Planned Parenthood Claims "Faith Leaders" Support Their Agenda

Following President Trump's executive order on "Promoting Free Speech and Religious Liberty" earlier this month, Planned Parenthood issued a press release which highlighted PP's "Clergy Advocacy Board" noting that the members of that board are "dedicated clergy and faith leaders" and are "leading a national effort to increase public awareness of the theological and moral basis for advocating reproductive health."

This is a snapshot of how deception works.

Soon after President Trump issued his executive order on "Promoting Free Speech and Religious Liberty," which includes potential "conscience protections" for those with religious objections to certain health care mandates, Planned Parenthood issued a press release of their own.

In it they noted that "dedicated clergy and faith leaders from different denominations and communities throughout the US" not only support the PP agenda---including their priority "health care" item (abortion), but are leading an effort to increase public awareness of the theological and moral basis for advocating so-called reproductive health---even providing a biblical basis for abortion.

They expressed fear that Trump's order will lead to "employers, schools, and other entities refusing to cover women's preventative health services, including birth control in their insurance plans on the basis of religious or moral objection."

The irony of citing religious freedom as a reason to prevent employers from choosing the type of insurance coverage they want to offer to employees seems to be lost on this Clergy Advisory Board.

This country has a long and vital tradition of religious freedom that protects personal beliefs without allowing the imposition of harms on others. Yet, this executive order signals that the administration wants to give employers the right to disregard their employees’ own personal beliefs and invade their privacy. It is unacceptable to point to “religious liberty” as an excuse to limit women’s access to health care.

Their clergy advisers seem to have no problem citing morality and even theology as a reason to compel employers to disregard their own personal beliefs and invade the beliefs of business owners with the beliefs of Planned Parenthood and their Clergy Advocacy Board.

This is the clergy message on Planned Parenthood's web site to women seeking spiritual and biblical counsel on the matter of abortion:

Clergy Advocacy Board Statement
Pastoral Letter to Patients

Dear Friend:

The decision to have an abortion is personal. Though your reasons may be complicated and private, you’re not alone. As religious leaders from a number of religious traditions, we’re here to support you in your decision.

Many people wrongly assume that all religious leaders disapprove of abortion. The truth is that
abortion is not even mentioned in the Scriptures — Jewish or Christian — and there are clergy
and people of faith from all denominations who support women making this complex decision.

The beliefs of each person are deserving of respect, and each person deserves care and
compassion, No one should be allowed to force their faith teachings on anyone else.

We believe this decision is yours, made with your doctor and anyone else you choose to bring
into the conversation, such as a spouse, partner, parent, or clergyperson.

Our religious traditions have somewhat different opinions about abortion, but we share some
basic understandings:

 No one knows the circumstances of your life as well as you know them;
no one knows what’s in your heart better than you. Allow yourself to be at
peace with your decision.

 God loves you and is with you no matter what you decide. You can find
strength, understanding, and comfort in that love.

If you’d like to speak with a clergyperson, your local Planned Parenthood health center can refer
you to someone who will be supportive of you and your decision. Your privacy will be protected
and all conversations will be completely confidential.

Our hope for you is for peace in your heart.

The religious (Christian) Left is deceiving an uninformed Christian church today.

Last fall, Dr. Alveda King (MLK's niece) and 690 other Christian leaders released a letter calling on so-called "progressive" or the Religious Left, to "repent" for the damage these "leaders" are doing to the cause of Christ.

The authors of the letter explicitly named those "ministries and organizations" that are driving the kinds of messages seen above in Planned Parenthood's "Pastoral Letter To Patients."

Many are and have been funded by billionaire, anti-American, anti-Christian, globalist George Soros.

The authors of the letter quote MLK: "In contrast to ethical relativism, Christianity sets forth a system of absolute moral values. We need to recapture the gospel glow of the early Christians who were non-conformists....Their powerful gospel put an end to such barbaric evils as infanticide...Finally, they captured the Roman Empire for Jesus Christ."
