Did White Evangelicals Hand Trump A Defeat?

While Joe Biden is pretending to be the next president of the United States, without vote certification from a single state, he is moving ahead as though it's a done deal.

It isn't, at least not yet.

But regardless of the eventual outcome of the 2020 election, I want to pause and take one last look at how we---the evangelical Christian community---affected this election.

We made a difference. But to what end?

Be informed, not misled.

Yes, there was an abundance of corruption and fraud in the election, regardless of how often the news media---national and local, tell you repeatedly there is "no evidence". There is evidence. How it will be handled by the courts remains to be seen.

In one Michigan county---one county---234 pages of sworn affidavits identifying irregularities have been presented to the court.

This is a sample:

  • EYEWITNESS saw a batch of ballots where 60% of them had the SAME signature
  • EYEWITNESS saw a batch of ballots scanned 5 times
  • EYEWITNESS saw 35 ballots counted that were NOT connected to a voter record
  • EYEWITNESS saw poll workers marking ballots with NO mark for candidates
  • VOTER said deceased son was recorded as voting TWICE
  • EYEWITNESS said provisional ballots were placed in the tabulation box
  • FAILED software that caused an error in Antrim County used in Wayne County
  • Republican challengers not readmitted but Democrats admitted
  • Republican challengers physically pushed from counting tables by officials
  • Democrats gave out packet: “Tactics to Distract Republican Challengers”
  • Republican challenges to suspect ballots ignored

The software that malfunctioned in favor of Joe Biden in this one county was used in 28 states---not counties---states.

Every American should want the system to work properly. But they don't. The integrity of our democratic way of holding elections rests solely on the integrity of the system, but progressives are more focused on getting rid of Trump, than on the consequences.

So were too many evangelicals.

Too many evangelicals "sat out" the election or joined the chorus of those voting "against" Trump.

Joel Rosenberg is the best selling author and founder of "All Israel News." A pro-Israel publication.

He has looked into the matter and has shared the results of exit polling conducted by McLaughlin & Associates and how it relates to what he has heard as he travels the nation.

Too many evangelicals "sat out" the election or joined the chorus of those voting "against" without regard to consequences.

Solid exit reports show that Trump received 79.4% of the white evangelical vote. That's a drop from 81% four years ago against Hillary Clinton.

These same reports show that Joe Biden received 18.6% support from white evangelicals, a 2.6% increase from 2016.

Rosenberg says:  "If Trump ends up losing this election bid---and that is far from clear, but certainly possible---his trouble with a small but important percentage of Evangelicals could prove decisive."

The Washington Post and several other mainstream media organizations claim that Trump only got 76%, while Biden got 23% of the evangelical vote. I think that's wishful thinking on the part of the far-left press.

Rosenberg says his organization conducted the survey with McLaughlin to help Israelis and others around the world to better understand the "social, religious. cultural and political dynamics at play inside the world's largest democracy and only superpower."

"After all," he said, "whoever does win the American presidency, and control of the House and Senate, will shape US policy toward Israel, the broader Middle East and North Africa in ways that will affect hundreds of millions of people for the next four years, and possibly beyond."

What the study revealed.

"No question," he says, "Trump won the white, born-again, Evangelical Christian vote decisively---more than any other Republican presidential candidate in the past 20 years---except Trump himself in 2016."
However.

In 2016, Trump won 81% of Evangelicals, according to data from Pew Research

This year, only 79.4% of evangelicals voted for Trump.

That 1.6% decline could end up costing him the election.

Biden, on the other hand, won 18.6% of the evangelical vote.

This is 2.6 points higher than Hillary, who won 16% of the evangelicals.

Rosenberg expanded on this, explaining to the Washington Examiner that there are 60 million evangelical Christians in the country and these numbers equate to about 72,000 votes. And 75% of the evangelicals are white --that's 45 million people.

A loss of 1% would be losing 450,000 votes.

He notes that Trump has stood solidly with the evangelicals---He chose a solid evangelical for vice president, Mike Pence, has placed other evangelicals in top government positions, set up an evangelical advisory committee that he meets with regularly regarding policy and prayer, has advanced policies at home and internationally that are favorable to evangelicals and has appointed pro-life Supreme Court justices and federal judges...and has been a consistent defender of Israel.

He has also brokered three historic Arab-Israeli peace treaties and vocally advanced religious freedom at home and abroad.

Why would evangelicals walk away from that, for a fake Catholic?

The surveys didn't look into why these evangelicals walked away from Trump. But Rosenberg did.

He told the Examiner this:

"Some evangelicals, not most, by any means, that I interviewed all across the US in recent months told me they simply could not look past what they regard as Trump's character problems. They criticized, in their words, Trump's mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic, his inflammatory tweets, his disastrous and distasteful first debate performance, his unkindness towards his political rivals and opponents, his perceived dishonesty on various topics, his chaotic and exhausting manner of governance, and his weird photo op in front of a church in Washington DC that had been burned by rioters, just to name a few of the complaints. Some told me they were inclined to sit out the election."

Should the votes or purposeful abstaining from voting of 500,000 to a million evangelicals for these reasons create any consequences?

If Biden should actually become the president, there will certainly be consequences for the lives of an expanded number of unborn children, as he and his cohorts rapidly expand abortion at home and abroad.

That will begin day one in office.

And if their conscience would not allow them to vote for a very flawed Donald Trump in the face of all he has done for evangelicals, will that same conscience remain silent when a Joe Biden whose own church in many, many cases declares him to be a hypocrite?

Will their biblical conscience be OK when it becomes apparent Kamala Harris---the most far-left senator in the US Senate-- is actually running the country? Along with Bernie Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez,  her posse, and other extreme socialists?

Does getting rid of Trump equate to this kind of compromise?

The enemy within.

Franklin Graham, in comments made this week while recognizing and expressing appreciation for all those who have served our country and defended freedom, noted that "It seems our country is under attack---from within, from socialists who want to bring anarchy to our streets."

He said, "The hard-won freedoms that we have enjoyed in America are very much at stake."

He encouraged everyone to pray for the President, as he leads the nation during these turbulent times, that God will give him wisdom, grace, and understanding for times such as these."

I'm going to take Franklin's appeal for prayer for the President and our nation to heart.

I hope you will too.

Be Informed. Be Discerning. Be Vigilant. Be Prayerful. Be at Peace....because God is in control.
