New Obama Slogan, "Forward": A Karl Marx Cue?

Paid for by Faith and Freedom PAC

While President Obama plans to introduce his new re-election slogan "Forward" tomorrow in rallies in Ohio and Virginia, Mrs Obama told the folks in Tucson last Monday, "We are blessed to have him" as President.

Forward.

And Blessed.

Both the slogan and the statement were intended to cause people to think about the future, although the 7-minute video that introduces his new slogan spends a good deal of time "looking back" at the crises he inherited coming into the White House. He simply can't seem to mentally get past George W. Bush, whether he looks forward or backward.

What is really concerning is when you realize that all the President's men (and women) didn't take a moment to look back beyond President Bush at the recent history of the slogan, "Forward."

It should be terrorizing to conservative Americans if you think he did actually look back and knows full well what he is symbolizing with his new slogan.

When I read about his new slogan, my mind went back to another time when, as a school kid in the Yakima Valley, we practiced air raid drills and the like and talked about how communism, Marxism and socialism was the enemy of our way of life.

The word "Forward" was a hallmark term for socialist Marx, his son-in-law Paul LaFaque, Lenin, Engels and other European socialists. Socialism activists frequently used "Forward" to advance their socialist agenda. Campaigns, pamphlets and newspapers were called "Forward." It was the banner carried to the formation of the Soviet Union.

I'm not the only one who thought of that. Victor Morton also thought about it and wrote a column for the Washington Times about it. This is part of what he wrote:

New Obama slogan has long ties to Marxism, socialism

Published on April 30, 2012

The Obama campaign apparently didn't look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, "Forward" — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.

Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called "Forward (generic name of socialist publications).

The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications," the online encyclopedia explains.

The slogan "Forward!" reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.

The Obama campaign released its new campaign slogan Monday in a 7-minute video. The title card has simply the word "Forward" with the "O" having the familiar Obama logo from 2008. It will be played at rallies this weekend that mark the Obama re-election campaign's official beginning.

There's more historical information in the article.. I have linked it above. You should read it.

We cannot count all the ways in which Obamacare will "bless" us, however, we do know that if it stands, it will fund sterilization for women and all FDA- approved contraceptives, including abortifacients, or abortion pills.

By most financial proformas it will also bankrupt our country.

Many believe, myself included, that the health care plan is one of the greatest attacks on religious liberty in American history.

It is also a giant leap into European socialism.

And thinking about Moving Forward, reminds me of President Obama's defined destination. And perhaps sheds more light on the choice of his slogan "Forward," and the ideology of many of the people the President was associated with prior to becoming President and some of his appointments since becoming President.

When the President had completed his first 100 days in office, he returned to Missouri, where he had concluded his successful campaign for the Presidency, and spoke to the kids at Fox High School in Arnold Missouri.

His words:

"So today on my 100th day in office, I've come to report to you, the American people, that we have begun to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and we've begun the work of re-making America. ( applause) We're working to re-make America."

Indeed he is.

So "Forward" is an abandonment of the dynamic principles of free enterprise and an unprecedented rush toward socialism where the "Blessing" will be provided by the State. Not the "God who gave us liberty"

Re-making America.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower once said, "Every step we take towards making the State the Caretaker of our lives, by that much more we move toward making the State our Master."

In the "work of re-making of America," we have learned that "Forward" and "Blessed" also means an abandonment of the biblical moral principles upon which this country was founded and has thrived.

Marriage and family, in this new "re-made" State is to be redefined, with the President himself declaring the Defense of Marriage Act, (DOMA) which was passed by passed by Congress, null and void.

Abortion on demand is a right and the "re-made" State will figure out ways to pay for it, while advancing a complete disregard for the sanctity of life and it's Creator. Forgetting God, we will call tolerance 'truth", biblical beliefs "bigotry" and perversion "normal."

In our rush "Forward," we will forget that Founder Patrick Henry warned us, "When we forget God, tyrants forge our chains."

We will forget, until the discomfort and weight of the chains become unbearable and the bondage of them intolerable.

Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. President, for reminding us of the path we are walking as we move "Forward". And the "Blessings" it will bring.

It is time to once again "Let Freedom Ring".

Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Prayerful. Be Active. Be Blessed.

    2. Prevented a depression for one, got affordable health care passed for another. I mean McCain's main financial advisor was the author of the bill that almost collapsed our economy - the alternative would have been horrific.

And now the president is running against someone who has taken both sides on virtually every issue of interest - barring a third party keeping the president is the only sane way to go.

