U.S. at War With Israel?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

The American people are not at war with Israel, but the Obama Administration seems to be---at least with Israel's current conservative leadership.

William Kristol with the Weekly Standard says, "The Obama Administration is angry with Israel."

Kristol quotes the New York Times, which he calls" the administration's house organ," as affirming how angry the president has become, and why.

It's becoming widely known that President Obama is furious about Speaker of the House John Boehner inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to speak to Congress on the threat of terrorism. He is scheduled to speak in March.

What many may not know is to what length our president is expressing his anger.

The president has now deployed his political "A" team to Israel for the purpose of influencing Israel's elections in March.

The president's efforts are not passive.

Attorney Matt Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, said this week, "I was literally outraged, at the audacity of our president to flagrantly intervene in a foreign nation's election---this time acting against the sovereignty of our most trusted ally in the Middle East."

1 in 3 Disability Recipients Have Mental Disorders--42.9% in DC

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
As dependence on government programs continues to expand, the number of disability recipients is also increasing.

The most recent data report from the Social Security Administration (SSA) reveals that 1 in 3 of those on disability have been diagnosed with a mental disorder.

In Washington DC, it's 42.9%.

The latest data also shows there are 10,228,364 disabled beneficiaries, up 139,364 from the previous year's report.

The percentage of people on disability has increased by 14.3% under the Obama Administration.

Of all disabled beneficiaries, the largest "diagnostic group" is mental disorder.

Which states represent the most and least diagnosed mental disorder cases?

Do we know why?

Obama Lectures India on Religious Freedom

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Before leaving India a day early this week in route to Saudi Arabia, our president's parting words were a plea for freedom of religion to be upheld---in a country with a history of religious strife.

He warned India not to stray from its constitutional commitment to allow people to freely "profess, practice and propagate" religion.

When I catch my breath, I'll tell you what else he said.

Children of Gay Parents Oppose Gay "Marriage" in Federal Court

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
B.N. Klein, Robert Oscar Lopez, Dawn Stefanowicz and Kathy Faust all grew up with homosexual parents.

All four are now arguing to a federal court that redefining marriage to include same-sex couples will harm children by depriving them of a father or mother.

The court is considering whether to uphold traditional marriage---between one man and one woman---in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. This court's ruling is expected in a few months.

The United States Supreme Court has announced it will "consider" gay "marriage" bans in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. Oral arguments will begin in April, with a ruling before the end of the current term in June.

These four have filed an amicus brief with the court pleading that the court uphold natural marriage.

The experiences of these four individuals are not unlike what I have seen as a youth pastor and pastor.

The child in all these cases is deprived of either a father or mother, and is forced to adjust to a home environment that is unnatural and very difficult.

The brief filed with the court by these four, now grown, children of homosexual parents is very revealing and heartbreaking.

It reveals that life is not all about "me."

It is also a statement that gives clear affirmation to why the institution of marriage is sacred. Marriage is about much more than "the right to love whom I want." Or the affirmation of a chosen sexual behavior.

"Shadow of Crises Has Passed": the Response

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
"Today is about humbling ourselves before the Lord," Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal told thousands gathered at Louisiana State University sports arena Saturday.

"Today we repent of our sins," he said.

Governor Jindal told the crowd, "We can't just elect a candidate to fix our country. We can't just pass a law and fix what ails our country. We need a spiritual revival to fix what ails our country."

Tens of thousands were moved to serve God in greater ways as they sang worship choruses and praised God with their hands raised.

Jindal shared how he had converted to Christianity from Hinduism as a result of Billy Graham's ministry, and how he believes only a spiritual revival can save our country.

Not all were blessed by the event.

Homosexuals picketed outside the sports arena because of Jindal's biblical belief on marriage.

But it was the Washington Times that took issue with the governor in a most most public, critical way.

While Thousands Marched

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

While thousands of good, decent, honest pro-life people marched in the streets of America's Capitol yesterday, standing for life, about 20 women abandoned the pro-life Republican ship.

Led by Representative Renee Ellmers R-NC, a group of about 20 Republican women---House colleagues of Ellmers', forced the Republican majority in the House to pull the "Pain Capable Unborn Children Protection Act"---a law that would have banned abortions on children 20 weeks or older in the womb.

This bill was scheduled for a vote on the floor, sure to pass with the Republican majority, while hundreds of thousands marched for life outside on the cold streets of America's Capitol.

Renee, a nurse for 20 years before being elected to Congress, and her husband, a medical doctor, should be well aware that a 20 week old baby feels the pain of abortion.

