American Idol Gives Back---and Advances Abortion

Last night, according to Variety Magazine, 18.4 million people watched as American Idol used celebrities, corporations and President and Michelle Obama, to raise millions of dollars for charity.

Who could not be moved by the faces and conditions of children in America, Kenya and elsewhere, who are in desperate need.

I have personally worked among them in Kenya and other countries of the world. Their need is real.

However, the viewers heard a lot about "Save The Children" and the "United Nations Foundation." While these organizations do some good work, they operate under the prevailing philosophy that abortion is family planning and healthcare.

Doug Scott, president of Life Decisions International, a pro-life organization, told LIFENEWS that, "Save the Children worked with Planned Parenthood, the Population Action Council and the pro-abortion Audubon Society on it's five-year 'Planet Campaign'."

This effort strongly advocates abortion as part of their focus, "To raise awareness of the connections between international family planning and the health of children, women and the environment." It was funded by the David and Lucile Packard and Bill and Melinda Gates foundations.

Save The Children says, "family planning" has been a "critical component" of it's work for 20 years.

Save The Children has been in alliance with Planned Parenthood during those 20 years.

"Family planning" = Abortion.

Several divisions of the United Nations Foundation have donated funds to Planned Parenthood and have aggressively lobbied pro-life nations to set aside protections for unborn children in favor of promoting abortion or "family planning".

Scott also told LIFENEWS that American Idol recently supported a fundraising campaign for Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles.

It is commendable that Idol or anyone else would step up and want to help the poor.

But it is both tragic and revealing that one of TV's top shows would funnel millions of donated dollars to those organizations who present themselves as "angels of light" while advancing a culture of death under the guise of "helping people".

I thought you may want to be informed.

God help us.

Be Discerning. Be Prayerful.

God bless you.
