Why Joe Kent Quit Trump Yesterday

Yesterday morning, as we went live on the air at 9 AM, I told our radio listeners that Joe Kent had just resigned from the Trump Administration, effective today (yesterday).

We said that it would be a big story for the leftist press, because Kent was, as the New York Times has now told their world, "Mr. Kent is the highest-ranking Trump administration official to quit in opposition to the conflict [in Iran]. He said, 'pressure from Israel had pushed the president into war against Iran.'"

I seriously doubt that "pressure" pushes Trump into anything he doesn't want to do. Or doesn't feel it is in the "best interest" of our country.

We wondered out loud yesterday, on the air, if Joe Kent had "been spending too much time with the antisemites." Those who hate Israel.

Well, now we know.

Be informed, not misled.

The New York Times began its featured, front-page article with this:

"Mr. Kent is the highest-ranking Trump administration official to quit in opposition to the conflict. He said pressure from Israel had pushed the president into war against Iran."

And he says in his letter to President Trump that his resignation was effective that same day. Yesterday.

The Times said:

Joe Kent, one of the United States’ top counterterrorism officials, announced his resignation on Tuesday, citing his opposition to the Iran war and what he said was Israel’s influence over the Trump administration’s policies.

“I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran,” Mr. Kent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, wrote in a social media post. “Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.”

Mr. Kent is the highest-ranking Trump administration official to quit over the Iran war. His resignation bluntly exposes how the Iran war is expanding fissures in President Trump’s coalition. Mr. Kent is a close friend of Tucker Carlson, the Trump ally who has emerged as the sharpest critic of the war.

I don't know how Kent can come to the conclusion that Iran posed no "imminent" threat to the US when they have been shouting across America and Israel from campuses to street corners, "Death To America", "Death to Israel" while working tirelessly to create a bomb capable of visiting death to both our country and Israel.

I seriously doubt that Tucker would be considered a "close ally" to President Trump, given his preoccupation with hating Israel.

The NYT says, "In a brief interview, Mr. Carlson praised Mr. Kent’s resignation."

“Joe is the bravest man I know, and he can’t be dismissed as a nut,” Mr. Carlson said. “He’s leaving a job that gave him access to the highest-level relevant intelligence. The neocons will now try to destroy him for that. He understands that and did it anyway.”

Tucker Carlson is trying to make Joe Kent into a martyr.

Tucker's "neo-cons" are not trying to destroy him, but the Left is showing up to get their two cents into the narrative.

The Times says, "In the letter, Mr. Kent wrote about what he saw as a 'misinformation campaign' by high-ranking Israeli officials and the news media, which he said had undermined Mr. Trump’s 'America First platform and sowed pro-war sentiments to encourage a war with Iran.”

A veteran of the Iraq war, Mr. Kent said that the arguments in support of attacking Iran and promises of a swift victory echoed the debate over going to war against Iraq in 2003.

Mr. Kent also referred to his late wife Shannon, a military cryptologist killed in Syria.

“As a veteran who deployed to combat 11 times and as a Gold Star husband who lost my beloved wife Shannon in a war manufactured by Israel, I cannot support sending the next generation off to fight and die in a war that serves no benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives,” he wrote.

Senator Mark Warner of Virginia, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, has long criticized Mr. Kent, accusing him of politicizing intelligence. In a statement on Tuesday, he said Mr. Kent’s record was troubling and that he should never have been confirmed. But Mr. Warner added that he agreed with him, at least in part, on the Iran war.

“On this point, he is right: there was no credible evidence of an imminent threat from Iran that would justify rushing the United States into another war of choice in the Middle East,” Mr. Warner said.

As the varying responses to Mr. Kent’s resignation inside Republican circles showed, Mr. Kent has raised questions about how deep the war on Iran will crack the president’s Make America Great Again coalition, which has been positioned against wars of choice.

The NYT notes that Kent is a twice-failed Congressional candidate in Washington State. He is from the Vancouver area in Southwest Washington.

Then the Left went after Vice President JD Vance.

The Times said, "Vice President JD Vance, who has long criticized American interventions, has expressed some skepticism about the war, and Mr. Trump has said Mr. Vance was 'less enthusiastic' about the mission than others in the administration."

Questioned in the Oval Office about his views on the war, Mr. Vance said Monday he would not allow the media to drive a “wedge” between him and the president.

VP Vance, I presume, is planning to run for the presidency in 2028.

Trump's response to all this.

As for his Republican critics, Mr. Trump declared that they are no longer part of the MAGA movement.

“THEY ARE NOT MAGA, I AM, and MAGA includes not allowing Iran, a Sick, Demented, and Violent Terrorist Regime, to have a Nuclear Weapon to blow up the United States of America, the Middle East, and, ultimately, the rest of the World,” he wrote on Truth Social. “MAGA is about stopping them cold, and that is exactly what we are doing.”

What does God say about this?

Blessing Israel is a biblical imperative grounded in Genesis 12:3. It promises that individuals and nations that support Israel will receive God’s blessings, while those who oppose Israel face divine judgment.

  • The Covenant Promise: We must emphasize  God's covenant with Israel. "I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee" (Genesis 12:3) remains active today.
  • Support for Israel is Mandatory: Christians are called to show "unconditional love" and support for the State of Israel and the Jewish people.
  • Blessings for Followers: Supporting Israel brings God's "supernatural riches" and blessings to one's life, family, and business.
  • A "Bible Issue," Not Just Political: Support for Israel is a spiritual obligation. History shows that nations that mistreat Israel face decline.
  • Practical Application: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and opposing antisemitism, to trigger these blessings.

Takeaway

Reports indicate that over 90% of American Jews see antisemitism as a problem, with over 50% changing their behavior—such as avoiding public displays of Jewish identity—due to fear.

This is not pleasing to God.

Numbers 6:23-27 says, "Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them."

How we feel about and act toward Israel is primarily a spiritual matter, not a political one.
