2024--A Year Of Promises

The president and first lady, Jill Biden, vacationing in St Croix in the US Virgin Islands, offered a New Year’s message touting US job gains and the performance of the US economy during his administration in an interview with New Year's Eve TV host Ryan Seacrest.

However, according to all polls, it's a message that most voters have refused to accept.

The president of Harvard University resigned yesterday, turning the light on the decay and disgust of so-called "public education." Dr. Gay, a person Barack Obama helped get the job in the first place, has left her position in academic and social disgrace.

Our borders are almost nonexistent, we're drowning in debt, nobody wants to serve in our military anymore, and the rest of the world looks on--- planning how to best exploit our visible weakness.

2024 will be a year of promises---kept and broken.

Whom will you believe?

What should we do?

Is there hope?

Be informed, not misled.

In a New Year's Eve interview with host Ryan Seacrest about his hopes for 2024, Biden said “The American people understand that we’re in a better position than any country in the world to lead the world.”

“We’re coming back, and it’s about time,” Biden said.

All legitimate polls dispute that. We are not coming back. In fact, Trump predicted over the weekend that America is facing a financial collapse not unlike the Great Depression unless major changes take place.

Asked about his memories of the previous year, Biden – whom some in Congress have called “Beachfront Biden” – said, “People are in a position to be able to make a living now, and they’ve created a lot of jobs for over 14 million.”

Biden always measures his "success" by the lowest point in the COVID pandemic era, not the peak of the Trump era preceding the pandemic era.

In comments to reporters, Biden said his New Year’s resolution was “to come back next year,” noting that is his biggest resolution---or promise.

Biden's words were not lost on Donald Trump, the likely nominee for the 2024 Republican presidential candidate, nor were they lost on most American voters who believe we are on the "wrong track."

He posted on his "Truth Social" platform, "Happy New Year. It will be a historic one. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

A day earlier, Trump issued a more direct message, predicting Biden would not “make it to the gate” in November.

At a party hosted by Trump and his wife, he said, “As the New Year fast approaches, I would like to wish an early New Year’s salutation to crooked Joe Biden and his group of radical left misfits and thugs on their never-ending attempt to destroy our nation through lawfare, invasion and rigging elections.”

“They are now scrambling to sign up as many of those millions of people they are illegally allowing into our country, in order that they will be ready to vote in the presidential election of 2024."

I believe this is the essence of what we will hear over the coming 11 months---the promises--- even though our nation will continue to decay.

This is confirmed by all polls.

Polling averages compiled by FiveThirtyEight show that 39% of Americans approve of Biden’s performance, with 55% disapproving – a gap that has doubled in 12 months.

The State of the Union from a different perspective.

Education:

Harvard President Claudine Gay resigned on Tuesday following antisemitism scandals at the Ivy League university, a disastrous congressional testimony, and scores of plagiarism allegations being unearthed in recent months. Her six-month tenure marks the shortest tenure in Harvard’s history.

This is not an isolated case. It mirrors a great deal of the state of so-called "public education."

The popularity and success of faith-based higher education is cited as the reason the Biden administration – or some of its departments, at the very least – seems to be laser-focused on punishing those institutions.

The Biden administration, which has already shown its penchant for using government resources to attack opposing viewpoints, has now set its sights on Christian higher education, the president of Grand Canyon University says.

Phoenix-based GCU, which has the largest enrollment of U.S. Christian universities, was the subject of a lawsuit filed by the Federal Trade Commission on Wednesday, two days after Christmas. The FTC alleges that Grand Canyon has engaged in deceptive advertising and illegal telemarketing.

It's the second federal action against GCU in a month and a half. In mid-November, the school was fined a record $37.7 million over allegations that it has misled students about the cost of its programs.

Officials at Liberty University, founded by Jerry Falwell in Lynchburg, Virginia, have said the school has been threatened with a fine of $37.5 million for alleged violations of the Clery Act, 1990 federal legislation that requires colleges and universities to maintain and disclose certain crime statistics and campus security information. The school told Fox News that a preliminary DOE report that included the allegations was leaked to media in an attempt to "poison the well" as the school continues talks with the DOE.

Mueller suspects the "tremendous amount of success" both GCU and Liberty are experiencing might be sticking in the craw of the education establishment.

"What we offer is in huge demand in this country. Things have never been better for us. There's never been greater interest in what we do than right now. Kids are coming from all over the country wanting to attend Grand Canyon University," said Mueller. "We can't build fast enough for all the kids who come here, and so there is something ideological that's going on here to create all these investigations and this minutia."

Gitnux, a goods and services data website for consumers, found that faith remains significant in the lives of most college students at both Christian and secular schools. Their 2023 report shows:

  • 57% of college students say religious beliefs provide them with strength and guidance.
  • 71% identify with a religious affiliation.
  • 40% attend services at least once a month.
  • 38% report that they pray daily.
  • 59% say their religiosity has increased during their college years.

The developing war on Christianity in America.

American atheists are urging their fellow non-believers to vote against Christians, insisting it is a matter of “survival.”

The New Year’s message from the "Atheist Revolution" declares that atheists and other non-Christians should have “the highest voter turnout of all” because they have the most to lose “when Christian extremists gain power.”

“We should vote like our lives depend on it because they do,” states the text, which warns that Christians are trying to exterminate them.

Atheists need to get out and vote because “you don’t like what the Christian extremists have in store for us” and because “you don’t want to live in their world,” the atheists warn.

“This isn’t about upholding abstract principles or doing the right thing. It is about our survival,” the text declares. “If we want to have a future, we need to expand our efforts to oppose Christian extremism.”

I will be talking more about how biblical Christians should respond to the dark cultural clouds of 2024 on our daily radio program today.
