"We The People" Dismissed By Another Activist Judge

The Reuters headline reads, "US judge permanently blocks Trump order requiring voters to prove citizenship."

Left-leaning Reuters says, "A federal judge on Friday permanently blocked part of an executive order from Republican U.S. President Donald Trump, ruling that the president cannot require voters to show passports or similar documents as proof of citizenship before voting."

Several lawsuits have challenged the president's March 25 executive order, a sweeping order aimed at overhauling federal elections, and courts have already temporarily blocked it from taking effect. U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly in Washington, D.C., was the first to reach a final ruling against the executive order.

The Left is dismissing "We The People" who are citizens of this country and trying to replace us with illegal aliens, which is stage two of the open borders agenda.

Be informed, not misled.

Kollar-Kotelly permanently blocked the part of the executive order that would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote. The judge had previously declined to block the part of the executive order that would bar states from counting mail-in ballots received after Election Day.

The ruling came in response to lawsuits by groups including the Democratic National Committee, the League of United Latin American Citizens, and the League of Women Voters Education Fund.

The American Civil Liberties Union, which represents the League of Women Voters in the case, said on Friday that Americans without up-to-date passports should not be required to purchase new documents in order to exercise their rights.

The ACLU knows that is not the intent of Trump's executive order. The president is trying to keep decision-making in our country in the hands and hearts of the people who are actually "Americans."

The Leftist movement in America knows they are in deep trouble with the general citizenship of our country and are hoping to replace the citizens who are sick and tired of their leftist policies, like open borders, with the millions of illegal aliens that have come from the four corners of the Earth to vote for more of the same Leftist policies.

California Governor Gavin Newsom is hoping for the same in California, and in his likely attempt for the White House.

"While we celebrate this victory, we remain vigilant and will keep fighting to ensure every eligible voter can make their voice heard without interference or intimidation," ACLU's Sophia Lin Lakin said. "No president can sidestep the Constitution to make it harder to vote."

The executive order called on a nonpartisan federal election body to modify a standardized national voter registration form to require a document, such as a passport, proving citizenship.

Kollar-Kotelly found that part of the order was illegal because the U.S. Constitution gives states, not the president, the power to oversee elections.

"Self-attestation for citizenship?”

"Under Trump’s executive order from March, the U.S. was criticized for failing 'to enforce basic and necessary election protections,' while countries such as India and Brazil have been tying voter identification to a biometric database.” In comparison, the U.S. was noted to still primarily rely “on 'self-attestation for citizenship'.”

“Despite pioneering self-government, the United States now fails to enforce basic and necessary election protections employed by modern, developed nations, as well as those still developing,” the executive order said. “India and Brazil, for example, are tying voter identification to a biometric database, while the United States largely relies on self-attestation for citizenship.”

Trump's Executive Order says this in part:

Free, fair, and honest elections unmarred by fraud, errors, or suspicion are fundamental to maintaining our constitutional Republic. The right of American citizens to have their votes properly counted and tabulated, without illegal dilution, is vital to determining the rightful winer of an election.

Under the Constitution, State governments must safeguard American elections in compliance with Federal laws that protect Americans’ voting rights and guard against dilution by illegal voting, discrimination, fraud, and other forms of malfeasance and error. Yet the United States has not adequately enforced Federal election requirements that, for example, prohibit States from counting ballots received after Election Day or prohibit non-citizens from registering to vote.

The order continues to note that “within 30 days of the date” of the executive order, the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) “shall take appropriate action to require, in its national mail voter registration form issued under 52 U.S.C. 20508” proof of U.S. Citizenship.

Kollar-Kotelly’s decision comes after she “agreed to partially grant a preliminary injunction sought by three different groups of plaintiffs” in April, according to CBS News.

In her block in April, Kollar-Kotelly prevented the Trump administration from moving forward with enacting “two provisions of the executive order,” according to the outlet.

CBS News says, "The Justice Department will likely appeal the decision."

As to the proof-of-citizenship requirement, Kollar-Kotelly wrote neither the Constitution nor federal voter registration law gives the president the authority to direct the Election Assistance Commission to change what is on the federal registration form.

"The president is free to state his views about what policies he believes that Congress, the EAC, or other federal agencies should consider or adopt. But in this case, the president has done much more than state his views: He has issued an 'order' directing that an independent commission 'shall' act to 'require' changes to an important document, the contents of which Congress has tightly regulated," the judge wrote. "That command exceeds the president's authority."

Takeaway

In March of this year, Liberal judges on New York’s highest court sided with conservatives to reject a law that would have given noncitizens the right to vote.

The law, passed by the New York City Council in December 2021, would have enabled nearly 800,000 “lawful permanent residents” to vote in local elections. The New York Court of Appeals ruled 6-1 to strike it down.

The state constitution stipulates in Article II that “every citizen shall be entitled to vote at every election for all officers elected by the people.” Supporters of the law argued that this does not necessarily prohibit noncitizens from voting.

Of course it does. It was never the original intent of our Founding Fathers to throw open our borders and invite illegal aliens to saturate the country, then elect the country's leadership---the Leftists,  to whom they feel obligated.

I believe, and Scripture supports, that God instituted borders and national sovereignty.

The Old Testament clearly endorses it.

The New Testament also endorses national sovereignty in Acts 17:26: "And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation."

"Bounds of their habitation" means "borders." Protected borders.
