Yesterday in this Faith and Freedom Daily column, I mentioned that last night's debate may well be between Trump and Chris Wallace, the Fox News anchor who moderated last night's debate.
I don't think the debate changed many, if any minds about who they will vote for, but clearly Wallace was in over his head.
And Biden made a couple declarations that may not be well received by his comrades on the Left.
Be informed, not misled.
Minutes into the debate, moderator Wallace picked up the torch for Joe Biden, affirming Biden's claim that Trump was trying to get rid of Obamacare, but did not have a plan to replace it.
Trump looked at Wallace and said, "Well, first of all, I guess I'm debating you, not him. But's that's OK. I'm not surprised."
Neither am I.
Overall I did not personally feel the debate was of much benefit to the public, but then by most all polls, the public has already made up their minds who they are voting for. There are only about 3% who remain undecided.
Several things Joe Biden said surprised me.
- Biden denied the existence of organized Antifa groups. He said Trump's FBI director has said that Antifa is an idea, not an organization.
- However, FBI Director Wray has said his agency is, in fact, investigating those who identify as Antifa while committing serious crimes.
- Biden said he does not support the Green New Deal. That may also surprise Bernie Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez, Elizabeth Warren, and Washington State's own Gov. Jay Inslee, but it won't change their votes.
- Chris Wallace falsely claimed that Trump is ending "Racial sensitivity training." He's not. He's ending "Critical Race Theory," which is the idea that all major institutions in the US are tainted by slavery and racism because they were founded when slavery was still legal in parts of the country.
- He claimed his son, Hunter, did nothing wrong while taking millions from Ukraine, China, and Moscow (Russia) mayor's wife.
I'll be talking more about these and other issues on our live radio program today.
