Gays Out To Break The Back Of Barilla

It is becoming a familiar story.

It is also a very troubling story.

A very small minority are acting as a majority, while remaking the culture. The homosexual agenda is moving beyond attacking speech to attacking biblical, traditional beliefs. And doing so with the help of a very complicit press.

A few months ago, the attack was focused on Chick-fil A, now it is Barilla, the world's largest pasta maker.

Guido Barilla, CEO of the Parma, Italy based company simply expressed in an interview on Italian radio their belief in the traditional family.

On Italian radio he said, "For us, the 'sacred family' remains one of the company's core values."

He did not state any activist position against redefining marriage, etc., nor did he express any negative comments toward the homosexual lifestyle, he merely stated his personal belief in the traditional family.

For his beliefs, homosexual activists, aided by the press, are launching a worldwide effort to break the back of Barilla.

Here are a few details and some personal thoughts.

When pressed by the radio host, he continued, "Our family is a traditional family. If gays like our pasta and our advertising, they will eat our pasta; if they don't like that, they will eat someone else's pasta."

Barilla's TV ads are aired worldwide to billions of people.

The radio host continued to press him about why he cast women in traditional roles and why he had not made a commercial featuring a gay family.

He said, "The women are crucial in this," and said he wouldn't add a "gay family" because he didn't want to do so.

Many in the American press have now piled on and are facilitating a worldwide effort to break the back of Barilla.

Some in the American press are, of course, leading.

The Huffington Post is reporting, "In wake of the chairman of Barilla Group's anti-gay comments yesterday that sparked international outrage, one pasta brand wants the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community to know that we have their support."

The pasta company, Buitoni USA, has now posted a new image to their official Facebook page displaying that they fully support the LGBT agenda as well as an apology from Guido Barilla.

The press is mocking Italy for its "backward" ways regarding the advancement of homosexuality in the culture, calling the country's view of the traditional role of the woman and homosexuality, "clueless."

The press says they believe they have a better shot at breaking Barilla than they have toward Chick-fil-A because Chick-fil-A is "content to stay in the South and cater to its conservative Christian customers."

That's not exactly true. Chick-fil-A is applying for a building permit in North Seattle as we speak. Seattle Mayor McGinn and want-to-be-mayor Senator Ed Murray have pledged to anything they can do to stop them from opening a business in Seattle.

They are continuing to expand because they have a good product and good service.

When Chick-fil-A is ready to open in Seattle, we will give you a heads up.

Huffington Post is saying Barilla "needs to drop this claim about what the 'traditional family' is."

"If not," they say, "Basta Barilla Pasta." Translated---"its over."

This, of course, is not about pasta or chicken, it's about the relentless march to remake the America and world culture. It is a crusade to affirm behavior that for the past 5000 years, every major world religion has condemned and every successful civilization rejected. Until now.

Just last week, the federal Centers for Disease Control reported that only about 2% of the men in America are homosexual, contrary to Alfred Kinsey's so-called studies that claim 10%.

It's revealing that CDC has found that 78% of the HIV in America is carried in this 2% group.

Tragically, these facts are not revealed in the public school classroom, the fountain head of indoctrination on behalf of homosexual causes. And the press is generally silent on the matter as well. It isn't politically correct to report these facts.

Too many churches have been silenced in regard to the attack on marriage and the family, although God's Word is very clear on the matter.

There is a narrative in I Kings 19 that shows Elijah as fearful, running for his life, because of the all out attack on godly principles and Truth. In fact, he has come to believe that he is the only one left who still believes in God's Word and Truth.

He says, "I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty; The Israelites have rejected Your covenant, broken Your down Your altars; and put Your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left and they are trying to kill me too."

He had recently witnessed the miracle on Mount Carmel, where God had revealed Himself undeniably, but now Jezebel had pledged to kill him.

Fear and personal preservation had driven him across the country where he had eventually taken refuge in a cave. And this was after he had asked God to let him die.

It was here that God revealed Himself to Elijah after telling him to "come out of the cave"---come out of hiding.

It was not in the roaring wind, the earthquake or the manifestation of fire that God spoke to him. It was through a "still small voice."

The Lord revealed to Elijah that he wasn't the only one, that were 7,000 others in his country who had "not bowed down to Baal, and whose mouth had not kissed him."

The Lord said to Elijah, "Go back the way you came." Return to the task.

I will be talking more about this on the radio this morning live at 9 AM PDT, and rebroadcast at 7:30 PM PDT.

Here's how to listen from anywhere in the world.

Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Informed. Be Prayerful. Be Active. Be Blessed.

  1. Faith and Freedom Staff8:31 AM, September 30, 2013

We have learned this morning, just after this blog was published, that the gay community has indeed broken the back of Brilla. He has made a public video apology. He is telling the world he "has a lot to learn" and will be meeting with the activist groups who challenged his traditional family values.

    1. I hate it when people apologise for something they said, just to appease some group, when the apologist knew from the get-go that what they said was right.

  2. So, let me get this straight.....

The CEO of Starbucks (a publicly traded company) states his support of civil marriage equality, and the anti-gay right launches a major (if ultimately futile) boycott campaign. Apparently this is perfectly acceptable, since Gary not only failed to condemn it but supported it.

