Mike Huckabee told the crowd and the press in Kentucky yesterday, if he could, he would go to jail in Davis' place.

As he and Ted Cruz met with Christians outside the detention center, the judge ordered Davis released from jail.

Davis, a relatively new Christian, had a message for the crowd. And for all of us.

As "Eye of the Tiger" blared over the loud speakers, Mike Huckabee introduced Kim Davis.

Minutes after being released from jail, she told those gathered, "I just want to give God the glory because His people have rallied. And you are a strong people."

She said, "We serve a living God who knows exactly where each and every one of us are at."

Davis encouraged the crowd, and Christians across the country who would hear her on the evening news "Keep pressing on. Don't let down. Because He is here and He is worthy."

Huckabee emphasized her plea, asking, "Who's next? Your pastor, the head of a school? Will you be ready to take the stand even at expense to your self?"

The judge said the rally was not the reason he released her. "The reason," he said, is because "her office is fulfilling its duty" by now issuing same-sex "marriage" licenses.

Davis' lawyer Matt Staver told NBC, "Nothing has been resolved." He said, "We're back to square one."

Staver said, "She told the court Thursday that she can't allow licenses to go out under her name and her authority that authorizes a marriage that collides with her conscience and religious conviction, and Kim has not changed that position."

NBC reports that two other clerks in Kentucky---Casey Davis in Casey County, and Kay Schwartz in Whitley County---are also refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples based on the same religious -freedom argument." (Casey Davis is no relation to Kim Davis.)

The network says "those refusing to issue licenses have not been subject to any legal challenges, so have not been threatened with jail."

At least not yet.

Huckabee said he is not only willing to go to jail himself, but "I'm not willing to spend one day under the tyranny of people that believe they can take our freedom away."

I am reminded of the passion of our Founding Fathers as they escaped the grip of tyranny, defied the king of England and declared their independence from the tyranny.

One of our founders, Patrick Henry, famously reminded his colleagues---and in doing so, reminds us: "When people forget God, tyrants forge their chains."

The clang of the forging hammer upon the chains is serving as an alarm in our times---an awakening, a remembrance is beginning to take place.

In the words of a new Christian, who by her own testimony was once desperately lost, but now is found;

"Keep pressing on. Don't let down. Because He is worthy."

Indeed He is.

This matter will continue as more and more Christians take a stand for righteousness, refusing to bow or bend in their biblical beliefs about marriage and human sexuality.

Be Faithful. Be Strong. Be Vigilant. Be Prayerful.
