Homosexuals Mentoring Boys: BSA Makes it Official

In 2013, former WA State Attorney General Rob McKenna led the Washington State delegation to vote in favor of the Boy Scouts of America abolishing their 101 year old policy on allowing gays in the Scouts.

At the time, McKenna told Seattle media, "You know its the right thing to do..." He told the press he also supported dropping the ban on leadership as well.

"You know," he said, "we'll step back and absorb this change and all the good things that will come out of it and then figure out the timing on the next step."

They have figured it out. The timing was this past Monday.

The executive committee announced this week that they have voted unanimously to approve a resolution that would end the BSA's policy prohibiting homosexual leadership in the BSA.

Linda Harvey, president of Mission America, says now that the policy has been changed, "These people will be drawn like flies...to this opportunity."

Over reaction?

Even the Los Angles Times says there's already a long running internal problem with sexual abuse within the Boy Scouts of America. Now this?

Linda Harvey told One News Now, "I hate to say it that way---but that's what's going to happen to this opportunity."

Rob McKenna said, "Good things can come out of this."

"There are going to be a few who are unhappy, some people who hold deeply held convictions, and they may pull their kids out," McKenna said---"If they do, that's a real shame."

He was right. But it's more than a "few" who were unhappy.

In fact a new nationally based Christian alternative to Boy Scouts was formed out of those "deeply held convictions" that parents did not want their little boys sleeping in pup tents with openly homosexual kids, and now leaders.

Trail Life USA was born out of BSA's moral failure. It is growing exponentially.

I strongly encourage you pull your sons out of BSA, if you have not already done so, and put them in Trail Life USA.

This is an overview of the organization and what it stands for:

Trail Life USA is a Christian adventure, character, and leadership program for young men. The K-12 program centers on outdoor experiences that build a young man’s skills and allow him to grow on a personal level and as a role model and leader for his peers. Living the Trail Life is a journey established on timeless values derived from the Bible.
VISION
Our vision is to be the premier national character development organization for young men which produces Godly and responsible husbands, fathers, and citizens.

OATH

  • To serve God and my country;
  • To respect authority;
  • To be a good steward of creation;
  • And to treat others as I want to be treated.

The Los Angles Times has run a series of in depth articles about the history of sexual abuse and its cover up in the BSA. It is both revealing and saddening.

Does McKenna and others who have led in this departure from policies based on biblical morality really believe the new policies will make things better?

This is a link to a series of sad stories and the aggressive BSA cover up published by the Los Angeles Times.

Consider this: "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward" (Ps. 127:3).

Let's take care of them.

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Pro-Active. Be Prayerful. Be Blessed.