    3. You have got to be a socialist or out of your cotton picking mind to give Obama another 4 years? Sorry' what almost collapsed our economy and the mortgage sector was a little Progressive Liberal sceem called the Community Reinvestment Act! With help from President Bill Clinton and his budget director Franklin D. Rains who went on to be head of Fanny Mae! GWB & McCain tried to stop the Progressive pozi sceem as far back as 2003 but were blocked by Progressive Democrats in congress! That is fact!

    4. Oshtur, You are out of your mind! The Progressive Liberals with their Communty Reinvestment Act, A.C.O.R.N. Fanny Mae, Freddy Mac. Bill Clinton signing legislation having the federal government (tax payers) cover all the bogus mortgages. Clintons budget director Franklin D.Rains who went on to be head of Fanny Mae was a crook that was ordered to pay back 27 millon but did no jail time! Remember Barney Frank stating in 2003 congressional investigation hearing that Fanny mae & freddy mac were solvent when they were not! George Bush & John McCain both tried to stop the Progressive Liberal ponzi sceam in 2003 but were blocked by Progressive Liberals in congress! You need to get your facts straight partner so you don't look like a fool! BTW, that healthcare legislation you speak of will be affordable when this government controls it. The only ones collapsing this capitolist republic is the Progressive Socialist in the Obama Administration.

No just better informed. The financial collapse was caused by the unrestricted and unmonitored and unmonitorable by law selling of 'credit default swap' insurance which were allowed by the bill crafted by McCain's advisor. They were used to make any loan look 'triple A' - it was the selling of unbackable insurance that made them look sound. If these weren't available then the home loans would not have even been made.

Enron used the loopholes this legislation created and they were plugged after its collapse. It was the information coming in after that that scared the Republicans, what they didn't share with other members of Congress was just how bad they knew the problem was from what had gone before. But that's a hard decision - so much of the financial market is based on hope and just coming out and saying that there were 10 times the amount of insurance promises out there than could be paid would have cause a market panic. They were hoping to turf this problem off to the next president and they almost succeeded.

When the insurance came due it turned this 'promised loan insurance' into real debt and it bankrupted the system. That's why the bailout was necessary, so they could pay off these credit default promises they had made without collapsing the entire US based banking system. The alternative would have been to let all the promises of insurance default, the system collapse and a new one form in countries with remaining assets like China.

It was the standard Republican credit card economic boost they are famous for that came and bit them this time around. And this administration prevented the worst of the repercussions.

Again, the other guy is one who was against all the things that worked in the recovery and has taken both sides of every issue of importance to the entire electorate.

Obama is the only sane choice for president.

    6. Oshtur ... You are drinking the coolaid.
Credit swaps were like pouring gas on a fire. The fire was all ready lit and roaring by the Community Reinvestment Act which lit the fire with stated income mortgage loans. People on welfare could get a home and default on them almost immediately. By the time they would get foreclosed they could live in the place for a year.

You must really truly believe that increasing the debt by 6 trillion (over 50%) is a good thing somehow. You probably also believe that cutting our military would yield us tremendous savings and enable the government to spend that money to equalize the divide between the haves and the have nots. You also probably believe that anyone who makes more than $250K a year is down right evil and probably screwing some poor suckers to get that much.

Face it, you are someone who has signed up for socialism. If you read Forward by Karl Marx you would probably relate to it very well.

My question to you is this:

Why wait till Obama re-engineers this country? Why wait for us hard headed conservatives to stop fighting you. Why? Why when you can book a one way flight to Cuba and find you model society? You would no longer have to endure all the travesty of a free market society... So much opportunity for you?

      Delete
    7. Its hard to believe anyone could have that understanding of the collapse. People were given loans because they qualified, because the loans were rated AAA by those that shouldn't have. And those bogus AAA loans were insured by credo default swaps...

As to your question it seems to be to someone that lives in your head, not me. You don't know what my opinion is on any of those subjects but you seem to already know it. You seem to be fearful of policies that just a decade or so ago were Republican ones.

Your fear is toxic and self-inflicted, I feel sorry for you that you are that scared but the only person who can help you is you. No one is trying to turn the US in to Cuba, no one is trying to take away freedoms, there is no boogie man in your closet.

    8. Oshtur...you're what is called a "useful fool" by Marxists. If you haven't noticed, our freedoms are blinking out one-by-one already. The Obama Marxist regime is even trying to tell us what to discuss around our Thanksgiving tables today. Their intrusion into every aspect of our lives is rampant and accelerating. George Orwell was a visionary in "1984"...

      Delete
    9. But no specifics? Again the biggest intrusions happened during republican administrations, your sudden concern is suspicious.

And what are these intrusions that have you so agitated now?

Again with no specifics it just all seems paranoia.

