"Re-instituting Slavery" While Killing America

"Obamacare is the worst thing that's happened to this nation since slavery," Dr. Ben Carson said this past weekend.

Former professor of Oncology and director of pediatric neuro-surgery at Johns Hopkins University, Carson told the Values Summit meeting this weekend that Obamacare "is slavery in a way because it's making us subservient to the government." And "it was never about health care; its about control."

Carson, an African American and committed Christian, said of our current cultural state, "The only way to be free is to be brave."

The doctor also drew a parallel between Obamacare and socialized medicine, underlining the importance of Obamacare and government controlled healthcare to the radical left's agenda for America.

His words reminded me of Patrick Henry's famous statement, "When a nation forgets God, tyrants forge their chains."

As America continues to stagger down a path of stripping God from our public life, tyrants are indeed forging our chains.

And the new "truth" of so-called tolerance linked to political correctness is choking our culture.

Bill O'Reilly has sold millions of books with the "Killing" titles---"Killing Kennedy," "Killing Lincoln" and now "Killing Jesus".

Perhaps an equally poignant title could be, "Killing America."

Dr. Carson drew a parallel between Obamacare and socialism noting that government controlled medicine is an important building block for socialism. He also noted that what we are seeing is directly from the Saul Alinsky playbook.

And now the IRS is auditing him.

Dr. Carson told those attending the Values Summit he believes Obamacare "was never about healthcare, but about control." He said it is about making America "subservient to the government."

Appearing on Fox's "The Kelly File" this past week he said there is a parallel between Obamacare and Vladimer Lenin's support for government run healthcare---"It is keystone to the establishment of the socialist state."

He said some people are suggesting he is paranoid. "So this is---this is---you know, some people have said, oh, come on, you're being paranoid. How could anybody not bring up something like that? I would say, if you know anything about history, how could you not bring it up?"

He said, "And that's the problem."

"It's all about control."

Kelly raised the question of his recent audit by the IRS. Following a highly visible speech earlier this year in which he strongly criticized Obamacare, he was contacted by the IRS and an audit was initiated.

He told Kelly, “Well, you know, it's not terribly surprising because if you read Rules for Radicals [by Saul Alinsky] it talks about the need to ridicule. It also talks about never having a real conversation with your adversary because that humanizes them and your job is the demonize them. Therefore, we see people saying about those who oppose Obamacare, for instance, that they want older people to die. They want kids to be deprived of food.”

“You know, all these things are just straight out of the text,” said Carson. “What's interesting is, you know, Vladimir Lenin, one of the founders of socialism and communism. He said socialized medicine is the keystone of the arch to the socialist state. In other words, you've got to get the socialized medicine as the foundation because it gives you control of the people.”

CNS News notes that when Lenin and the Bolsheviks took over Russia in 1917-18, health care became a government-run operation. Today, despite the collapse of communism in Russia in 1991, the life expectancy for Russian males is 63 years and females, 75 years, according to the World Health Organization. In the United States, average life expectancy for males is 76 years, and females, 81 years.

Senator Mike Lee, R-Utah, who along with Senator Ted Cruz has led the effort to defund Obamacare, agrees with Dr. Carson.

He said this weekend, " "The very best argument against Obamacare is the president's conduct during the first ten days of this shutdown." He said, "I mean, look what's happened. The president is using the vast, immense power of the federal government to hurt the American people -- why? In order to win a political argument."

Lee was making reference, of course, to the several ways the administration has made the veterans "feel" the so-called government shut down.

He asked, "What happens then, when we turn over some of the most private, intimate decisions in our lives -- our health care system -- to the government. When will that be used as a tool against us?

There is an all out assault on our freedom in America, and I personally believe people are beginning to awaken to what is really at stake.

The veterans storming the WW II and other memorials in Washington DC yesterday is indicative of the growing push-back to an administration that is resolved to "remake" America, using any thing or anyone they feel can give them political advantage.

I agree, to protect our God given freedoms in America we must be brave. There is much criticism of those who stand for our founding principles of freedom.

There is equally a great deal of criticism toward those who seek true, biblical freedom in Jesus Christ.

What is true freedom? Jesus spoke of a deeper freedom.

I'll be talking about both personal and cultural freedom on the radio this morning, live at 9 AM PDT. You can listen from any where in the world. Here's how

Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Informed. Be Brave. Be Prayerful. Be Blessed.
