PP and the Big Lie(s)

Planned Parenthood's President Cecile Richards has had a bad week.

While PP supporters held "pink out" rallies around the country, Ms. Richards admitted under oath that Planned Parenthood does not actually have any mammogram machines---in any of their clinics---after she and the president have led the American public to believe they do have them.

Ms. Richards and President Obama have repeatedly led the public to believe PP did mammograms.

The more the light is turned on PP, the more disturbing they become---to those who are pro-life.

However, a new poll reveals the leaders of PP and their allies have apparently been successful in deceiving the public.

MRC TV reports that on March 31, 2011, Ms. Richards told Joy Behar on her show which airs on Head Line News that if the Republicans cut the $350 million Planned Parenthood was receiving at that time, it would deny women access to services such as mammograms.

She said "if this bill...ever becomes law, millions of women in this country are going to lose their health care access. Not to abortion services, to basic family planning, mammograms, cancer screening..."

President Obama has also misled the American people on this matter.

In 2012, the Tampa Bay Times addressed this same issue, quoting the president during the 2012 Presidential Debates, specifically the one held October 17, 2012.

In that debate President Obama said: "When Gov. Romney says that we should eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood, there are millions of women all across the country who rely on Planned Parenthood for not just contraceptive care...they rely on it for mammograms, cervical screenings..."

Pinned down under oath, Ms. Richards explains that PP doesn't have any mammogram machines. The truth is that PP refers women to clinics that do have the machines.

Does anyone think that after misleading the public to believe PP had the machines, all the time being challenged by both pro-life and pro-abortion groups and news organizations, that we will now believe it was simply a misunderstanding by an uninformed public?

Yes. Cecile Richards thinks that. So does Hillary Clinton...and President Obama, and a host of other unfailing supporters of the nation's largest abortion business.

And apparently they're right.

When the videos of PP discussing selling baby body parts became public, PP and its allies attacked the pro-life group who took the videos, demanding they---not PP, be investigated.

In light of all this, a Wall Street Journal/NBC poll out this week shows 61% of Americans oppose eliminating federal funding for Planned Parenthood.

The WSJ says, "Planned Parenthood's standing in the public eye has not been diminished despite months of concerted attacks by Republicans."

New York Magazine ran this headline: "Guess What? America Loves Planned Parenthood."

USA Today reported on another poll on the same issue. The USA Today/Suffolk University Poll finds "Some congressional Republicans remain determined to cut off federal funding for Planned Parenthood, but a nationwide poll finds Americans back government support for the group by more than 2-1."

They say 65% of those surveyed say federal funding should continue to go to the abortion organization.

Is this high level of support enhanced by the fact that the question is directly linked to shutting down the government?

Or do more than 6 in 10 actually support Planned Parenthood? Frankly I doubt that.

Ironically, the responses are influenced to some degree by 2, not one lie.

The first is the misrepresentation of what Planned Parenthood actually does.

The other is the notion that our government would actually be "shut down." It wouldn't, and most "public servants," otherwise known as politicians, know it. So does the media---but the idea sounds ominous to the public.

In review of the Congressional hearings on Planned Parenthood this week, a couple of things have become clear from testimony given under oath.

  • Planned Parenthood has $127 million revenue in excess of annual expenses.
  • PP received $528 million in government health services grants and reimbursements, or 41% of its total revenue for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2014.
  • PP gave its president Cecile Richards $523,000 in annual compensation. A $240,000 increase over the last 5 years.
  • PP President Cecile Richards does not go to PP clinics for her own health care.
  • PP has aborted more than 6 million babies.

CNS News has done the numbers. Based on PP's own reports, they did 327,653 abortions in 2014 fiscal year (June 2013 to June 2014).

That works out to an average of 37 abortions per hour or nearly 1 every 90 seconds.

Let's set aside an hour to pray and consider whether avoiding a so-called government shut down---that isn't really a government shut down---is more important than tax payers continuing to fund America's largest abortion company.

And keep in mind, while you are thinking and praying over the next 60 minutes, 37 more babies will be killed, about half of which will be girls.

There is a war on women, but it isn't being waged by Christians and conservatives.

God help us, and deliver us from this great deception.

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Bold. Be Pro-Active. Be Prayerful.
