Presbyterian (USA) And Planned Parenthood United In Deception

Tuesday evening America's largest Presbyterian denomination voted to redefine Truth, by redefining the church's belief on homosexuality and marriage.

Yesterday Planned Parenthood announced a new feature page on their web site, explaining "Sometimes a person's sexual orientation changes over time..."

The Presbyterian Church explained to its 10,000 churches and 1.8 million members that homosexuals can't change, they're born that way, therefore the right thing to do is to abort the Bible and embrace the facts about this lifestyle. This, they explained, is an act of compassion toward those who do not feel fully accepted.

Planned Parenthood is making their best effort to explain that people are born that way---but they also change.

Their new web page, "All About LGBTQ At A Glance" explains, " Sometimes a person's sexual orientation changes over time, but people can't choose or decide to change who they're attracted to."

They are born that way, but they are also not born that way.

The site says, " It can take years for people to understand their sexual orientation, and it can change over your lifetime---so a lot of people call themselves 'questioning', which means they aren't sure about their sexual orientation and/or gender identity."

"This is common," they say, "especially for teens."

This is why the indoctrination by homosexual activists is so intense in our government run schools and universities.

If Planned Parenthood and the homosexual advocacy groups really believe people "can change over time," and they do---this is why the advocacy toward the children is so intense, why then do they so adamantly and now legally oppose faith based ministries who present biblical counseling and spiritual restoration as an alternative to that lifestyle?

The basis of their opposition, some of which is now becoming "anti-bullying" laws, is based on the premise that they "are born that way."

The Presbyterian Church has abandoned both the teaching of John Calvin and more importantly the Bible for essentially the same reason---"Born That Way."

While that makes for a slick bumper sticker or a sign at a "rights" rally, it isn't the truth.

And now we know they know it.

Why doesn't the Presbyterian Church and other denominations who are sliding down the same slippery slope know it?

Tuesday evening the Presbyterian Church (USA) voted to abandon their biblical beliefs on sexuality and marriage in favor of a belief that more closely reflects the needs of the culture.

The redefinition of "truth" was endorsed last year, but needed approval from a majority of the 171 presbyteries. They received the needed "86th" vote Tuesday evening.

I have followed this process in the Presbyterian Church and those who are following them---the United Methodist, Episcopal, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and others and see a common thread of thinking.

There is, in my opinion, a belief by some that if they conform to the current cultural norms, they will reach more people, which sort of, in their compromised thinking, echoes the Great Commission.

Justification for this decision Tuesday evening was reflected by Kally Elliot, a University of Tennessee campus minister, who said, "We have a lot of students who come into our campus ministry with their story being one of hurt and shame given by the church. Our goal is to share with them the love of Jesus Christ and to let them know that they are fully loved, fully welcomed as they are, who they are."

While this may be a sincere belief, it is contrary to what Jesus taught about His Love.

His love is a transforming love. A redeeming love that forgives sins and restores the sinners.

To the degree that sin is minimized, the cross of Christ is marginalized. And so is His Church.

Others within the church are immersed in the homosexual lifestyle and are unwilling to even consider changing their lifestyle, but are committed to conforming the church, the Bible and whatever else is necessary to affirm that lifestyle.

Secular progressives and homosexual activists rejoiced yesterday as this became news. Think Progress, a secular progressive publication, quoted someone from within the Church who said, "Now we can bring our whole selves to church."

All of us need redemption, but affirming and celebrating our sins is not redemption, nor does it provide wholeness.

Carmen Fowler LaBerge, president of the conservative Presbyterian Lay Committee, says this action "is surrendering to social norms. Any prophetic voice that the denomination may have once had to speak truth and call people to repentance is now lost."

LaBerge says all the church can do now "is echo the voices of the world for it has abandoned the clarion call to bear faithful witness to the God who has clearly spoken on this matter."

Here is the irony in the deception:

While the church claims to be reaching out in God's love and compassion to those who are "born that way" by affirming and celebrating through "marriage" a behavior God does not condone nor celebrate, Planned Parenthood is explaining that people are really not born that way, but need a lifetime to think about it---and be indoctrinated.

In a twisted way, Planned Parenthood is advocating "transformation," while the church is merely an echo of the world culture, under the pretense of "God's love."

"Be not conformed to this world," Paul wrote, "but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

What are we thinking? God help us.

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Blessed.

  1. The evil one is rejoicing with this "new revelation". The road to Hell is paved with good intentions and that road is getting wider.

  2. The only positive is that local, churches will,be allowed to decline this mandre based on their convictions. The,small, church, in Hunters, Wa,,eastside of the state will not be participating.

  3. The mandate includes the option for local churches to refuse this "new revelation." The small church in Hunters, Wa,will not be participating on any level. Yes, "the road to hell."

  4. The beginning of the slippery slope starts by ordaining women. All of the compromised denominations have this in common.

Paul warned about this and also said why:

Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner 1 Tim 2:14

He also expressed his fear in his letter to the Corinthians:

“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough” 2 Cor. 11:3

Yes we put up with it easily enough.

A slippery slope of deception that leads directly to the pit of hell.

    Ordain women
    Accept evolution
    Accept Homosexuality
    Accept abortion
    Welcome to hell.

    1. The Lord welcomed the sinner but did not pass over sin. "Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." John 8:11

    2. I believe there may be a few women that may be ordained when they definitely have a ministry recognized by God, with the word, the fruit, as well as the signs, but to ordain women because they are women, or because we think there should be as many ordained women as men, is a fall, a definite fall.

    3. If that picture is all that it looks like, the minister should be defrocked.

  5. The Lord welcomed the sinner but did not pass over sin. "Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.: John 8:11

  6. The Devil did some "explainin'" about some fruit as I recall. It didn't work out so good. It kept man at a distance from God, causing a separation, of sorts.

  7. Our authorized interpreter is the Holy Spirit.

  8. It seems they now want their fallen nature to rejoice at church....but how will it?

God is still looking for something that was lost at the fall...his worshipers...the ones who are to worship him in spirit and truth.

How can we have good thoughts about ourselves if we deny that something of us fell into sin if indeed it has? Such thoughts that deny the truth are not good thoughts.

Deceiving ourselves is not good. May God save our souls by Jesus Christ.

  9. Jesus came into this world and loved, but he didn't redefine marriage. Rather, he affirmed it as God ordained it.

Redefining marriage is not loving God.

  10. Eph 5:31,32
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh,
This is a great mystery; but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

    I Tim 3:8,9
    Likewise must the deacons be grace, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
Holding the mystery of the faith in pure conscience.

    I Cor 4:1,2
Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

  11. Is it possible to redefine marriage without redefining loving God?

Redefining Christ is not the way to go.

Redefining anything in the scripture is a downward spiral, the only answer being the grace of God and repentance, through Jesus Christ, God's answer for sin.
