Candidate Buttigieg Mocks Pence's Biblical Beliefs

Although I've mentioned homosexual South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg recently, his remarkable rise in the presidential polls and fundraising gives reason for people of biblical beliefs to be aware of what he's saying, and how the press is assisting him.

The press is mesmerized by him---evangelicals should be informed.

Sunday, he took on Mike Pence's biblical beliefs and the hypocrisy of evangelicals, saying if Pence has a problem with who I am he should blame God.

Be informed.

His message is straight to the point.

CNN is reporting that presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg said Sunday, while speaking at the LGBTQ Victory Fund National Champagne Brunch in Washington DC, that if Bible-believing Vice President Mike Pence has "a problem with who I am, your problem is not with me...your quarrel, sir, is with my creator."

He explained that he didn't want to be gay, but God made him that way---"If me being gay was a choice, it was a choice that was made far, far above my pay grade."

He said when he was growing up he wished he wasn't that way, but his "marriage to his husband has made him a better person and has brought him closer to God."

He said, "And that's the thing I wish the Mike Pences of the world would understand."

He continued,
"It's something that really frustrates me because of the hypocrisy is unbelievable. Here you have somebody who acts in a way that is not consistent with anything I hear in scripture in church."

Of course, he doesn't hear it at church because he and his "husband" attend a so-called "affirming" Episcopal church. A church that has tragically lost its way.

The press loves his message.

Sunday, Pete appeared on NBC's "Meet the Press with Chuck Todd."

He continued his bemoaning the "hypocrisy" of Trump, Pence, and all who voted for them.

It's expected in today's political environment that all candidates would be harsh in regard to their opponents, however, in this case, Buttigieg is attacking traditional biblical beliefs in a way that we have not seen. The media loves it, and can't get enough.

He says the hypocrisy on the right is "unbelievable"---noting that Trump could not be a Christian because he doesn't act in a way that is consistent with Scripture that "I hear in my church"---"where it's about lifting the least among us and taking care of strangers, which is another word for immigrants. And making sure that you're focusing your effort on the poor."

And he says (repeatedly),
"Not chest thumping look-at-me-ism, but humbling yourself before others. Foot washing is one of the central images in the New Testament. And we see the diametric opposite of that in this presidency."

He says he is "frustrated that evangelicals promote sexual ethics but still back Trump."

He says he sees himself as the opposite of Trump-- "a laid-back, intellectual, young gay mayor from the Midwest."

I think it's important to be aware of what he is saying. The amount of press coverage he's getting is not proportional to the weight of his candidacy--at least at this point. The press is trying to boost this candidacy. And they're having success.

This candidate is quoting the talking points of Jim Wallis and his religious Left, the laid back "who cares what you believe if you're likable" message for the Millennials, the "born that way so we deserve the same civil rights as blacks" message of the homosexual Human Rights Campaign, and the far Left political progressive message---all rolled up into one.

And he's a "Christian."

All this squares perfectly with HR 5, the "Equality Act" being pushed in the US House of Representatives as we speak.

The Equality Act, if passed, would be devastating for biblical Christians.

The Heritage Foundation has done a complete report on the effect of the bill.

This is a summary of the report:

SUMMARY: The proposed Equality Act (H.R. 5) turns sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) into protected classes under the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1968 Fair Housing Act. The bill creates obvious liberty, equality, privacy, and safety concerns. H.R. 5 would empower the federal government to impose civil and criminal punishments on citizens who dissent from SOGI ideology, including medical professionals, parents, women and girls, businesses, and charities. The bill would violate their rights to freedom of conscience, religion, and speech. The bill would also take away basic authorities of local communities to determine who is allowed in single-sex facilities and whether biological men and boys are allowed to join women’s and girls’ sports teams.

Key Takeaways.

HR 5 would empower the federal government to impose civil and criminal punishments on citizens who dissent from SOGI ideology.

  • Medicine will be politicized by forcing doctors nationwide to treat gender dysphoria according to recommendations by transgender activists.
  • Politicization of medicine will increase pressure on parents to permit hormone and surgery experiments on their children to address gender dysphoria.
  • It will turn individuals' beliefs about sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) into protected classes under the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1968 Fair Housing Act.
  • The bill creates obvious liberty, equality, privacy and safety concerns.

Please call or email your elected officials in both Congress and the Senate and ask them not to support the Equality Act.
