PP CEO Cecile Richards: Lying? Or Uninformed?

Whooops. Planned Parenthood has aborted the truth--Again.

Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards told TV talk show host Joy Behar that if the Mike Pence bill to stop taxpayer funds from going to Planned Parenthood becomes law, "Millions of women in this country are gonna lose their healthcare access---not just to abortion services, to basic family planning, you know, mammograms."

Does Planned Parenthood provide mammograms?

Well, no. Actually they do not provide mammograms.

Then why, Ms. Richards, will they loose access to mammograms if Pence shuts off the $363 million that is coming to Planned Parenthood from taxpayers?

Is she lying to the public? Or is she that uninformed regarding her company?

You must take 2 minutes and watch this video.

Live Action called 30 Planned Parenthood clinics in 27 different cities asking if they could come in for a mammogram. In every case they said they do not do mammograms.

In fact, the Planned Parenthood girl in Memphis referred the caller to "Christ Community Service" for a mammogram.

Lila Rose, president of Live Action says, "Planned Parenthood is first and foremost an abortion business, but will do and say almost anything to try and cover up that fact and preserve its taxpayer funding. It's not surprising that an organization found concealing statutory rape and helping child sex traffickers would misrepresent its own services so brazenly, playing on women's fears in order to protect their tax dollars."

Please take 2 minutes and watch the video.

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Prayerful. Be Active.

  1. I just want to say thanks to Planned Parenthood. When my wife and I were much younger and couldn't afford a private doctor, planned parenthood was there for us. Because they provided birth control pills, we never had an unplanned pregnancy and never had to face a decision regarding abortion.

  2. Thanks Gary. It is a mystery to me how people can simply look past the continuing scandal with Planned Parenthood. They appear to be compromised to the core. I'm wondering why the CEO would lie on national television or worse yet, not even know what Planned Parenthood does and does not do. Apparently they will say and do anything to cover themselves. I didn't pay much attention to them until I began to learn about their operation from reading your blogs. Keep up the good work.

  3. Fox News is also reporting on this story this morning. Planned Parenthood say they never made that claim, that they were talking in generalities of what could happen if the Republicans cut health care money. Thanks Gary

  5. With baseball season set to begin I wonder what Planned Parenthood's batting average would be on truth. "0"

  6. If you try often enough in a large organization, you can get a hidden video of an overzealous employee willing to bend the rules to help someone, even if it would be illegal.

If illegal activity is rampant in PP, where are the prosecutions? Where are the convictions?

If you want to see organizations compromised to the core, look at churches or the boy scouts. There's a long history of actual prosecutions, verdicts, and settlements for child molestation and cover ups.

  7. Should we be surprised at Ms. Richards comments. Satan is the father of all lies and his children just have learned from the true source. Bud in Lynnwood

  8. Someone in this story certainly is a liar, but it isn't the CEO of PPFA, it's the dishonest woman, who labelled her video "Planned Parenthood cheats taxpayers with imaginary mammograms". Exactly how many mammograms has PP charged taxpayers for? Unless the total is >0, and Ms Rose can prove that NO PP clinics provide mammograms - as opposed to the 0.5% of clinics Rose allegedly called- Ms Rose's title is less than honest - a lie. One wonders did Rose contact PP or Richards to follow up? That is what an investigative reporter - as Rose likes to claim to be- would do.

Not to mention that this whole mammograms is a red herring. The vast majority of women, receiving taxpayer funded reproductive health care (eg. pap smears, breast exams, STI testing and treatment, birth control etc.) are younger, and mammograms for screening aren't medically indicated - and certainly wouldn't be taxpayer funded- for those under age 50.

But there we have the current assault on PP in a nutshell. Find some minor tangential issue, which can be misrepresented in dishonestly edited tapes, and blow it all out of proportion making outrageous claims that aren't even supported by the dishonestly edited "evidence".

  9. It's not the point that taxpayers were or weren't charged for mammograms. The point is that the CEO doesn't know what her own organization does or doesn't do. She created the red herring and is being called to account for her incompetence.

The assault on PP has to do with their murderous abortion business, not pap smears and STD testing.

  10. Craig,

You may now say that's not the point, but Ms Rose's dishonest headline disagrees with you.

More to the point if PP provided mammograms in 50% of their clinics would that make Richard's statement true? Since Ms Rose only claims to have contacted 5% of clinics, it's entirely possible.

  11. Then why was PP so quick to distance itself from their CEO's statement. Either she knows what she's talking about or she doesn't.

  12. 10:03 Planned Parenthood has not provided mammograms in any of their clinics prior to this incident. I have been told they are rushing equipment to some of the clinics following this revelation.
Do you know of one PP clinic that provided mammograms prior to this? Not 50%. Just 1 PP clinic.

  13. Frankly, I'm not concerned if they don't do mammograms. And I'm not concerned if their CEO misspoke. If their CEO isn't qualified, they should find a new one. Planned Parenthood provides a great service and I stand behind their work, not their CEO.

You guys didn't advocate shutting down the New Life Church just because Ted Haggard was busted with a male prostitute. No, you just found a new minister.

  14. PP provides the service of murder for hire. I don't care who their CEO is either.

PP needs to find a new line of work.
