17% of Democrats approve of the job their elected representatives are doing a good job representing the will of the people.

Only 15% of Republicans approve of their elected representatives.

Speaker Ryan hailed the fact that "we will have bipartisan votes"---but what about the people?

Several conservative organizations have not only read, but studied in depth the 2009 page spending budget and are revealing that it is beyond a compromise---some are calling it a sell out.

The Hill, not a right leaning news organization, expressed surprise that given the intensity of the push to de-fund PP earlier this year, the Republican Party went ahead---business as usual and funded the abortion operation again for 2016.

Both the Freedom Caucus and Pro-Life Caucus pushed hard to include the Abortion Non-Discrimination Act because it would have strengthened protections for organizations that do not want to cover abortions and doctors who do not want to provide them, as well as allowing people to sue if they believe the protections are violated.

Even that was not included in the budget.

The Hill reports, "Pro-abortion rights groups blamed rhetoric in Washington DC for influencing the shooter at the Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic" that killed 3 and wounded 9 people. They say the violence appeared to undercut efforts to reduce funding for Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood Vice President Dana Singiser praised congressional Democrats for "holding the line against these harmful policy riders and cuts to key women's health programs."

The bill includes full funding, including $286 million for Title X family planning. Only a couple of months ago House Republicans were promising this would be eliminated from the 2016 budget.

Abortion.

Singiser said, "Today's budget bill maintains access to critical health services and lacks these harmful attacks on women's health care."

Speaker Ryan and Nancy Pelosi are working together this morning, hoping to get the votes together to pass the betrayal this afternoon.

The best in-depth study of what Ryan, McConnell, Reid and Pelosi are trying to do today comes from the Heritage Foundation "Daily Signal."

This is an overview of their analysis. To look further into their analysis of the spending bill, click the link above.

Heritage experts have combed through the bill’s numerous provisions and have provided their analysis on several key issues below:

  • Higher Spending
  • War Account as Slush Fund
  • Even Higher Spending With Gimmicks
  • Sanctuary Cities Spared
  • No Additional Assurances on Vetting Refugees
  • Risk Corridor Bailouts Avoided
  • Planned Parenthood Affiliates Still Funded
  • Failure to Protect Conscience Rights
  • More Bad Than Good on Energy Provisions
  • Failure on WOTUS (EPA Water Rule)
  • Funding Barred for Unrelated Dietary Guidelines

If this bill is approved late today before elected officials leave for Christmas break, email from our "conservative" elected officials will be coming later this evening and throughout the weekend explaining how they tried, it's complicated...and maybe next time. Thanks for your support.

That isn't good enough.
