When the U S supreme court rules to reject DOMA and make marriage between two people of the same sex the law of the land, nationally, we will then be as Sodom and Gomorrah-will we THEN get the same judgement? Olympia
ReplyDeleteNo, because the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was NOT homosexuality, but of inhospitality, of being rude to incoming travelers or those hoping to settle, or those who can't support themselves, regardless of reason. Carving their names on gold that they "give" so that other beggars can't trade it for a crust of bread.

Amen to the 2/22/2013 post. If folks would work more on taking the splinter out of their own eye. I fail to understand how gay marriage degrades or impacts hetero marriage at all. BTW - I'm Christian, straight and happily married to my wife of 25+ years. What any other couple does, straight or gay, has nothing to do with the relationship between my wife and I. Also, a sin is a sin. Why is the Christian right so focused on this issue but says nothing about (for example) adultery or any of the other real evils in the world.
ReplyDeleteYou people are too much and talk out of both sides of your mouths religion is about love thy neighbor regardless that they are gay, black, yellow, brown you interpret the bible according to your prejudices I say look into your own house and clean it before you clean anyone else's. I do not believe anything "man" says because you finger pointers are sinners as well just like the rest of us I go to the source (GOD) and if these be sins GOD and GOD alone will judge me as well as you for sitting in judgement of others. I voted for Obama I want gays to get married adopt children do you know they adopt the "throwaway" children that you wonderful religious people reject because you want to force woman to have children they are not ready to have this is as a result of not having access to abortion or birth control. SHAME ON YOU ALL!!!! AND OBAMA CARE IS HERE TO STAY TO STEP OFF!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI recieved a call this evening urging me to call the Governor and tell him that WA should not participate in Obama Care. The information contained in the message was wildly specuative, unsubstantiated, and/or patently false. Nowhere within the recording was there any mention of how those without healh care - mostly poor and working class - would benefit from Obama Care. Instead the intent was to protect the wealthy from paying a fair share of taxes. Perhaps we should consider taxing religious organizations who take advantage of their tax-free status to lobby against the needy. Yakima
ReplyDeleteI also just received a call and I agree with you completely. I am currently paying $1000 per month for COBRA COVERAGE for myself and daughter. Before my husband passed away, we were paying $1500 each month. It is easy to complain about others when you have never been in there shoes. The recording that I received thanked me for my support. I am disgusted. My husband was unemployed for two years before he died. These people make me sick. They are part of the "I got mine" mentality. We used to have ours too because my husband worked hard. Southern Maryland.
