Pence Refuses to Reject---Washington DC Explodes

While President Trump was speaking at a rally in front of the White House yesterday, Vice President Pence told a Joint Session of Congress he was not going to take any action regarding the widespread fraud found during our presidential election.

He said he only had the constitutional authority to count and certify the electoral votes.

But 73% of Republican voters disagree and support the efforts of those senators and representatives who opposed the electoral votes on the basis of "widespread fraud."

As the process of certification began, tens of thousands of protesting people flooded the Capitol, entering the chamber itself, disrupting the Joint Session during the certification process, and damaging the building itself.

Lawmakers were evacuated.

What's happening to our country?

Be informed, not misled.

The Joint Session

As the Joint Session of Congress convened yesterday to certify the electoral votes of the presidential election making Joe Biden the next president of the United States, President Trump was speaking to thousands who had rallied outside the White House in support of Trump and honest and fair future elections.

In his speech, President Trump repeatedly urged Vice President Pence to take action and stop the certification of the electoral votes because of the widespread fraud.

Upon taking the Chair of the joint session, Vice President Pence told Congress he had sent them a formal letter advising them he would not try to decertify the electoral votes.

Pence explained both in his letter and personally,

"I do not believe that the Founders of our country intended to invest the Vice President with unilateral authority to decide which electoral votes should be counted during the Joint Session of Congress, and no Vice President in American history has ever asserted such an authority."

While Pence was declaring his refusal to reject any of the electoral votes, President Trump was telling the crowd gathered in front of the White House:

"Mike Pence I hope you're going to stand up for the good of our Constitution and the good of our country, and if you're not, I'm going to be very disappointed in you, I will tell you that right now, I'm not hearing good stories."

Pence said in his letter and his comments, "Some believe that as Vice President, I should be able to accept or reject electoral votes unilaterally," concluding that he disagrees.

He said, "It is my considered judgment that my oath to support and defend the Constitution constrains me from claiming unilateral authority to determine which electoral votes should be counted and which should not."

Before the Joint Session could get underway, tens of thousands of demonstrators flooded our Capitol building, actually entering the rotunda and even the chamber.

The world stopped to watch.

Within minutes everyone had an opinion as to what was happening and why.

Most opinions were that Trump had caused the chaos.

Biden's response.

As the TV networks rushed to put Joe Biden on the air, the chaos continued as Biden shared thoughts, calling for "just simple decency."

Let me be very clear. I do not agree with what happened in Washington DC yesterday. I condemn the desecration of our US Capitol building, the lawlessness, and the disruption of the Joint Session of Congress.

However, a closer look at what Joe Biden said is very revealing.

Biden said, "At this hour our democracy is under unprecedented assault unlike anything we've  seen in modern times--- an assault on the rule of law like few times we have ever seen."

Hypocrisy. Ordinary Americans have spent the past year watching some of the same people who were breaking windows yesterday in our Capitol, do so in our city streets night after night.

Their lawlessness has been not only applauded but celebrated from Seattle to Portland to Chicago to the east coast, by far-left elected Democrats who run these cities and states.

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan called the occupation of Capitol Hill in Seattle "a summer of love." After months of "love" and several people getting shot and businesses beginning to push back, she decided to "condemn" such actions. Kind of.

Portland's Mayor Ted Wheeler expressed much the same attitude as Portland was burned and looted for more than 100 consecutive nights. In fact, he joined the rioters on the street at one point trying to identify with them, only to have them call for his removal from office.

More hypocrisy. Joe Biden, in his call for "simple decency," also demanded President Trump go on television "right now" and "demand" his people to stop.

What was not reported was that President Trump had already put a video message on Twitter, condemning the actions, but the social media platform had blocked it. Many believe they did so to allow Biden to first demand he do so, then show Trump responding to Biden's demand at some later time.

Trump's Twitter account remained locked by Twitter into last night.

Joe Biden said, "The scenes of chaos at the Capitol do not reflect a true America, do not represent who we are."

The chaos included a woman being shot and killed in the Capitol.

No, it doesn't reflect who we are. But it reflects who we are becoming thanks to the secular progressive agenda that is strangling public education. The secular progressives have remade public education into government-run indoctrination stations.

Our history has been revised or "canceled" and our national character demeaned as systemically racist, while lawlessness has been celebrated and encouraged by the silence of the mayors and other far-left radical leaders.

The violence at the Capitol reflects the constant drumbeat by far-left to "remake America"---or more recently "re-imagine" America.

Joe Biden and the press is consistently referring to those who were violent and destructive as Trump supporters.

The same leaders of the left spent the last year ignoring and celebrating some of these same activists burning, looting, and destroying our cities---excusing the behavior as "a right of expression."

There are pictures on the internet of buses loaded with Antifa driving into Washington DC Wednesday morning.

America is deeply divided, and as Abraham Lincoln said of his times, a house divided will not stand.

Drawing from the words of Jesus, Lincoln said he expected America not to fall.

Pray for our country.
