State Sues Fed. Gov't. Over "Bathroom" Law--Obama Accelerates Campaign

North Carolina filed a lawsuit yesterday against Obama's Justice Department of Justice.

It's about time. It had to happen.

Obama says boys have a civil right to wander in and out of girls locker rooms and bathrooms if they "identify" as a girl.

NC Governor Pat McCrory says, "No, they don't, nor does the Department of Justice have the right to unilaterally re-write long-established federal civil rights laws..."

The Governor's action has national implication from Washington State to North Carolina to Chicago and elsewhere across the country where efforts to make this insanity appear to be sane are underway.

And we are now learning that the Obama administration is stepping up his campaign to change the laws and social expectations about sexual development of children in public schools--- without parental notification.

As you well know, anywhere anyone takes a stand against the "bathroom" bill, the fury of the far Left social engineers strikes out to subdue or destroy.

In NC, Springsteen canceled a sold-out concert, other musicians said, "Me too." College and professional sports organizations threatened to strike at the economy of the state by moving events to other states if NC didn't comply. Hollywood and Disney said they would pull out of the state, and the list of so-called "civil rights advocates" has continued to grow with threats to bring the state to its knees economically---and otherwise.

Yesterday morning, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory filed a suit against the Department of Justice which says in part, "The Department's position is a baseless and blatant overreach of the federal government."

The suit also says, "This is an attempt to unilaterally rewrite long-established federal civil rights laws in a manner that is wholly inconsistent with the intent of Congress and disregards decades of statutory interpretation by the courts."

The state law (passed by the state legislature in March and signed by the governor) presently requires transgender people to use bathrooms that correspond with the sex on their birth certificate. And it applies to government offices, universities, and roadside stops, not every bathroom in the state.

But it doesn't matter whether it applies to every bathroom or not---the civil rights march through the bathroom has begun---even one little restriction on a transgender is one too many.

Sunday, Gov. McCrory told Fox News that the Justice Department had written him a letter Wednesday stating that the new NC law violates federal civil rights laws.

He said he asked the Justice Department for an extension and was given only until close of the business day Monday.

He said, "I don't think 3 working days is enough time for a pretty big threat---It's the federal government being the bully, making law."

He also said he "doesn't have the legal authority to change laws and that the expectation that he can is 'unrealistic'."

The federal government has apparently become so accustomed to changing law to comply with Obama's social agenda that they forget how our system of government was intended to function.

He also said the administration's warning means the issue is no longer confined to North Carolina.

It never was.

The administration is expected by those who are close to this campaign to soon take the bathroom issue further, to ensure that transgender student rights "are fully protected under federal law."

How much more "fully" can the government take this?

It is said that Obama's next move will be related to a federal law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in federally funded education programs and activities, and multiple agencies will be involved.

Roger Severino, the director of the DeVos Center for Religion and Civil Society at the Heritage Foundation, wrote an article on the Chicago schools a couple of days ago.

His article is very informative and enlightening, giving a history of how we have gotten to this point.

He says, "Put concretely, boys now have the 'right' to undress in the girl's locker room before gym class so long as they say they would feel more comfortable doing so. Kids and teens have many things to worry about as they grow up into adulthood and get an education. But having to deal with people of the opposite sex in their bathrooms and showers shouldn't be one of them."

He's right, it shouldn't.

But it is.

What is driving this insanity?

A lot of people are asking the same question, including 86-year-old Pat Robertson on his "700 Club" yesterday.

He said why has this issue become a "big cause celebre?" He said, "Why does the Justice Department get involved? Why does the federal government come in with the mandates? I mean what in the world is this?"

Then he answered his own question: "It's the constant driving of the agenda of anti-Christian bias. We're going to destroy any semblance of the Christian morality that exists in our country, and our government is going to be at the forefront of it."

He's right.

Severino answers Robertson's question with this: "This latest front in the bathroom wars proves that same-sex marriage was merely the start, not the end, of the Left's LGBT agenda. As demonstrated by enforcement actions by the Department of Justice, private lawsuits, and court decisions, the radical Left is using government power to coerce children into pledging allegiance to a radical new gender ideology over and above their right to privacy, safety, and religious freedom."

Pat told his "700 Club" audience yesterday, "It's like, who cares? You've got certain organs. So if you've got those organs, you go to the bathroom designated for people who have that type of equipment. It's no big deal."

I've known Pat a long time. It shouldn't be a big deal. There was a time when it wasn't, but today, it is a big deal.

Certainly to the young girls who will, without doubt,---probably sooner than later, be exposed to a boy undressing in their school locker room because he feels an urge to "identify" (maybe even with a wink, wink) as a girl.

There are already accounts of boys or men in women's dept. store dressing rooms taking pictures of girls in the next booth trying on clothes.

How long before a young girl or adult woman is assaulted by a confused, crazed man identifying as a woman, using his new found "civil right" as an opportunity?

Severino frames the issue like this: "The Left, for years, claimed that all they wanted was for the LGBT persons to be left alone, but this was the lie."

Breitbart News says Politico, not a conservative news organization, has reported that "President Obama will step up his campaign to change the laws and social expectations about the sexual development of children in public schools."

Politico says that Obama's agenda goes much further than allowing a few "transgender" youths to use bathrooms or locker rooms reserved for kids of the opposite sex.

They report the new rules will restrict and suppress the views of the vast majority of normal students, and will create procedures to keep parents in the dark about their kid's government-supported experiments in "gender identity."

As this information is leaking back to parents from some school administrators, it appears Obama is resurrecting old laws intended to bar sexual discrimination into new kinds of laws that provide federal support and legal protection for people who wish to change their "gender identity" into something between male and female.

There's much more. Parents and grandparents--please read the complete article linked above.
Late yesterday afternoon, just hours after North Carolina's Governor had filed suit against the federal government---the federal government filed suit against him and the state.

"It is now clear," Severino says, "that liberals and their enablers will not leave anyone alone and will use the full force of the courts, lawsuits, and government to ensure any resistance to their new gender identity ideology 'will result in appropriate consequences'."
