How the "Impeachment" Will End

Print Friendly Version of this pagePrint Get a PDF version of this webpagePDF

The effort to impeach President Trump, overturn the 2016 election and set up a political win in 2020 is going to end, "not with a bang, but with a whimper."

Hollow Men always end that way.

Be informed.

Late yesterday Sen Lindsey Graham gave a press conference. If you want to put this whole so-called "impeachment inquiry" in perspective please take 19 minutes and listen to Sen. Graham.

Hollow Men.

In 1925 poet T.S. Elliot published "Hollow Men."

The famous poem begins with,
"We are the hollow men, We are the stuffed men leaning together, Head piece filled with straw. Alas! Our dried voices, when We whisper together Are quiet and meaningless, As wind in dry grass, Or rats feet over broken glass, In our dry cellar."

Elliot continues,
"Shape without form, shade without colour, Paralysed force, gesture without motion."

His poem ends with these words:
"This is the way the world ends, Not with a bang but with a whimper.

Elliot's is a dark poem written in a culturally dark time. How appropriate to the politically motivated "impeachment" attempt of a sitting president of the United States.

More on Hollow Men in a moment.

Why the impeachment will end with a whimper, not a bang.

Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), told Fox News on Sunday that "The House is conducting an 'illegitimate' impeachment proceeding, and I think it's going to meet a quick end in the Senate."

In fact, Graham said it's possible they may not even call any witnesses, including the witnesses the Republicans want to call.

The reason, he says, "is to get this over as soon as possible."

As Chairman of the Judicial Committee he will have significant influence in the way the impeachment ends in the Senate. If the Senate does not vote for impeachment, the House cannot remove the President.

Graham said, "There are two ways this can go:"

In the trial, you can have the president present a defense to prove, in fact, that maybe the Ukraine was interfering in our election. The Russians stole the e-mails, not the Ukraine, but there's articles suggesting Ukrainian officials met with Democratic operatives in 2016.
I don't know if that's true. But here's what I'm going to do with the trial. I'm going to try to get this over as quickly as possible, listen to what the House case -- let them present their case. And if there's nothing new and dramatic, I would be ready to vote, and we can do all this other stuff through congressional oversight.

When asked again if he was going to have people come in and testify, Graham said: "I am saying that I'm going to end this as quickly as I can for the good of the country."

It's refreshing to hear a "public servant" think in terms of what is best for the country.

He said, "When 51 of us say we have had enough, the trial is going to end. The President is going to be acquitted. He may want to call Schiff. He may want to call Hunter Biden. He may want to call Joe Biden."

"But here's my advice to the president," Graham said, "If the Senate is ready to vote and ready to acquit you, you should celebrate that, and we can look at this other stuff outside of impeachment. Impeachment is tearing this country apart. I don't want to give it any more credibility than it deserves."

Graham said, "You can't even get a parking ticket based on an anonymous allegation."

He said,
"They had one hearing in the committee with four law professors, and Nancy Pelosi said we're going to move forward with the articles of impeachment. This is a joke process. It is dangerous to our country. It's the first impeachment scenario in the country started in-house, not with outside counsel."

The Senator and Committee Chairman said, "I think it's going to meet a quick end in the Senate."

Hollow men exist in a shadow. They want it to be real, but it isn't.

Elliot wrote:

"Between the idea and the reality, Between the motion And the act Falls the shadow."
"Between the conception And the creation, Between the emotion and the response Falls the shadow."
"Between the desire And the spasm, Between the potency And the existence, Between the essence And the descent, Falls the shadow."

The man who chairs the Senate Committee that will rule on the impeachment says, "I think it's going to meet a quick end in the Senate."

Elliot would have put it this way: "This is the way the world ends, This is the way the world ends, This is the way the world ends, Not with a bang, but with a whimper."

Secularism, relativism, atheism---all wrapped up in progressivism, is destroying our country. Anyone who attempts to invoke our founding principles is targeted by the radical far Left.

President James Garfield sounded a warning in 1877 that must be heard:
"Now more than ever the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption...If the next generation does not find us a great nation...it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces."

"We The People" are in charge and are ultimately responsible. I believe biblical Christians are responsible not only to our fellow citizens, but to God Himself. To whom much is given, much shall be required.

It is time for conservatives and biblical believers to stand up and "aid in controlling the political forces."
