PP Fires President--She's Not Aggressive Enough

Planned Parenthood fired their president, Dr. Leana Wen, Tuesday---after less than a year in office--- because, they say, she's not aggressive enough.

I believe that's only part of the reason.

But no question, Planned Parenthood is feeling the squeeze.

Be informed.

The New York Times reports that Planned Parenthood removed Dr. Leana Wen as president Tuesday citing the need for a "more aggressive political leader" as opposed to Wen---a medical doctor.

The Times says the board made the decision after "hours of negotiations and based on 'unrest within the organization' and a perceived need for a 'more aggressive political leader' to resist pro-life legislative efforts across the country."

The board was unanimous in firing Wen, but have not settled on a long term successor. In the interim, the board chose longtime member Alexis McGill Johnson to serve as acting president of both the organization's abortion business and its political arm, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

Wen seemed surprised by her firing. She says there had been conversations about her departure, but the vote on Tuesday took place during a "secret meeting."

Planned Parenthood has a lot of "secret meetings."

PP Under pressure.

Planned Parenthood takes in about $500 million from American taxpayers---creating a "best of"---"worst of" situation for the leader of the abortion industry.

A growing number of American taxpayers are fed up with funding a billion-dollar organization that kills 320,000 unwanted babies each year---and now the public has learned---sells their dismembered parts.

Only hardcore activists and misinformed citizens are comfortable with this. And the Democrat Party is filled with and preys on such.

This week CBS News reported,
"Effective immediately, family planning clinics that are funded by taxpayers must stop referring women for abortions, the Trump administration said Monday. The Health and Human Services (HHS) Department formally notified clinics that it will begin enforcing the ban on abortion referrals, along with a requirement that clinics maintain separate finances from facilities that provide abortions."

In addition to the rule on separate finances, another requirement that both kinds of facilities cannot be under the same roof will take effect next year.

Biblical Christians and pro-life conservatives are rejoicing. We've not had a stronger ally in the oval office.

Even CBS recognizes this is a blow to Planned Parenthood.

They report that "Religious conservatives see this as a means to end what they call indirect taxpayer subsidy to abortion providers."

We do, because it is. The New York Times and the other big leftist news organizations have been following "the squeeze" on Planned Parenthood, with great concern, since President Trump took office.

Earlier, The Times reported:
"Louisiana on Wednesday passed a bill to ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, making it the ninth this year to pass abortion restriction that could challenge the constitutional right established in Roe v Wade."

"The squeeze" that's being felt within the pro-abortion community is for now---Trump's executive order, and later---the potential of overturning Roe v Wade

Will firing Dr. Wen fix things for them?

What's wrong with Wen?

Last year Dr. Wen said, "People are not coming to Planned Parenthood to make a political statement. They're coming because they need their vaccinations. They need their well-woman exams. They're getting HIV tests."

She also said in her departure statement, "I believe the best way to protect abortion care is to be clear that it is not a political issue but a healthcare issue."

Planned Parenthood's board members, however, clearly see abortion as their mission and Wen is not sufficiently on message. To them, it is political.

They want a social warrior---not a medical doctor who has taken the Hippocratic Oath---in some form--- which says: "I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm." The phrase "first, do no harm" is a later development along the same lines. Abortion by definition "harms."

There's another problem with Dr. Wen and that has to do with her not submitting to the transgender movement's increasing power. It's said that she has refused to use "trans-inclusive" language and would not agree that men can have babies.

Our culture is literally in a fight for its life.
