Speaker Pelosi: "Different World for Trump"

Basking in her power regained, new Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi told USA Today, NBC and anyone else who would listen, that the president is facing "a different world" now that she and the Democrats control the House.

She also explained that she is a very skilled politician and would be setting a new agenda.

Christians and conservatives should be informed regarding a number of Nancy's issues that will create the "different world" she promises.

Pelosi told USA Today, "President Donald Trump can expect a 'different world' from the first two years of his presidency when the GOP controlled both chambers of Congress."

She said she plans to confront Trump "on many issues," including "investigating the deaths of immigrant children in US custody to demanding Trump's tax returns and protecting special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe."

She told the paper, "Trump has warned that investigations of him and his administration would lead to a 'war-like posture' in Washington," but she made it clear she will not shrink from a fight.

Pelosi says Trump is used to Congress "rubber stamping" him, but that won't be the case anymore.

And she said, "Oversight of government by the Congress is our responsibility--That's the role we play."

Will she try to remove the president from office through impeachment? "Not yet," she says.

NBC, of course, was walking the halls of power with Nancy yesterday, with camera's rolling. Nancy told NBC's Savannah Guthrie, "A new day is dawning in America."

Indeed it is.

Some things that will be different at the dawning.

Impeachment

While Nancy has been a bit hesitant to fully endorse an all-out effort to impeach President Trump---"just yet"---there is a group in the Democratic Party who are pushing for impeachment immediately. There is also a group of far-Left Democrat citizens who have organized "Need to Impeach," which is headquartered in her home congressional district in California.

Among the power players in the group, billionaire Tom Steyer has gathered 6.5 million signatures in support of impeachment. Steyer says he expects Pelosi to "come around" on impeachment.

She also will give the chairmanship of the House Intelligence Committee to Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) who has been on a mission to "get Trump" from the get go. And Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) will be the chair of the House Judiciary Committee.

Both are trusted allies of Pelosi and are focused on removing Trump from office.

Climate Change

In a letter to her Democratic colleagues, Pelosi explained she will be creating a new congressional committee on the "climate crises."

"The purpose of the committee," she says, "will be to spearhead our effort to engage the American people on the urgency of the climate crises on public health"...and, "on national security to facing climate-driven conflict and instability, and our sacred moral responsibility to protect God's creation for our children."

I had to wonder if she has any political impulse to protect unborn children, who are also part of God's creation.

Abortion

I won't have to wonder long about the "different world" view regarding God's creation of unborn children.

House Democrats made the expansion of abortion one of their first orders of business in a bill that seeks to end partial government shutdown.

Pro-life Susan B. Anthony List tweeted Wednesday:
"Pro-abortion Democrats aren't wasting any time in trying to force taxpayers to fund abortion..." by trying to slip language that expands abortion into a bill to end the partial government shut down."

First order of business. A vote is scheduled.

The focus is on the "Mexico City Policy" which is known as the "Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance Policy" which was first issued by President Reagan in 1984. It has been rescinded by past Democratic presidents, but was re-instated by President Trump shortly after his Inauguration in January of 2017.

Abortion rights activists call it the "global gay rule."

Essentially, the Left is obsessed with expanding abortion to every tribe and nation on Earth. Hillary and other abortion champions have given their time, talent, and influence toward this end.

The pro-life Students for Life of America (SFLA) are calling on all lawmakers of both parties to reject any new funding for abortion in the budget "that would pay for abortions worldwide and to reject any new funding of abortion here in our country."

SFLA President Kristan Hawkins sats,
"News that abortion is the leading cause of death worldwide is a tragedy of international proportions, but asking US tax-payers to pay for it is an offensive misuse of funds."

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, notes that the Democrats are already "trying to foist a radical pro-abortion agenda on the nation."

Both Dannenfelser and Hawkins note that abortion under the Mexico City Policy becomes the "United States' number one export."

The Changing Face of Congress

The Washington Post has published an article, "House Democrats Bracing for a Robust Freshman Class" that has been re-published in newspapers across the country.

With joy they describe the new fresh faces of the Party that now controls the House. While they warn of possible "collisions" between these 63 newly minted Democrat elected officials----there are a total of about 100 freshman who took the oath of office yesterday---the newspaper is sure they will be able to deliver the necessary "policy shifts."

WAPO says, "This group has the chance to be a historic class based on its size and, more important, the unique background of many newcomers."

The 63 far Left representatives are, as the Post notes, "already a quarter of the way" to a majority that will push through the most far-Left progressive policies.

The story notes that "they are not asking permission to do things," they are going to "lean in," "take control" and "achieve success" in their mission.

WAPO also points out that "The House will welcome countless firsts:"

  • The first Muslim female members
  • The first Native American female members.
  • The first black woman elected from Connecticut and Massachusetts.
  • The first Latinas elected from Texas.
  • Five of the freshman are under 32 in age.
  • The youngest woman ever elected to Congress--29-year-old Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York.
  • Of the 33 women, 20 are of color
  • "Caucuses representing African American, Hispanic, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and LGBT lawmakers will see their numbers grow."
  • "Leaders of the identity-based caucuses are cheering their growing numbers."
  • In contrast, WAPO points out that the Republican Party will be about 90% white men with only one woman joining the House as a new member.

This change in face will alter the legislation that will come from the House of Representatives.

Progressives are defining this as an expansion of ideas and a new inclusion of diversity and experience.

Washington State Rep. Pramila Jayapal says the Party is creating a "scorecard" to help hold these freshmen "to their liberal ideals."

Abraham Lincoln said, " The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next."

The "next" has arrived in the House of Representatives.

I seriously doubt they will need to be "held" to the far Left secular progressive worldview. They have been indoctrinated from kindergarten through university. They are ready to change our world.

This is serious, but never hopeless.

Pray for our nation.

Pray for the president.

Act according to these words:

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Be Informed. Be Discerning. Be Vigilant. Be Faithful.