We all feel the pain of this barbaric procedure at any point after conception.

Many are also feeling the pain of betrayal.

The deception of her actions are very painful---and hopefully informing to voters who believe in life--- and integrity.

While thousands were marching for life, here's the details of what was happening in the corridors of Congress.

Republicans Already Divided Over Abortion Bill

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Forget President Obama's secular progressive pro-abortion, anti-marriage enablers in Congress.

We learned yesterday there is already a division among Republicans on an abortion bill scheduled for debate today.

HR 36, the "Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act," would ban virtually all abortions for pregnancies of 20 weeks or longer.

Associated Press says, "The bill would offer some exceptions, including for victims of rape that have already been reported to authorities."

Rep. Renee Ellmers, R-NC says with the exceptions, "we are questioning the woman's word," and, "We have to be compassionate to women when they're in a crises situation."

The other side of the issue says if the requirement of having had to report the rape to authorities is removed, the bill will have little effect, because in every case a woman could simply claim rape and get the partial birth abortion, which this bill is seeking to eliminate.

House Republicans held a private meeting yesterday to, as AP reports, "work out the rift" before public debate on the bill begins today.

This, in and of itself, is an important bill. It's important to see how those whom we elected vote as well.

It also raises a larger question.

Is it enough for a political candidate to tell us they are "personally opposed to abortion?"

Or, that they are "personally opposed to redefining marriage?"

Should there be linkage between what we claim to believe and what we actually do?

Can Republicans Get it Together and Win?

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Can any conservative, Catholic or Protestant, come away from last night's "State of the Union" address without recognizing America is on the wrong track?

It's deeply concerning to hear the President suggest that the physical borders that define America on the map are actually an impediment to so-called "progress," while celebrating the status of an illegal alien who is the guest of the First Lady---suggesting those who believe in controlling our borders and enforcing our laws are people who have no compassion.

It is equally concerning to witness the incremental "remaking" of our country from being a bastion of the free market to a slave of socialism.

Most concerning to me personally, and to most people of faith, is the assault on religious freedom, Christianity and the Christian principles and values upon which the most free and prosperous nation in human history was founded.

In the Year of our Lord, 2016---that all can change.

But will it? A President Hillary Clinton will not change it---she will advance that destructive agenda.

Only an act of God can turn things around. And God often uses people---like us, to do His work here on Earth.

We must be informed, motivated and prayerful.

The Party seems to be coalescing around Mitt Romney, who has apparently decided to run for a 3rd time after declaring he would not for the past 2 years, and Jeb Bush who, according to the New York Times, recently sought advice from John McCain as to how to win the nomination without "pandering" to the those Republicans on the right.

Can the Republican Party get it together enough to actually nominate a winner?

Scientists On Designer Babies: "Approaching 100% Efficiency"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

The words, "You shall be as God," are again echoing across the cultural landscape.

Scientists announced last week that, "Rapid progress in genetics is making 'designer babies' more likely and society needs to be prepared."

Dr. Tony Perry, a pioneer in cloning, has announced precise DNA editing at the moment of conception in mice.

He says huge advances in the past 2 years means "designer babies" are "no longer H.G. Wells territory."

Designer babies---genetically modified for beauty, intelligence or to be free of disease---have long been a topic of science fiction.

Dr. Perry says, "We're there."

While a number of other scientists agree, some are saying there needs to be considerable public debate to decide what is acceptable.

But what would be the basis of such a debate? Individual preference?

Ethics? If so, whose ethics?

Morality? If so, whose morality?

And, is it fair to deny this to people who want it, based on another person's religious views?

Gay "Marriage"---MLK and the Supreme Court

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

The Supreme Court announced Friday they will take up the issue of so-called "gay marriage" this session. Probably in March with a ruling in June.

USA Today reported, "The Supreme Court agreed Friday to resolve the national debate over same-sex marriage once and for all."

Regardless of their ruling, it will not settle the debate "once and for all."

The model of marriage is already settled. The union of a man and a woman is the first human institution created by God for the sustainability of the human race and human fulfillment.

Every major religion and every successful society has affirmed that model for more than 5,000 years.

The Court will supposedly resolve the "threshold question"---whether homosexuals have a "Constitutional" civil right to marry.

In celebration of America's iconic Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., we wonder how he would feel about the redefinition of marriage.

The answer lies with his closest family members, including his grandfather, a founder of the NAACP.

Spokane PP Workers Laugh as Woman Put in Ambulance

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

While Planned Parenthood workers in Spokane, Washington stood nearby laughing, emergency responders loaded a patient into a waiting ambulance to be rushed to a near-by hospital last week.

