54% Of Dems Don't Want Biden: A Country In Chaos

The headline reads: "Democrat party voters are unhappy President Joe Biden, 81, is the presumptive Democrat nominee to likely challenge former President Donald Trump after... polling revealed Sunday."

The poll highlights the disconnect and discord inflicting the Democrat party after Biden refused to step aside and allow a different Democrat to lead the party.

Who will lead America?

Be informed, not misled.

Political chaos.

In December, Biden told reporters he must run for reelection after prominent Democrats implored him to reconsider a second bid against Trump. “Would you be running if Trump wasn’t running?” a reporter asked Biden.

“I expect so,” Biden replied. “But he is running, and — I just — I have to run.”

Biden’s comment came on the same day he told donors he probably would not run if Trump was not running. “If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running,” Biden said, adding that Democrats “cannot let him [Trump] win.”

The survey showed:

  • 54 percent of Democrat primary voters prefer an alternative to Biden.
  • Just 43 percent of Democrat primary voters want to keep Biden.
The polling showed a slight uptick in negative sentiment against the president:
  • October: 53 percent prefer an alternative, while 45 want to keep Biden.
  • March: 52 percent prefer an alternative, while 44 want to keep Biden.
National and battleground state polling shows Biden losing to Trump:
  • Morning Consult: Trump leads Biden in six of seven crucial swing states.
  • NBC News: Trump leads Biden by two points.
  • Fox News: Trump trounces Biden by four points.

In reporting the poll results, Fox News says, "Former President Donald Trump keeps gaining ground in the Republican presidential nomination contest, as fewer than one-third of GOP primary voters now back all his rivals combined."

Trump's support stands at 69% in the primary race. That's up 7 points since November and 26 points since February.

Ron DeSantis receives 12% support (down 1 point since November), Nikki Haley gets 9% (-1), Vivek Ramaswamy 5% (-2), Chris Christie 2% (-1), and Asa Hutchinson 1% (steady).

When asked about their second choice, the top picks among Trump supporters are DeSantis at 50%, Ramaswamy at 20%, and Haley at 14%.

However, in hypothetical general election matchups against President Joe Biden, Haley is ahead by 6 points, while Trump is up by 4 (neither advantage is statistically significant). DeSantis and Biden tie. As recently as August, Biden was narrowly ahead of all three.

Fox says, "Haley appears to have the broadest support of any Republican candidate and may be in the best position to take on Biden," says Republican Daron Shaw, who partners with Democrat Chris Anderson on the Fox News Poll. "But the simple fact is most Republicans currently prefer Trump, so the stakes in the early contests are high. She needs to beat DeSantis in Iowa and finish a strong second in New Hampshire to shake up the race."

The far-Left Washington Post says this about Haley:

Fliers at Nikki Haley’s campaign events prominently advertise that she is “pro-life” — yet she draws plenty of voters who support abortion access and sometimes arrive under the mistaken impression the Republican presidential hopeful is “pro-choice.”

The former U.N. ambassador gets applause for calls to end transgender athletes’ participation in women’s sports, which she has called “the women’s issue of our time.” But she couches it in a softer appeal about the need to “grow strong girls” and spends more time on education issues that have more cross-party appeal, lamenting low proficiencies in reading and math to crowds overflowing into hallways and backup seating.

Although the Post says people believe Haley is trying to play both sides, it concludes with, if not an endorsement, at least a quote giving voters a "nudge" to vote for Haley rather than Trump.

CBS News tells their viewers:

"Donald Trump still leads in New Hampshire, but Nikki Haley has consolidated much of the non-Trump vote and has emerged as the top alternative to him there. Among the top candidates, Haley gets the best marks on being seen as "likable" and "reasonable," and she runs nearly even with Trump on being "prepared" — notable, considering he held the presidency. She has been running in part on electability and is now seen as the most electable of Trump's challengers.

Meanwhile, Trump has consolidated his already commanding lead in Iowa, where likely caucus-goers overwhelmingly see him as a "strong leader," where his backers say he "represents Iowa values," and where he is boosted by an electorate in which nearly half say they are part of the MAGA movement.

Chaos in the Christian community?

Newsweek said this earlier this year: "A petition opposing Donald Trump's 2024 presidential bid from a progressive Christian group, formed to oppose the "religious right," has received more than 20,000 signatures online."

"The petition," Newsweek said, "was created by Faithful America, a group founded in 2004 which claims to be the "largest online community of Christians putting faith into action for social justice."

The petition reads, "On November 15 at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump officially announced that he is running for president in 2024. In a speech laced with fearmongering and lies, Trump made it clear that he intends to double down on the fascist tactics that led to the deadly January 6 Christian-nationalist attack on our Capitol."

It continues, "We don't know much yet about how the 2024 election will play out, but one thing is certain: Another Trump presidency would be a disaster for our country."

The petition goes on to argue the pro-Trump Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement "clearly rejected" core Christian teachings in the Gospel.

It continued: "The insurrectionist ex-president—who infamously tear-gassed peaceful protesters to take a photo-op with a Bible outside an Episcopal church that didn't support him—repeatedly weaponized religion in his last two campaigns, and 2024 will be no different."

"The Gospel teaches love, equality, and dignity, all values that the MAGA movement clearly rejects. We can't let anyone believe that these Christian-nationalist politicians and far-right pastors speak for our faith—especially not when it comes to Donald Trump.

"At this pivotal moment, let's speak out as Christians and make it clear that Donald Trump does not share our values and will never have our votes." End of quote.

Takeaway

What then should Christian citizens do?

1. Make God’s Word your primary voting guide. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 110:105).

2. Pray before casting your vote.

3. Vote for a candidate who upholds Christian principles. Are his/her views on important social and moral issues biblical?

4. Vote for a candidate who is able to lead our country with justice. Remember that you are not voting for a pastor, but for a president. The candidate might not share all of your theological views, but if he/she is committed to a fair and righteous judicial system, then you might want to consider voting for this candidate.

5. Vote for a candidate who has already demonstrated his/her ability to lead well.

6. Cast your ballot in good conscience.

7. If the candidate who wins is immoral, remember that God is able to use even wicked leaders to accomplish his eternal plan (Rom. 13:1-7).

8. Finally, respect those who oppose your political position.
