Man, Woman and the Great Pretenders

US Attorney General Loretta Lynch told North Carolina, the state's Governor, the court, and America this week, "None of us can stand by when a state enters the business of legislating identity and insists that a person pretends to be something or someone they are not."

But who are the great pretenders?

In her legal attack on the NC Governor who refused to veto and the state legislature who passed the bill, US A/G Lynch said, "And what we must not do, what we must never do, is turn on our neighbors, our family members, our fellow Americans for something that they cannot control and deny what makes them human."

The lack of self-control does not equate to a civil right, nor does it make someone human. That is why the American Psychiatric Association considered transgenderism a mental illness until 2013.

But Lynch is, in fact, defending those who "are" pretending to be something that---biologically---they are not.

A man "identifying" as a woman is not a biological woman.

A woman "identifying" as a man is not a biological man.

At least not until we entered the era of "Obamaworld"----a land based on wishes, emotions and feelings---absent the facts.

Whether it concerns a deal with Iran, ensuring them a path to becoming a nuclear power or the uncomfortable ordeal of a national discussion about what is a man and what is a woman, President Obama lives in a state of denial.

Lynch says this "is about a great deal more than bathrooms."

She even invokes the intent of the Founders of this nation--"And it's about the founding ideals that have led this country haltingly, but inexorably, in the direction of fairness, inclusion and equality for all Americans."

And, she says, "North Carolina's 'discriminatory' response to transgenders is no different than discrimination against blacks and homosexuals."

I think most Americans understand that Martin Luther King, Jr., did not march on Selma so that grown men and boys could march into girls changing rooms and showers.

Does she not know that millions of women (actual women-not pretend) and girls are being denied their rights to privacy? And being put at risk by men (actual men) who can exploit this insanity and troll through women's bathrooms and locker rooms pretending to "identify" as a woman?

She says this is "about protecting us all."

But it isn't really about protecting all of us. It's really about advancing an agenda under the guise of protecting 0.03% of the population while putting at risk 157 million (2010 census) women and girls---she's pretending it's about protecting all of us.

She says, "Some of these responses [negative ones] reflect a recognizably human fear of the unknown and a discomfort with the uncertainty of change."

"But," she says, "this is not a time to act out of fear. This is a time to summon our national virtues of inclusively, of diversity, of compassion and open-mindedness."

Those opposing this "fundamental transformation" of society are not acting out of fear, rather out of fact---and common sense.

She further accuses North Carolina, the Governor and all American people of "pretending to be concerned about women and girls, when in fact the concern is a cover for bigotry."

"And this is why none of us can stand by when a state enters the business of legislating identity and insists that a person pretend to be something or someone that they are not or"-- get this---"invents a problem that does not exist as a pretext for discrimination and harassment."

She also told the state of North Carolina that if they do not go along with the charade, she retains the option of "curtailing federal funding to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety and the University of North Carolina as this case proceeds."

If her goal is "safety," why would she defund the Department of Public Safety?

Terence Jeffrey raises the real question concerning our Founders.

He asks, did they not give birth to this nation on the truth that "all men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights" and that the purpose of government is to protect those rights. Not create new evolved rights?

He notes that the case the Justice Department has filed, should it make it to the Supreme Court of the United States---and many believe it will---the Court will ultimately be considering, "What is a man and what is a woman?"

Jeffery says the "laws of nature and nature's God answered that question a long time ago. But President Obama's Justice Department has a different opinion."

This "problem" was invented.

But not by conservatives and Christians as a pretext for discrimination and harassment, as MS. Lynch says. It was invented by those far left progressive warriors who are determined to pretend that one's gender is somehow arrived at over time, not designated at conception and confirmed at birth.

And it is a vehicle to further the progressive dream.

As I was thinking about this issue---again, I remembered a song from the distant past. The Four Platters sang it. Freddie Mercury, I believe, wrote it.

The Great Pretender.

Oh yes, I'm the great pretender,
Pretending I'm doing well,
My need is such I pretend too much
I'm lonely, but no one can tell.

Oh yes I'm the great pretender
Just laughing and gay like a clown
I seem to be what I'm not you see...

More importantly, I remembered, "Then God said, 'Let us make man in Our Image and Our likeness'...So God created man in His own Image; in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them."

Clearly the transgendered people need help, but not at the expense of the majority of Americans, particularly 157 million women and girls in restrooms and locker rooms.

God Help us.