The incident happened this past Thursday, which is widely known to be one of the "abortion" days at the clinic.

Mary Sorensen, who volunteers for Sidewalk Advocates for Life in Spokane, told Operation Rescue that Planned Parenthood employees deployed umbrellas trying to prevent her from getting a picture of the incident.

Sorensen says she was astounded by the demeanor of the Planned Parenthood employees---you will be too.
As a result of our article yesterday, we have received a number of inquiries as to whether there are any Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Seattle area or in Washington State. I am aware of 2 new stores that will be opening soon. One at 785 116th Ave. NE in Bellevue opens on March 5, 2015. The other in Lynnwood at 3026 196th ST SW opens April 9, 2015.

Chick-fil-A, Modeling Goodness in America

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Seattle Mayor Ed Murray promised he would, as mayor, do everything legally possible to keep Chick-fil-A restaurants "out of Seattle."

Why?

Because the owners believe marriage is between one man and one woman---and they said so out loud.

When Chick-fil-A announced they were expanding into the Puget Sound area, then Mayor McGinn and mayoral candidate Murray expressed grave concern that such a company would even consider expanding into Seattle.

Murray told KIRO TV 7 in September 2013, "I'm stunned," while McGinn called the owners of Chick-fil-A "bigots."

Yet it is this 2000+ restaurant chain that continues to model the values of love and caring that Murray and other openly homosexual activists claim they believe.

Last Wednesday---January 7, was a bitterly cold day in Birmingham, Ala.

As usual, the Chick-fil-A on Highway 280 in the suburb of Inverness, was filled with customers.

Most customers hardly noticed when the man slipped in out of the cold.

Then it happened.

Transgender Show Wins Best TV Series Globe Award

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Parents and grandparents beware.

While you were at church Sunday, the television industry gave the Golden Globe Award for "Best Television Series---Musical or Comedy" to Amazon for their new show "Transparent."

"Transparent" is a new original drama created by Amazon about a family struggling with its father's admission that he is transgender.

You may recall that Jeff Bezos, the founder and chairman of Amazon, gave $2.5 million to the campaign to redefine marriage in Washington State.

He also purchased the Washington (DC) Post this past year. Clearly he has an agenda.

The industry is saying this will put Amazon's new venture into producing original television shows "on the map."

Hopefully it will also put parents and grandparents on high alert.

I few things you should know about the push by television to normalize perversion by indoctrinating the public---specifically our kids.

God and Sports

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Not everybody is an athlete.

However, an estimated 2.5 billion people on earth watch sports on television.

It is said, the remaining 4.5 billion would like to but don't have television access.

Nowhere in America is the interest in football higher than it is right here in the Northwest---at least now.

The Seattle Seahawks won their game Saturday and will play the Green Bay Packers next Sunday for the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl, again.

The University of Oregon plays Ohio State tonight for the national college championship.

The Seahawks are as famous for their fans as they are for their play on the football field.

Tens of thousands of fans from the Northwest have traveled to Dallas, Texas to attend the Oregon-Ohio State game, while thousands more are making plans to attend the Super Bowl hoping that Seattle will make it again this year.

Millions will watch tonight's college championship game, while hundreds of millions will watch the Super Bowl on television in a few weeks.

Is there an intersection between God and sports?

Pastor's "Bible Cabaret" Comedy Show Goes on the Road

Pastor Jane Voigts tried out her newly created "Bible Cabaret" show in Hollywood. The venue was a club called FAKE Gallery. She says it was well received.

Now the pastor is taking her show on the road.

"As a former professional comedian," she says, "I have long had an interest in the idea and scholarship about 'the comedy of the Bible' , even the notion that the Bible 'IS' comedy."

So what does the reverend think is so comedic about the Bible, that people will pay to see her exploit it?

Well, among other things, she says "The Fall of Man" is hilarious.

Christians Weren't Fooled a Second Time, Film "Exodus" Bombs

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

Atheist director Darren Aronosfsky fooled many Christians into buying tickets to see his version of "NOAH" in theaters a few months ago. The film took in $44 million the opening weekend. Then things went downhill. People who saw the film told friends to skip it because NOAH, according to Aronosfsky, was a crazed, angry environmentalist who even considers slaughtering his own family.

Aronosfsky portrayed God as an enviro-terrorist, and anti-human.

Simultaneously, Hollywood was heavily investing in the next "biblical" film---"Exodus," which released a few weeks ago.

