Michelle and Barrack- Defining Greatness

In her speech to the Democrats Monday evening, First Lady Michelle Obama said, "Right now this is the greatest country on earth."

Last week, speaking to the world at the White House Summit on Global Development, President Obama said, "We are living in the most peaceful" era in human history and that "the world has never been less violent."

The proverb reminds us that..."from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks?"

After these politically motivated words were mouthed---the abundance of their hearts spoke.

Personal Note: My long time friend--- pastor and best selling author Tim LaHaye has passed away following a severe stroke. He was 90. He was a great inspiration to me personally and to the more than 50 million people who bought and read his books. He will be missed. Pray for Beverly and the family.

First Lady Michelle Obama told the Democratic Convention Monday evening, "Don't let anyone ever tell you that this country isn't the greatest, that somehow we need to make it great again. Because this right now is the greatest country on earth."

The irony of her proclamation is that she had just spoken about bullies and "hateful language from public figures," and spoke of how she awakens every morning in the White House---"a house built by slaves."

She spoke of "Black SUVs and big men with guns."

"Right now," is the operative word.

You will likely remember it was Mrs. Obama who, on the campaign trail with her husband in 2008, said, "For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback."

A picture that has gone viral from the recent White House Correspondent's Dinner---the last for the Obamas, shows a Mrs. Obama who may be slipping back into the "not proud" ranks as she stands for "The Star Spangled Banner." Perhaps the mask is starting to slip.

Mrs Obama declared that this election is "about who will have the power to shape our children for the next four or eight years of their lives."

Does she really believe it is "the government" that is tasked with "shaping our children?"

Yes. She does. And so does every other far Left progressive---including Hillary Clinton.

And Michelle's husband.

This administration has done more to undermine the foundations of this country than any president in history.

He has assaulted marriage, the cornerstone of the human race and its sustainability. And in doing so has shaken his fist in the face of God who created mankind and instituted marriage as only between a man and a woman.

And he has called it "equality"--- shaking his fist in the face of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. as well.

Mr. Obama's administration, in alliance with Planned Parenthood, has undermined parental authority in ways never before seen in our country.

Michelle's husband has remade our finest institutions---education, the military, even the family, into experimental laboratories of social re-engineering.

His words and deeds have betrayed this political rhetoric as he has traveled the world apologizing for America---and bowing before our sworn enemies.

He has devalued life in our culture with his obsessive commitment to expanding abortion.

Perhaps in the world of the Obamas,' America is great "right now"--- but their words and deeds over the past 8 years and more betray their current political speak.

Last week President Obama said at the White House Summit on Global Development, "We are living in the most peaceful" era in human history and that "the world has never been less violent."

It has never been "better educated, more tolerant, and more prosperous," the president says, describing our times as the most "progressive" times in history, because we have never been "more connected."

Does he really believe that?

He said although this has been "a couple of tough weeks, not just here in the United States but around the world [referring to ongoing terrorist attacks]. And that's being amplified to some degree during the political season. So I think maybe it's worth stepping back for a moment."

In "stepping back for a moment," President Obama admits that "this is a challenging time"...but even what he defines as challenges are ideological challenges to his quest for globalism.

He describes our challenges as those related to the " international order that is buffeted by all different kinds of events" that is creating "a sense that globalization is leaving too many people behind and expanding inequality within countries, even if we are seeing progress in the aggregate."

Personally, I don't understand how a priest being beheaded during mass yesterday morning in France, a doctor shot in a hospital in Germany, a truck driver running down hundreds of people at the beach in Nice, France as they celebrate freedom, Americans being targeted and killed regularly, the endless, daily violence around the world by radical Islamic terrorists and the assault on religious freedom here at home by homosexual activists and this president as translating to "peaceful" or "less violent" or "more tolerant" times.

Only in the mind of the far left secular progressive globalist.

Mrs. Obama's final word to the Democrat Convention was, "So look, so don't let anyone ever tell you that this country isn't great, that some how we need to make it great again. Because this right now is the greatest country on earth."

As Bill Clinton would probably say---"It all depends on what the word 'great' means."

This election transcends politics, political parties---and personalities.

It is about the very survival of America as our Founders envisioned it and we have known it.

Our individual vote in November will determine what we believe the meaning of the word 'great" is.

It will also set a course for America that will impact our children, grandchildren and beyond.

Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life."

Verse 24 that follows is not so often quoted, but equally instructional: "Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk from you."

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Prayerful. Be Blessed.
