Child Abuse Under the Guise of "Compassion"

President Biden and the religious left are presiding over an ongoing, expanding border crisis, while deceiving Americans to believe it's an act of "compassion."

Not only are their actions child abuse, but they are also deceptive to the American public, directly enriching friends of  President Biden, and anti-biblical to the core.

Be informed, not misled.

Illegal aliens are continuing to flood into the US as a direct result of President Biden misleading the illegals by telling them not to come now with a squeaky little voice while directing them to all the free stuff with his bull horn.

Then telling the American people, "Honest, I'm telling them not to come."

He's also enriching his friends who are being given lucrative, no-bid contracts to help manage the fiasco he has created by having no legitimate plan to deal with illegal immigration at our southern border.

And don't forget that the children coming across our border as quickly as they can walk across the boundary---which isn't a boundary anymore, are not mostly toddlers as the media presents them to be, but are mostly older teens. But all are being exploited by the left.

First, let's follow the money.

The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families has awarded a no-bid $530 million contract to an organization called "Family Endeavors" to help with the "emergency intake" and "wrap-around-care" of the migrant children---who are teens, not toddlers.

The contract is the second-largest ever to be awarded by ACF and the second from HHS to go to Family Endeavors.

Already HHS has opened more than a dozen facilities in southern border states and in Michigan and Pennsylvania, to hold the more than 18,000 children the president has brought into the US.

This is the second time in the last few days the Biden administration has given Family Endeavors a no-bid contract. This one for $530 million, a couple of weeks ago they received a no-bid contract for $87 million.

This deal is shady because while Family Endeavors has no contract history with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) prior to last month, the leadership of the company does have very close ties to Joe Biden.

Family Endeavors has a former senior official on the Biden transition team in its leadership.

The Washington Examiner story linked above carefully details the connections. I encourage you to read it.

The only conclusion you can draw, knowing the back story is that the border crisis is working very well financially for Biden's cronies.

Follow the politics.

Biden's biggest contribution to our border crisis is to have worked tirelessly to reverse every possible Trump border policy as quickly as possible---which by all accounts were working very well.

Some in our government border administration complex who had been critical of  President Trump, have now changed their tune, and a number of former Trump critics are quitting their jobs because of the political chaos President Biden has created.

By all accounts, President Biden seems to have no policy, or solution for the disaster he has created on the border. George Soros and his allies may be smiling, but ordinary Americans are not.

Biden, knowing the border is out of control, defaulted to Vice President Kamala Harris, claiming she was highly qualified to solve his problem.

Her problem is that she has historically been an open borders, not secure borders advocate.

After being silent for nearly a month after being given the job, her people have finally announced she "will " be visiting the border.

Clearly, she did not want to "be in charge" of the border "crisis" that the Biden administration has been calling a "challenge," not a "crisis."

In an apparent attempt to spread the chaos across the country, and away from the Texas and Arizona borders, Biden has been literally dumping unaccompanied kids in cities and towns, some with no advance notice to city officials.

It's that bad.

Reports are now confirming that people on suspected terror lists are embedded with these kids being deposited in cities and towns across America.

Is this really an act of biblical compassion as Biden, Rev. Jim Wallis, and others of the religious left claim?

Open borders advocates like to claim that the Bible supports what they call "comprehensive immigration reform" which essentially really means open borders.

Jim Wallis and his Sojourners organization are probably the largest advocates, but there are many.

The religious left's favorite Scripture to support their position is usually Leviticus 19:33-34:

"And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt."

Exodus 23:9 reminds us we know how a stranger feels, "For you lived as strangers in the land of Egypt."

Clearly, anyone of Judeo-Christian faith, when they read that passage, would want to do the right thing regarding the "stranger" in our land.

The religious left has built an open borders movement off that Scripture and a couple of others they feel support open borders.

The key question is, "Who is the stranger?"

The religious left argues that a stranger is any foreigner who immigrates, including those who broke the law.

"Welcome the stranger" is now the banner for the religious left in their advocacy of, essentially, open borders. And it's always linked with "compassion."

The Bible clearly defines a stranger as "a man of non-Israelite birth, resident in the promised land with the permission of the Israelite authorities." Your Bible dictionary will lead you to these verses.

So a stranger in Israel was an immigrant who was in the country with permission. Our founding immigration laws were based on Judeo-Christian principles.

When a stranger is mentioned in the Bible, it always refers to a legal alien, not an illegal one---as in Leviticus 19:33-34.

Borders were important in the most ancient biblical times. When Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt, he asked permission each time he crossed a border and entered a new land. When he was denied permission to enter, he changed course and took a different route.

About 2000 years before Christ, Egypt was an oasis of prosperity and opportunity, much like the United States is today. It was a magnet for migrants suffering from climate or economic difficulties. When famine struck the land of Canaan, Abraham, for example, turned to Egypt for relief (Genesis 12: 10).

Egypt didn't appreciate the surge at their borders because it included hostile marauders and foreign barbarians, which they deemed a threat to their country.

In Genesis 12 we see the story where Abraham lied to the authorities, claiming his wife was his sister, and the authorities expelled him from Egypt. And Abraham complied with the authorities. He did not try to sneak back in.

In Hebrew, the Bible uses two different words to define a "foreigner" and an "alien." A foreigner was a person from another land---like a tourist or businessman, who was only in the country temporarily but with permission.

An alien was a person from another land who planned to take up residence, again with the permission of the host country.

When Abraham's great-grandson Joseph wanted to bring his father and brothers to Egypt during another great famine, he had to get permission from Pharoah. Even though he held a high position in government, Joseph himself, was not Egyptian. He was a guest---a foreigner and could not legally bring his family into the land.

When Joseph's brothers returned, they appealed to Pharoah again (Gen. 47:4-6) to allow them to live in the land of Goshen.

God has called us to a life of compassion and charity and helping the poor.

Nowhere in the Bible are we instructed to remove the security of borders in the name of the Lord, yet that's exactly what the religious left is calling for.

Compassion and charity do not require we look the other way when someone breaks the law, nor does it demand we deconstruct our nation.

What the Biden administration is doing on our southern border is child abuse---not compassion, yet they claim they're doing it in the name of the Lord.

All this while enriching Biden's friends.