More on "Exodus" in a moment, but you should know this:
Planned Parenthood is moving out of Issaquah (WA.). They have closed their clinic.
They sent out this message: "Thank you for your patronage. As of Dec. 30th, 2014, Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest will no longer be providing services at our Issaquah location."
In September, the folks at Issaquah Prayer for Life posted this message on their Facebook page:
"From Sept. 24---Nov. 2, 2014: We will be holding a 40 day prayer vigil at the Issaquah Planned Parenthood clinic at 75 Dogwood St. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays."
God has answered their prayers.
Believing they had cracked the code as to how to tell tens of millions of Christians and their pastors that they were making a "biblical film" just for them, Hollwood and these producers proceeded to make a film that reflected their own rebellion against God and the people who follow Him.

However, it isn't working out exactly as planned. The code has been cracked, but not by the atheists who gave us "NOAH " and "Exodus."

"God is on the Ropes: Christians Terrified"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

The article is titled, "God is on the Ropes: The Brilliant New Science that has Creationists and the Christian Right Terrified."

The subtitle reads, "A young MIT professor is finishing Darwin's task---and threatening to undo everything the wacky right holds dear."

Paul Rosenberg, writing for the far left secular progressive publication "Salon," is dreaming and hoping.

Over the centuries God has shown Himself remarkably resilient to every attempt to kill Him, dispatch Him and delete Him from the human narrative.

He will survive this latest effort to discredit and diminish Him.

However, this new "breakthrough theory" is headed for the classroom for discussion, and ultimately into textbooks in some form.

I am a "Creationist" and consider myself on the Christian right, however, I am not terrified that Professor England will "undo everything" I hold dear.

What I believe is much bigger than Dr. England.

I am concerned, however, in how quickly this new theory will hit the classroom and how quickly it will evolve from theory to fact.

While most who read this may not be persuaded either way on the issue because your mind is pretty well made up, children and grandchildren may be, given the power and persuasion of the government run classroom.

Interestingly, history clearly shows that natural sciences have actually thrived in Christian cultures, while it has been censored in non-Christian cultures.

Our concern is not for God and His survival, it is because we have learned just how far secular progressives will go in bending the truth to advance their theories, and, as they say, a child's mind (and life) is a terrible thing to waste.

Planned Parenthood And Racism: "We've Come A Long Way"

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF
Planned Parenthood is reporting they had a great year in 2014.

However, that all depends on how you define "greatness."

Their report begins with this:

"We've come a long way since Margaret Sanger was jailed in 1916 for opening America's first birth control clinic. Today 99% of sexually active American women at some point in their lives use birth control---and, thanks to Planned Parenthood and the Affordable Care Act [Obamacare], more than 48 million women are now eligible to receive it with no co-pay."

The report continues, "Thanks to your support, our movement has come so far in nearly one hundred years---and we are building momentum."

While the abortion industry has been forced to close many abortion clinics across the country, it is true Planned Parenthood aborted more babies this year than last---in fact, they aborted 1 baby every 90 seconds last year.

Clearly PP does not mean they have moved "away" from founder Margaret Sanger's racism and eugenicist beliefs in regard to aborting unborn black babies.

Planned Parenthood clinics across the country have recently promised donors to use their donation to specifically abort a "black baby."

Dr. Alveda King, MLK's niece, says, "The most obvious practitioner of racism in the United States today is Planned Parenthood founded by the eugenicist Margaret Sanger and recently documented as ready to accept money to eliminate black babies."

Is Planned Parenthood actually "building momentum?"

Did you know that you, as a tax payer, are investing heavily in Planned Parenthood? If you don't know, you should know. And you should know how much.

Obamacare is yet another government funded tool to support and help finance this "momentum" and "greatness."

Getting Rid Of The Tree

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

I was amused as I glanced at the message from the Washington State Secretary of State's office.

She meant well, I'm sure.

Her message read:

"As Blood Sweat & Tears once sang, 'what goes up must come down.' That was the case with this year's Holiday Kids Tree, which was removed by DES workers Monday morning after the 25 foot Noble fir stood tall in the Legislative Building rotunda the past four weeks."

Both the picture and the message illustrated, although that was not necessarily intended, that when Christmas isn't Christmas, that's what you do the morning after---you pack it up and remove it---what goes up must come down.

But when Christmas "is" Christmas, it isn't a tree, it's a message. I agree, it's time to get rid of the tree, But the message will be our guiding light in what is sure to be a challenging and likely chaotic year ahead.

The message must linger because Christianity is a journey, not an event.

A personal word on this first day of 2015.
