The Priorities of the President

Although he chose not to make an appearance at Arlington National Cemetery to honor those who have served our country, as presidents normally do, President Obama did not miss his date with destiny in proclaiming June 2010, "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Month."

On Friday, before leaving for his ill-fated encounter with Mother Nature in Illinois, he took time to proclaim for the second time as President, June 2010, to be LGBT Month, however this year he also emphasized his intention to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, elevate homosexual relationships to that of marriage, secure "adoption rights" for homosexuals and repeal the "don't ask, don't tell" military policy.

He sends Vice President Biden to celebrate and honor our American heroes while he declares the entire month of June a national time to honor, celebrate and elevate perversion.

A conflicted President and a confused culture.

The President says he does not favor homosexual marriage, yet as
Peter Spriggs from Family Research points out, "Every policy he supports is designed to undermine the traditional definition of marriage or undermine the uniqueness of marriage as a union between a man and a woman."

Part of his proclamation says, "Much work remains to fulfill our nation's promise of equal justice under law for LBGT Americans. That is why we must give committed gay couples the same rights and responsibilities afforded any married couple, and repeal the Defense of Marriage Act."
Repeal the defense of marriage as the homosexuals are demanding, but not favor homosexual marriage?

Incremental deconstruction of marriage and the family.

When the defense of marriage is gone, the President will stand by and say there is no law or policy that prohibits same-sex marriage, so there is really nothing I can do about it.

Will polygamists receive the same support? There are those asking for it now. If not, why not?

A conflicted man.

And what about his priorities?

Andrea Lafferty, with Traditional Values Coalition, told
CNSNEWS, "We have a nation that's facing great unemployment and economic crises and what is the President pushing? Gay Transgender stuff and gays in the military." She said, "They've been pushed ahead of dealing with the Gulf disaster."

Homosexual activists are applauding, while America prepares for an election.

God help us.

  1. From the CBS News Blog:

Let's set the record straight. Mr. Obama will participate (on Memorial Day) in a ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois, about 50 miles south of Chicago. He is not the first president to be away from Washington on a patriotic holiday.

The critics were either ignorant of the facts or they failed to mention the 2007 Veterans Day ceremony when Vice President Dick Cheney spoke while President George W. Bush observed the holiday in Texas.

Vice President Dan Quayle laid the wreath at Arlington on Memorial Day, 1992. I recall covering President George H.W. Bush, a distinguished World War II vet, as he marked the holiday that year at his favorite vacation spot, Kennebunkport, Maine, where he spoke to a veterans group.

Back in 1983, a Defense Department official laid the Memorial Day wreath at Arlington when Ronald Reagan was at a G-7 Summit meeting in Williamsburg, Virginia.

This is far from a complete list, but presidents have been at places other than Arlington on Memorial Day.

  2. I'm going to be a bit angry if I find out that the military could have destroyed the leaking pipe at ocean floor level, if that would have stopped the oil from coming up.

I don't know if an explosion at the ocean floor of the thing would have stopped it from coming up or not, but if it turns out to be so, how I wish it would have been done from day one.

Can we really expect God to give us simple solutions to our problems (whatever they might be)
if we have refused to honor him and the things he has told us that are right?

How can we receive his good things if we put the bad things up as if they are good instead?

How can a nation go forward as it walks backward?

May God save America his way for his purposes in Christ.

  4. CBS News Blog. In setting the record straight, Mr. Obama did not actually participate in a memorial ceremony on Memorial Day. Thunder and lightening canceled the event in Ill.
Gary indicated that presidents "normally" attend this function at Arlington, some have not, however as we learn of this President's disdain and lack of real personal support for the military, it makes it dificult when we observe that he can get home for McCartney, but can't make it across the river for 30 minutes at Arlington.
    Home in DC.

  5. 5:22 PM,

But Obama wasn't across the river from Arlington, he was in Chicago, at the Memorial Service there, it was cancelled at the last minute because of safety concerns.

  6. I just can't help but think that stopping that oil leak could be as simple as letting the military explode something on the ocean floor to cut all the hardware off flush with the bottom, then get some barges with crushed rock, sand, whatever and start dumping when they have the location dialed in. They have the sea cameras don't they?

Too bad we didn't have some kind of plan like this after first giving them about 48 hours to stop it. In two days the explosive people and the loaded barges could have been ready it seems to me.

Hard for me to believe a simple plan like that wouldn't work, but I'm no expert, just a carpenter.

  7. Now I hear the oil well in the gulf is capped but they haven't been able to close the vents that are leaking the vast majority of the oil.

It seems to me that the pipe should be filled with something if they can't close those vents.

  8. As I understand it, what the Russians did was bore an intersecting shaft almost to the leak's hole, and detonated a small tactical nuke.

The risk is that the explosion will just make a massive fracture field around its edges and the oil might find its way to the surface in many many spots and have the added benefit of bringing up radioactivity along with it.

What's worse than a run away gusher? One thats now leaking out of a hundred places and radioactive to boot one mile below the surface of the Gulf.

Two of the Russian nukes went horribly wrong with one area still having 10,000 times the plutonium norm in their drinking water and the other with an underground 2km 'hot spot' that is still being monitored 40 years later to insure that ground water doesn't pass through the area and spread the radiation. Even the Russians have stopped their nukes for economic purposes program.

That plus the Kyshtym disaster means to me that taking nuclear bomb usage advice from the Russians should always be taken with a big grain of salt (preferably not radioactive.)