  3. The direction I see this great country being pulled both saddens and infuriates me. I was brought up to believe that America is the land of the free, the home of the brave. A fiercely independent people, whose morals and behavior were beyond reproach.
When I came to know Christ, I recognized all the blessings he has poured out on us time and time again. Where are our selfless leaders, like George Washington, who poured themselves out for their country and people out of a love for God and stewardship of the heavy burden of massive responsibility He had entrusted to them?
The only consolation I see is that when we have finally pulled away so fully from God and we have suffered the times of famine and plague, taking sustenance with the pigs in the sty, maybe we will see His blessings and turn back to our God in earnest. I worry for our children who will have to endure these times of brutality that are coming.

  4. Let’s not forget the fun and good times brought about by Marxist regimes. The horrors of the Eugenics programs of the past are being given a white-washed veneer, polished and pushed on the front-lines. They don't call it Eugenics anymore, anyone with half a recollection would immediately think of Margaret Sanger and the mission of Planned Parenthood, or the genetic cleansing to seek the “pure” German race (There is an amazingly insightful article at http://hnn.us/articles/1796.html it even discusses the American root and funding of the Nazi eugenics program through the Rockefeller Foundation). Eugenics seeks to fit everyone into the mold as a select group sees fit, it is part of the ideal of the Utopian Society, where the State will take care of the people, so, the people don't need God. Best to disabuse the "uneducated", "unintellectual" masses of the need of anyone, but the State, the giver and provider of all.

  5. President Obama's intent defines who he is.

so·cial·ism... A political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole. A transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism.

com·mu·nism... A political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.

He looks like a communist to me...

NObama in 2012, the end of an error.

    1. So, are you against all socialism? There are types of socialism that coexist with free enterprise quite nicely. For example, do you think we shouldn't have public parks? That they should be owned by private companies and we should only use parks on a personal pay per use basis? Do you think that's a good idea? Or do you draw the line against socialism somewhere more toward the middle?

  6. Forward is great campaign slogan as it contrasts well to the opposing side that wants to take us backward to the 19th century before we had Social Security, Medicare, employee protections, 40 hour work week, clean air & water laws, etc. And, yes, back to before the Pill.

The whole marxist thing might connect with the hard core extreme right but not with average american. So go ahead scream commie pinko at the top of your lungs. Tell your neighbors that Obama wants a pure white race (hee hee). Run with it as far as you can and then watch us take back the House! Remember how well the birther thing worked out? Now, don't forget to tell everyone that you want to outlaw birth control. In fact, I'd lead with that.

  7. Oh why so " anonymous!" is it because you cannot name one socialistic country that has persevered! Even Europe, mildly socialistic, has a sinking economy! Like Chavez' s Venezuela! It would be easier for "anonymous" to migrate to those socialistic countries, but he/she is still here because the govt. pickings from the likes of Obama ( never had a real job) and people like Soros who finance agitators for social change ( for the worse). People primarily advocating socialism are actually the "wounded" rich, like actors, secular Jews and secular " Christians." they are too rich to be affected even if they ruin our economy and future. Our job is to be vigilant, speak boldly and go donate money and vote!

    1. You need to define 'socialistic'. If you mean 100% socialistic, you're right, it's a bad economic model. But there are many countries doing extremely well with a nice mix of capitalism and socialism. Norway, Canada, Sweden, Germany, etc. In, fact Norway has the happiest citizens on the planet and they're doing very well. Keep in mind that some of the socialistic countries that are currently struggling are doing so because they're tied to the Euro and the worst ones are hurting everyone. Economics is pretty complicated, and it's just not as simple as all socialism is bad and all capitalism is good, or vice versa.

Many of socialistic European countries have health care and education systems that are vastly out performing ours. Some of them suck. We need to model the best. And keep in mind, no one is modeling our system.

As for your stereotypes of who supports socialistic programs, they truly are just ridiculous stereotypes force fed from talk radio. Personally, I don't need 'government pickings' and it's hilarious you would assume so. I'm a self employed entrepreneur and doing fine.

    2. While I would agree that we're not perfect, our economic system has produced the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth. That is not an accident. I don't see our citizens stampeding to Norway or Germany, but the most impoverished in the world are sure trying their hardest to get here. I don't blame them in the least.

      Craig in Lacey

      Delete
    3. Actually Craig, immigration to and emigration from Germany and Norway with respect to the US is more or less a wash, with about the same number of folks moving in each direction. Also, if you do some research, you'll find that it isn't just the USA to which the most impoverished on the world are trying their hardest to get, they are also trying to emigrate to European countries, Japan, Korea and even other countries in the developing world.

I also can't help but notice that there aren't huge backlogs of folks from Norway, Germany and other European countries trying to emigrate to the USA.

