2019: The Year of Light and Darkness

As we conclude the turbulent year of 2018 and launch the new year of 2019, the gap between Truth and deception will deepen and widen.

It will be interpreted as "political differences" by a confused and activist media.

The divide transcends politics.

French President Macron defined the moment by presenting deception as truth in his speech in Paris 7 weeks ago. The new leadership of our House of Representatives are promising to advance Macron's lie.

2019 is a year when people of faith must be informed and discerning.

Here's the issue that will drive the widening and deepening cultural division.

In a speech at Hillsdale College last month, college President Larry Arn told his conservative college student body and the world through the press,
"As we reach the end of this turbulent year, the uproar of the hour against the nation-state, and not for the first time, 'World leaders' are now accustomed to call for the subordination of the nation to the good of the globe."

He said this call is "amplified by the media and intellectual elites, who march in lockstep."

Their call to globalism is a promise of utopia and a new age of global peace, prosperity and cooperation.

Arn says if they are wrong, the free nations of the world will lose the remnants of democratic accountability that have kept them free.

With world leaders gathered in Paris this past Armistice Day, French President Macron became a global sensation as a result of his keynote speech. It was reported repeatedly around the world.

He spoke of WWI and the military run up that followed. He described how the idea of nations and borders has caused war, while globalism will bring peace and utopia.

Here is the key passage of the speech:
"In the dark hours, that vision of France as a generous nation, of France as a project, of France promoting universal values, was the exact opposite of the egotism of a people who look after only their interests, because patriotism is the exact opposite of nationalism: nationalism is a betrayal of it."

Is patriotism really the opposite of nationalism?

No. Macron is either uninformed or is purposefully misleading the press and the world.

Patriotism is not the opposite of nationalism.

The word "nation" comes from the Latin word "natus," which means birth or "to be born." In its root, "nation" is the place where one is born. "Natus" is also the root of the word "nature" which means how and what a thing comes to be and therefore what it is. Nature and nation are connected terms.

The nature of man is to have a nation. It is clear in biblical teaching from Genesis to the book of Acts, and the book of Revelation, that God has designed nationhood as His global model for humanity.

The classical thinkers, philosophers and wise men have understood and taught that concept until more modern times.

French Philosopher Montesquieu said of laws as a standard of behavior: "Laws should be so appropriate to the people for whom they are made that it is very unlikely that laws of one nation can suit another."

Macron distorts the meaning of nationalism in order to condemn it---to be in-sync with a growing worldview of Marxist style globalism.

He and his fellow globalists call it a new age of global well being.

Globalism isn't a path to well being, and it isn't new. Nor is it biblical.

During the last presidential election, the concern over Hillary's push for globalism became a deep concern for many of us who heard "religious Left" Christians saying they could not vote for Trump because of his personal indiscretions and immoral acts and intended to vote for Hillary. And several million of them did.

The New York Times even weighed in on the matter explaining how globalism is a better path to equality and global well being.

The Christian Post carried an extensive article quoting several leading Christian, biblical pastors and leaders on the subject.

Pastor Wallace Henly of Second Baptist Church in Houston, has written extensively on the subject and was quoted in the Post article.

Henly says, "A major objection to globalism from a spiritual and biblical point of view is that many of the globalists are pushing for a global value system."

Globalism, as it is being presented by world leaders today, is a duplicate of the biblically described agenda of the antichrist in Revelation. And it parallels the failed idea of Nimrod in Genesis.

Henely says, "The Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ is the highest form of civilization. The anti-civilization represented by anti-Christ is the exact opposite of that."

The Kingdom of Christ is righteousness. The kingdom of anti-Christ is anti-civilization, evil and injustice.

The Kingdom of Christ is peace, the kingdom of anti-Christ is conflict.

The Kingdom of Christ is joy in His Holy Spirit. Anti-civilization is misery, depression and fear.

In an 18-point essay that went viral, Pastor Jim Garlow of Skyline Methodist Church in San Diego outlined that the threat of globalism by the Left was one major reason biblical Christians voted for Trump. The other was obviously the Supreme Court. Trump opposes globalism, whereas Hillary thrives on it.

Garlow says:
"Globalism is far more than 'geographical' or 'eliminating national borders and boundaries'. It is spiritual and demonic at its core. Few---very few---understand this. This is quiet likely one of the main reasons Trump is hated. Do your homework on this one. Think 'principalities and powers'."

Yesterday, (January 1, 2019), Dennis Prager published an article in which he said, "I rarely make predictions---whether of election results or anything else. My policy has always been to say what I believe 'should' be done, not what 'will' be done."

He said, "I am making an exception with regard to America in 2019."

"2019 will be a dark year in America," he predicts.

In his article he outlines that the "darkness" will be created by hatred toward Trump---hearings, exposes, criminal investigations, possible indictments---anyone associated with President Trump will be targeted---And he says, "Truth will not be the point. Defamation will."

I believe all of this is true.

However, I also believe that 2019 will "not" be a year of "darkness" for those who are biblically informed.

John wrote (1:5), "And the light shines in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it ."

He also writes that John was sent to bear witness to that Light---"That was the true light which gives light to every man coming into the world."

In the coming year, those who do not comprehend the Light, will indeed walk in darkness. Those who embrace the light of God and His Truth will walk in that light---not the darkness of the world.

Informed, transformed believers will walk in His light and peace and understanding. The uninformed---those conformed to this world, will surely walk in fear and chaos.

It is written, "Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world."

Be Informed. Be Discerning. Be Vigilant. Be Prayerful. Be Free.

  1. Thank you Gary for bringing together people who have been crying in the wilderness about globalism. Many of us have been speaking against globalism for decades, and people have their heads in the sand and won't listen. Perhaps 2019 is the year when Cristians wake up and see the truth and the real enemy. Globalism is absolutely spiritual and of anti Christ .

  2. Simple truth...

Globalism MUST mean a totalitarian government. One set of rulers and law makers for all mankind. There would be NO ALTERNATIVE for ANYONE in the world to get away from that rule. ANYTHING the elite decide for the masses becomes a mandate that will be enforced by a centralized power. No half-rational person can think this thru but to realize that power ALWAYS becomes corrupted. With multiple nations, people can get away from corruption to go elsewhere. Those same people who want the U.S. to allow all the asylum seekers to be allowed the benefit of freedom and a better life in America to have it just for the asking are the same people who are in favor of a government where people have no alternative to get away from corruption and mistreatment.

There is a very good argument for the fact that a Global Government is absolutely the "WORST" idea to ever come down the pike. Protagonists are simply asking for their own destruction, holding on to the belief that for some reason a centralized all powerful government of men and women would never use their power for selfish reasons, never enslave the masses for their comfort, never construct a legal system that only serves the elite and privileged, and never be brutal in enforcement of their will on the subjects of the world.

Insanity fueled by the psychosis of wishful thinking taken to an extreme.

    Suicidal...

    Truth is a lonely warrior....