A year later, at the shareholders meeting, the CEO told a petulant anti-gay shareholder (who was complaining about the non-existent lost stock value of SBUX), that if he didn't like the return he was getting SBUX he was free to buy any other stock. Gary and the rest of the anti-gay right went into hysterics falsely claiming that the CEO had said Christians weren't welcome @ Starbucks.

Fast forward a year, and the CEO of privately held Barilla makes some mild anti-gay comments, says his company will NEVER feature same sex couples and that if gays don't like it, they can get their pasta elsewhere. Gay groups launch a boycott.

Gary throws a fit about how intolerant those mean nasty gays are.

Oh, and BTW, the CDC did not find that 2% of American men are gay, even the questionable "news" story at the right-wing anti-gay site makes it clear that the CDC found that twice that number of 4% of American men are gay!

If one wishes to "be informed", as the tagline states, they'd be well served by getting their news from a more reliable source!

    1. Maybe you should write your own blog . Then we can have a reliable source . '0)

  3. Unfortunately, what is occurring is a growing quiet hatred of the homosexual population which is exatly the opposite of what they have sought. That undercurrent is growing in reaction to the homosexual group stomping on the rights of Christians to express their beliefs. If homosexuals truly seek respect, they need to work on respecting those that hold differing views. Freedom does mean the right to say and do that which others find disagreable. At this stage, I, myself, have found myself moving from a state of not even noticing/caring/disliking homosexuals to now feeling anger. I have a huge, huge circle of friends and colleagues and the undercurrent is troubling. It's certainly not what they sought but it is certainly now what is growing.

    1. These kinds of statements crack me up. Anonymous likes to pretend that this issue is just a lively debate about a simple political topic -- much like raising taxes or financing mass transit.

But it is not. This topic is about the rights of people. That means, when you state your side, you are getting personal. And when you say something hateful, you do not deserve respect from your targets.

So, forgive me if I don't act respectful when your side tries to portray my family as diseased and morally depraved, wants to vote on my rights, tries to separate my family, or attempts to take my children away.

And, finally, this "undercurrent" of anger you profess to see is not reflected in the polls. The polls show your side losing. And fast.

    2. 11:56

Yuck, yuck, yuck, I'm cracking up too because clearly you don't have a clue. No one said anything about a lively debate,. this is a life or death issue. Yes, it's very personal, especially for the people who will die from the plague that homosexual behavior has introduced, just like the plague that promiscuity has introduced or the plague that bestiality has introduced.

You are morally depraved and if not diseased now, it's coming...... Rights come from God, whether you accept that or not. I love my dog and cat, doesn't mean I have the "right" to marry them, I love my mom, dad, sister, aunt and uncle, doesn't mean I have the "right" to marry them,

There are reasons for that, God forbids it, because he knows the harm that comes from it. It's the same with same-sex relationships.

God says it not out of hate, but love.

I didn't write the 9:25 post, but I agree with much of it. I really don't care whether you respect me or not, love me or not, hate me or not.

What you do need to do is heed God;s warning about sexual immorality and the cost, in this life and the next.

God is not mocked, you WILL reap what you sow.

Never put your faith in polls, only in the risen Christ

You can gain the whole world and lose your soul, then what?

      Craig in Lacey

    3. Craig,

      Your "God" doesn't exist.

Your arrogant threats are hollow and laughable.

    4. Craig, I'm yucking right back atcha. Marry my cat... har har... Marry my sister ... hee hee.

By the way, if rights come only from god, please thank your god for me for the recent supreme court decision which gave my husband and I full marriage rights.

  4. Gary, I thought you were a 'free markets' guy. I guess not so much when it doesn't go your way, huh?

  5. Most atheists I've known go through life biting their tongue every time someone else praises the lord in a business situation rather than making their atheism known because it would likely cost them business or employment promotions due to Christians views of atheists. I can't say I'm sorry to see this finally happening in the other direction.

    1. 2:54

People are breaking the Third Commandment (G-d's name in vain-because He is nothing to them, valueless) in all business arenas and I have yet to hear someone lose business or not get promoted because of it. On the flip side. Have you honestly ever heard anyone get promoted or gain business because they said, "Praise the Lord!" when a deal went great? Usually one says, "Praise the Lord!" AFTER the promotion or business deal went through!

Besides, in a successful business situation, who would athiests have to praise other than themselves anyway? I think for the athiest, it is more of an issue of not looking arrogant and conceited. While the believer praises God, the athiest feels uncomfortable praising himself, especially out loud, so he stays quiet.

So, athiests congratulate yourselves (quietly or from the rooftops) and believers congratulate the Lord (quietly or from the rooftops)! Very simple.

  6. It is BARILLA pasta not Brilla!

  7. I agree with the undercurrent of anger. I'm there too. Had plenty of friends in college and beyond but now can't hold my beliefs open at all.

And mr. atheist, are you kidding? Since when. I think you have a vivid imagination -- like someone even cared about your believing as an atheist. :-)