      Delete
    4. I actually investigated moving to Norway, it's actually quite hard to do. The lack of stampede is not surprising.

Maybe you could document that the world's impoverished want to be in the US. I couldn't find any stats and I know that other countries take much better care of the poor.

And, yes, we are the wealthiest and most powerful nation. Sheer size, population, and resources played a significant role. Also, keep in mind that we became that with a mix of capitalism and socialism. A big chunk of our growth came with top tax rates of 90% and regulations that kept our banks from becoming casinos.

Our nations rich are paying the lowest tax rates in history. And when we talk about going back to what they were a few years ago when we were doing well, your side starts crying Marxism.

      Delete
    5. I never claimed that all the worlds poor were trying to get here, just a significant number. The fact that 2 oceans separate us from most of the impoverished world acts as a natural barrier and still they risk their lives to get here. I haven't read about any boat people from the U.S. risking life and limb to get to Europe or China.

Russia dwarfs us in sheer size and natural resourses. China in sheer population and has significant natural resourses and size of its own. Both these countries went no where with the policies of Marx. I agree, unfettered capitalism is a disaster, so is unfettered socialism.

We became the wealthiest and most powerful because people were willing and able to invest in the future without the government telling them how they had to spend their money or give more and more of your money to us, we know how to spend it better. Charity begins at home, not with Uncle Sam. The concept of "love thy neighbor as thyself" predates socialist or capitalist concepts by several millenia.

Our government has poured more and more money into education, still we lag behind other developed nations. Hmmm.... couldn't be because we can't get rid of incompetent teachers because of socialist unions. Couldn't be because parents think its the govs. job to educate their kids and they're not responsible if the kids don't go to school or learn anything. Our goverment has poured more and more money into courts and prisons, they can't build them fast enough. Hmmm... couldn't be because we have a entitlement mentality fostered by our culture. You owe me! I want it all and I want it now! I'm gonna get mine! The problems in our world are not economic, they are spiritual. We seek to do our will, not God's. As long as that doesn't change, the suffering will continue.

I think the rich should pay more, I actually would prefer a flat tax, say 15%, no deductions for anybody. If you make 10 bucks you pay $1.50, if you make a million $150,000. That's as fair as it gets.

      Craig in Lacey

    6. "We became the wealthiest and most powerful because.. ..or give more and more of your money to us"

Wrong. Most of our big growth was during a period of much higher tax rates, even up to 90%. The current crisis occurred after huge tax cuts.

      Delete
  8. Really, you think the "robber barons" paid anything close to 90%? The industrial revolution fueled that big growth, socialism had nothing to do with it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No, they didn't pay 90%, but they did pay a boatload more than they do today and so did corporations.

The industrial revolution is a moot point. The point is that the higher tax rate didn't prevent them from investing and growing the economy as you say it will. In fact, it's been the opposite.

      Delete
    2. As I said before, I favor a flat tax for everybody with no deductions. That's as fair as it gets, the more you make, the more you pay. How is the I.R. a moot point, we had huge growth during that period and again after WW2. Socialist doctrine didn't make that happen, free market capitalism did.

I would also support a balanced budget amendment, make government live within their means. They don't seem to want to do that, left or right.

      Craig in Lacey

    3. Flat tax is fair from a strictly monetary viewpoint. Fortunately, our tax code reflects our human values as well.

The IR is a moot point because the discussion is regarding tax rates. The IR occurred during a period of very high tax rates, proving that high taxes will not make the rich take their money and go home. It proves that higher tax rates will not keep them from investing as has been the argument against raising their taxes.

  9. First off who is anyone to say how and where my money is going to go? notice MY MONEY! its not your say or the governments. So your ok if your govt. decides it wants your car and your family and decides where and what they do? This is where this is going. A famous man once said "A government big enough to give you everything you need, is a government big enough to take away everything that you have.... you know who that man was Thomas Jefferson who helped build this country to its greatness but now its failing to pieces thanks to people thinking the govt. can do a much better job of budgeting our money ha! what a joke unemployment is threw the roof, people our on more govt, assistance than ever, Social security is so close to bankrupt well it actually is bankrupt we are floating loans we cant repay! and OBAMA saved us from a depression??? Im sorry to tell you all but we our in a depression we our being forced to believe it's not with loans and other means we can't pay back so it doesn't feel like one yet but what happen's when we can't loan anymore money??? We all know the answer to that question we take it from the rich, then what and who? That's when the truth sets in go ahead and ask Greece what happens. Any how im not for Obama but in a way I hope hes re-elected to wash it all go down and burn and tell my idiotic neighbors HA! look what it got you! I have a back up plan so I am sure I will be fine I have enough gold to probably buy the USA by the time OBAMA's done with it!
