71% Dems Say Hillary Should Run Even If Indicted

But it's worse than that---50% of "all" voters think she should continue to run for office even if she is indicted.

Are we now at a point where in this "country of laws" that 50% of all voters and 71% of Democrats feel fidelity to law is not so important anymore?

Or do they simply doubt she has done anything wrong?

The latest Rasmussen Reports survey finds that 43% of likely voters think Clinton should immediately stop campaigning if she is charged with a felony in connection with her use of a private email server while Secretary of State.

However, 50% think she should keep running until a court determines her guilt or innocence.

Among Democrat voters, 71% feel she should continue to run, but only 31% of Republicans agree, and 46% of unaffiliated voters agree.

Interestingly, 40% of all voters say they are less likely to vote for Hillary because of the e-mail scandal, and 48% say it will have no impact on the way they vote.

About 8% say they are more likely to vote for Hillary because of the email scandal.

Obviously, in all these numbers there are variables as to how these people came to these conclusions, however, this scandal does raise the issue of how important is "the law" in 2016s America?

About 3000 years of history shows us that civilizations rise but eventually fall and die.

In the history of the world, nations have either been conquered by other nations or have collapsed into anarchy.

Jim Nelson Black, in his book, "When Nations Die," Black writes, "As I have looked back across the ruins and landmarks of antiquity, I have been stunned by the parallels between those societies and our own. For most of us the destruction of Carthage, the rise of Greek city-states, and the Fall of Rome are mere ghosts of the past, history lessons long forgotten."

Or revised in our American history textbooks.

"But," Black says, "Within those eras and movements are the seeds of the troubles we face today."

Black wrote the book, and I first read the book in 1994. While much has changed in our culture, unfortunately, the trends have not. And Black defines the trends. They are not only familiar to people of faith who love America but familiar to historians who know the paths of Greece and Rome.

There are a number of different reasons societies or cultures fall, but one consistent is the abandonment of religion.

All of the great nations of history have had some kind of religious form. Egypt worshiped nature gods and goddesses, Greece and Rome had their pantheon of pagan deities. India, China, and other societies all demonstrate the principle that civilization arises from religion.

This is why one of our own Founders, John Adams, said, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

When the traditional beliefs of a nation erode, that nation dies.

Distinguished historian Will Durant once said, "There is no significant example in history, before our time, of a society successfully maintaining moral life without the aid of religion."

If this is true with nations who have worshiped false gods of their own making---and it is, it is exponentially more true for those who worship and claim the One True God.

Unfortunately, this nation has, in recent years, embarked on a journey to maintain a society without a religious code.

The Ten Commandments are consistently torn from the walls and landscape of "government" property and the public square, in the name of "separation of church and state."

Christian principles once taught in our public school system are not only no longer taught but mocked and ridiculed in America's classrooms.

Black, in his book, identifies 3 aspects of decay---social decay, cultural decay and moral decay.

I'll be talking more about these 3 aspects on our live radio program today. Please join me live at 9 AM PDT on the air, on your computer or on your phone from anywhere in the world.

We will discuss:

Social Decay.

Three important trends demonstrate social decay.

  1. The crises of lawlessness
  2. The loss of economic discipline
  3. Rising Bureaucracy

Cultural Decay.

Four important trends demonstrate cultural decay.

  1. Decline of Education
  2. Weakening of Cultural Foundations
  3. Loss of respect for tradition
  4. Materialism

Moral Decay.

Three important trends demonstrate moral decay.

  1. Rise in Immorality
  2. Decay of Religious Belief
  3. The Devaluing of Human Life

In his study of history, Arnold Toynbee describes a predictable pattern of what he called "challenge and response."

For a moment---just a moment---forget Hillary and Trump and Bernie and Johnson, and whoever the Bill Kristol "never Trump" people are promising to announce this week.

Will we follow the path to renewal and restoration, or will we stagger and stumble down the path to national decay and ultimate societal death?

That decision doesn't begin with politicians seeking the presidency of the United States---

It ultimately begins with you---and me---and a decision as to whether we will pray, repent, seek forgiveness and experience healing. And yes, will we stand against the decay in out nation?

But more importantly, are we willing to stand "for" the Kingdom of God and His righteousness in our decaying culture?

Be Prayerful. Be Thoughtful. Be Bold. Be Blessed.
