The Ugly Truth About Portland Is Laid Bare

On Sunday, the Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, ordered 200 National Guard troops in Oregon to deploy to Portland in response to President Trump's Saturday announcement that he was authorizing troop deployment to assist in quelling the unrest, violence, and significant presence of Antifa extremists at the city's ICE facility.

"I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, noting he was authorizing the use of "full force" if necessary.

The President stated that the mission was to protect federal agents and property for a period of 60 days.

In response, Oregon's Attorney General, Dan Rayfield (D), announced the state would be filing a lawsuit on the grounds that Trump "lacks authority" to order this action.

As law and order come to town, the lights are turned up, and the Democrats panic.

Be informed, not misled.

Red State says, "Unfortunately, that may not be the worst of what we've seen from Oregon Democrats in recent days."

There has also been the extreme gaslighting of Oregon's voters, showing photos and videos of what the city looks like during the day, well before Antifa ghouls slither out at night to inflict maximum chaos and damage:

In another tweet, Wyden proclaimed that Trump was "launching an authoritarian takeover of Portland hoping to provoke conflict in my hometown," as though the conflict was not already provoked - by Antifa.

It's well known that although Sen. Wyden is elected to "represent" the people of Oregon, he lives in New York and visits his constituents in Oregon on an "as-needed" basis.

Portland's Democrat mayor, Keith Wilson, repeated the false talking point about there being no violence or lawlessness in his city:

Here's Democrat Gov. Tina Kotek, suggesting there is no threat to national security even as agitators were spotted dragging out guillotines in recent weeks at the ICE facility on top of everything else they've done, which has included breaching the building:

Washington State's Sen. Patty Murray declared that "Portland is a beautiful and vibrant city—it is not a war zone. The President needs to keep the military out of the Pacific Northwest."

Democrats have suggested that Trump is basing his actions on 2020 video clips of Portland during the George Floyd riots, but there are countless clips of the last 90 days or so of Antifa and other militants surging Portland's ICE location.

One of the newer ones that prove Kotek, Wyden, and others are lying when they say Portland and Oregon have been able to effectively police their streets:

Independent journalist Andy Ngo, who has been viciously harassed and assaulted during the Antifa riots that he's covered, and who has been a frequent target of death threats, has come to the conclusion that some others have, that perhaps Oregon Democrats have found Antifa and their thuggish allies useful in their fight to control the narrative:

Let the "mostly peaceful" demonstrations begin.

Federal activity around the ICE building doesn't just involve ground forces, but also a response by air via Blackhawk helicopters and drones, the latter of which is something the agitators allegedly tried to counter with lasers.

The FBI posted this:

"FBI Portland & our federal partners @FPSDHS @HSISeattle searched a residence associated with a subject who is alleged to have aimed a laser at a @CBP helicopter conducting law enforcement activity in the skies over Portland, as well as another aircraft in the area on 9/27."

As it turns out, the suspect whom the FBI Portland says was aiming lasers at CBP helicopters is... an illegal immigrant.

As are three others who were also at the residence with the suspect.

All four are now in custody:

@FBIPortland

"Agents made contact with the subject, as well as three other inhabitants who were at the residence. All four suspects are in the U.S. illegally, and were placed into the custody of @EROSeattle"

Not only are they in custody, but they are also being processed for deportation, according to Fox News. The laser was also taken from the residence.

Keep in mind, lasers do and have caused serious injury to federal law enforcement officers.

Takeaway

In 2020, amid the George Floyd riots, numerous federal agents suffered eye injuries as a result of the use of lasers by Portland's leftist mobs.

The deputy director of the Department of Homeland Security says federal officers in Portland suffered 113 eye injuries while guarding a courthouse from activists armed with powerful lasers.

The usually green beams produce uncomfortable heat, unlike common small red pointers, Ken Cuccinelli said Tuesday at a Senate subcommittee hearing on the clashes in Oregon.

“Pointing lasers at an aircraft is extremely dangerous,” said U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan. “A laser aimed at an aircraft blinds the pilot and makes it difficult, if not impossible, for the persons in the cockpit to read their instruments. Persons who are found pointing lasers at aircraft will be prosecuted.”

“When aimed at an aircraft, a beam of light from a handheld laser can illuminate a cockpit, disorienting and temporarily blinding the pilot or pilots of the craft, and in this case, preventing police from completing important public safety work,” said Keri Farley, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta. “It's not a game. It's a federal felony that the FBI and our law enforcement partners take very seriously.”

According to local reports, the 200 Oregon National Guard troops could arrive in Portland as soon as tomorrow (Thursday). Please keep all those involved in trying to return the city to a peaceful and lawful state in your prayers.

To be lawless is to be contrary to the law or to act without regard to the law. Laws are necessary in a sinful world (1 Timothy 1:9), and those who choose to act lawlessly further sin in the world. The word for “lawlessness” in the Bible is often translated “iniquity.” According to the Bible, the root of all lawlessness is rebellion.

When a society ignores the law, lawlessness is the result, and chaos ensues. The time of the judges after Joshua’s death was marked by upheaval, oppression, and general disorder. The biblical historian puts his finger on the reason for the tumult: “In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit” (Judges 21:25). The riot in Ephesus is a good example of lawlessness in action (Acts 19). The rioters were confused and unsure even of why they were rioting (verse 32); in their lawlessness, they were ignoring proper legal channels (verse 39) and, of course, breaking the law (verse 40).

God has a purpose for establishing human government: “to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right” (1 Peter 2:14). Rulers are God’s appointees to maintain order and promote righteousness in a civil society. “Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves” (Romans 13:2).
