Davos: "Religion Threatened by Advanced Growth in AI"

A lot is going on in Davos this year as world leaders meet to discuss something other than "globalism"  because, for the moment, "globalism" is dead.

The headlines have focused on President Trump's agenda: Greenland, NATO, Finland, etc.

However, a new subject is on the minds of many: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not far from the top of mind for nearly all the world leaders gathered in the Swiss Alps.

And it has taken on a spiritual tone.

Be informed, not misled.

RE: AI

Yuval Noah Harari is a distinguished research fellow at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for the Study of Existential Risk and has also lectured at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s history department. At the WEF, he spoke at a breakout session and informed the audience that AI already handles words better than most humans. Therefore, anything made of words will be taken over by AI.

He said, "If laws are made of words, then AI will take over the legal system. If religion is built from words, then AI will take over religion.”

Need to study a text? Harari says that AI can do it better than a pastor.

“What happens to a religion of the book when the greatest expert on the holy book is an AI?” asks Harari.

He points out that all the Abrahamic religions -- Judaism, Christianity, and Islam -- claim to be religions of the book. However, AI will not just stop there.

“Suppose some AI persons create a new religion that gains the faith of millions of people. That should not sound too far-fetched because, after all, almost all previous religions in history have claimed that they were created by a non-human intelligence,” states Harari.

Seminary professors say that AI will never replace the inspiration Christians get through the Holy Spirit when studying the Word of God. But Harari means to warn humanity of what is coming.

“Ten years from now, it will be too late for you to decide whether AI should function as persons in the financial markets, in the courts, in the churches. Somebody else will already have decided it for you,” says Harari.

Yuval Noah Harari says, "AI is not a tool — it’s an agent that can rule humans."

Can you imagine how the Davos group could use this "agent" to propagate globalism?

So, what can I do about it?

First and foremost, be informed, lest we be destroyed by lack of knowledge.

Dr. David Jeremiah, in his book "The Book of Signs," explains that the progress that has been made in moving our society from writing checks and paying in cash to using digital means to pay our bills has dramatically changed everything.

He writes, "The use of this technology is a source of controversy. Many are worried about their privacy and information security for obvious reasons. But it has even more sinister potential: it is a perfect weapon in the arsenal of a tyrant bent on world domination. As we know from the Bible, a despotic ruler will govern the entire world during the last half of the Tribulation period, and he will likely use technology to accomplish his purposes (Revelation 13:16–17)."

According to a WORLD magazine article titled "The Tower of Google," the internet is "society's brain, continually patrolled by cyber bots that make connections." The omnipresent search engine—whether Google, Bing, or some other—extends its reach through "search engine optimization." With this enhancement in the past ten years, Google can target marketing specifically to our interests by following us around the internet noting where we stop, shop, and search.

Not only can they figure out what we like and want; they create those very needs and wants for us! Sergey Brin, cofounder of Google, has expressed a somewhat frightening desire to see "the development of a wireless chip to be implanted directly into the human brain." That is the kind of control the Antichrist is all about.

DR. Jeremiah concludes that part of his book with this:

"The purpose of this elaborate technology summary is to restate one reality: technological advances are paving the way for fulfillment of end–time prophecy. These innovations are creating the environment that the Antichrist and False Prophet will need to wire this world together for their evil purposes. Even now it is well within the range of possibility for a centralized power to gain worldwide control of all banking and purchasing. With Tribulation–era prophecy beginning to take shape all around us, we can anticipate the Lord's return is not far off."

Keep in mind his book was published about 7 years ago.

Today, we are talking about not only how the Anti-Christ could create full control over all banking and purchasing, but also how he could change the minds of uninformed people.

Takeaway

The Anti-Christ will also introduce a one-world religion.

The one-world religion described in Revelation 17:1–18 as “the great harlot” will be part of the end-times scenario. The term harlot is used throughout the Old Testament as a metaphor for those who follow false religion. The actual identity and makeup of the religion have been debated for centuries, leading to a range of views among Bible commentators and theologians.

Revelation 17:1–18 gives us several characteristics of the one-world religion. The false religion will dominate all the “peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues” of the earth (Revelation 17:15), meaning that it will have universal authority, no doubt given by the Antichrist, who rules the world at that time. Verses 2–3 describe the harlot as committing adultery with the “kings of the earth,” referring to the false religion’s influence among the world’s rulers and influential people. The reference to being drunk with the wine of her adulteries may refer to those who are drunk with the power they receive from worshiping the false god of the false religion. Satan frequently ensnares those whose lust for power drives them away from the worship of the true and living God.

Eventually, the harlot will lose favor with the Antichrist, who will want to receive the world’s worship for himself. He will not share the adoration of the world with the prophets and priests of the false religion, no matter how obsequious or fawning they may be. Once the Antichrist gains the world’s amazed attention by his miraculous return from the dead (Revelation 13:3, 12, 14), he will turn on the false religious system and destroy it, establishing himself as God. The deception, Jesus tells us, will be so great that, if it were possible, even the elect would fall for it (Matthew 24:24).

  • 1 John 4:3 says: "Every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."
  • 1 John 2:18 also mentions "many antichrists have come."
  • Romans 8:31 says, "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can stand  against us?"
