  1. When the U S supreme court rules to reject DOMA and make marriage between two people of the same sex the law of the land, nationally, we will then be as Sodom and Gomorrah-will we THEN get the same judgement? Olympia

    1. No, because the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was NOT homosexuality, but of inhospitality, of being rude to incoming travelers or those hoping to settle, or those who can't support themselves, regardless of reason. Carving their names on gold that they "give" so that other beggars can't trade it for a crust of bread.

To deny a specific group the same rights and privileges that everyone else already possess is probably a closer definition of "sodomy" than homosexuality. -Seattle

  2. Amen to the 2/22/2013 post. If folks would work more on taking the splinter out of their own eye. I fail to understand how gay marriage degrades or impacts hetero marriage at all. BTW - I'm Christian, straight and happily married to my wife of 25+ years. What any other couple does, straight or gay, has nothing to do with the relationship between my wife and I. Also, a sin is a sin. Why is the Christian right so focused on this issue but says nothing about (for example) adultery or any of the other real evils in the world.

    1. Mind you adultery is a choice, the is no law that says you cannot do so but if you really love the person your with then don't commit adlutery. If you're talking about those evils taking place in the media such christian movies etc, then please know that you don't have to watch it there are infact christian broadcasting networks, christian movies etc. I do believe I make my point when I say don't abuse the label christian then go out galavanting and making a utter joke of the holy bible itself by accecpting homosexuality and stuff.

  3. You people are too much and talk out of both sides of your mouths religion is about love thy neighbor regardless that they are gay, black, yellow, brown you interpret the bible according to your prejudices I say look into your own house and clean it before you clean anyone else's. I do not believe anything "man" says because you finger pointers are sinners as well just like the rest of us I go to the source (GOD) and if these be sins GOD and GOD alone will judge me as well as you for sitting in judgement of others. I voted for Obama I want gays to get married adopt children do you know they adopt the "throwaway" children that you wonderful religious people reject because you want to force woman to have children they are not ready to have this is as a result of not having access to abortion or birth control. SHAME ON YOU ALL!!!! AND OBAMA CARE IS HERE TO STAY TO STEP OFF!!!!!

  4. I recieved a call this evening urging me to call the Governor and tell him that WA should not participate in Obama Care. The information contained in the message was wildly specuative, unsubstantiated, and/or patently false. Nowhere within the recording was there any mention of how those without healh care - mostly poor and working class - would benefit from Obama Care. Instead the intent was to protect the wealthy from paying a fair share of taxes. Perhaps we should consider taxing religious organizations who take advantage of their tax-free status to lobby against the needy. Yakima

    1. I also just received a call and I agree with you completely. I am currently paying $1000 per month for COBRA COVERAGE for myself and daughter. Before my husband passed away, we were paying $1500 each month. It is easy to complain about others when you have never been in there shoes. The recording that I received thanked me for my support. I am disgusted. My husband was unemployed for two years before he died. These people make me sick. They are part of the "I got mine" mentality. We used to have ours too because my husband worked hard. Southern Maryland.

    2. These people as sick and they are not being truthful about anything, including the.impact od the Court ruling. On top of that, they are law breakers since I am on the Do Not Call list and never.did and.never.will give them permission to spew.their hatred and lies into my ear.

I have cancer at 18 and was on the insurance.company blacklist. Now, thanks to The Affordable Care Act, I can no longer be denied insurance.

  5. The notion of the United States was founded, in part, by people who fled Europe due to religious intolerance and corrupt power systems suppressing original thought and innovation. Now, the United States is in the hands of the intolerant and the power hungry. Human rights violations are legislated, and truly useful, and perhaps life saving, innovation is limited to those who have the money - also legislated. Spiritual and personal beliefs are being suppressed by those who believe we should all be Christian or at least tow the Christian line - or else - (Gosh, that sounds familiar...Sharia law... - you folks seem awful worried about that too, and here you are, pretty comfortable pushing your own version.) I know you Faith and Freedom folks are scared, but your fears are misplaced and ultimately harmful, even to yourselves in the long run.

  6. I read Gary's article today about Overlake Church and the subject of homosexuality with great interest. As a Christian Mother of a Gay son I had ran across the "Because you Breath" article and it gave me a lot of insight on loving my son unconditionally without compromising my Biblical beliefs....however, I did some follow up reading of the author's communication with Christian people expanding her ideas further and was disturbed when I realized that she has instilling her own doctrine into the Word of God.....false teaching. If you are a true believer in Jesus Christ and follow His Word the Holy Spirit will instruct you about what is Truth and what is false teaching. Gary is absolutely correct in his teachings here. It lines up with God's Word. People are being "dumbed down" and accepting this deception as normal. My husband and I love our son and always will and we accept his partner as part of his life and care about him but the lifestyle will never be something we will embrace and our son knows that but also knows that we love him and always will. We have come to grips with something we never thought we would encounter. We have grown through this and will continue to call upon God's grace to always do the right thing According to His Word. I am a Mother, I am a Christian Mother of a wonder, caring son who happens to be Gay. I am learning every day to be the best I can be but I will never compromise God's Word...or change the content or skip over the "uncomfortable parts" . I am also a nurse who has taken care of many serious cases of AIDS victims. I have always felt a great deal of compassion for them as I would for any suffering person and have frequently been impressed how they often care for each other. I would like to see more believers grow in compassion for the lost Gay or not.

    1. You sound like a very loving mother. I agree with you that the Christian church is being "dumbed down". As an intellectual and even an atheist, I find this neutralizing process extremely sad and troubling. It's taken me a long time to realize the gospel of Jesus Christ is about as true as true could be, it guides me to this day.
