Obama Declares US Now Transformed Into World Leader

From the White House Saturday night, our president told America and the world, "In the past seven years, we have transformed the United States into a global leader."

Most thought the United States "was" a global leader prior to Barack Obama's presidency.

The president declared, "Our strong principled American leadership" has now "assured that we'll leave to our children a world that is safer and more prosperous and more free."

Boy, that takes a load off the average American mind, doesn't it?

If this leadership on climate is so "principled," why did billionaire George Kaiser make hundreds of millions of dollars off the bankruptcy of Solyndra--walking away with $500 million in taxpayer money after the bankruptcy---because of Obama's backing with our taxpayer money?

And why is Kaiser now raising money for Hillary as lately as this past Friday night?

"That," the president said, "is our most important mission in our short time here on earth."

"In the past seven years," he said, "we've transformed the United States into a global leader in fighting climate change."

Climate change?

That's right. The president, candidates Hllary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and other far left progressives say climate change, a.k.a. global warming, is the greatest, most pressing challenge we face in the world today.

Forget terrorists and the economy.

While the president said his climate agreement with "nearly 200 countries" (actually 195), "will not 'solve' climate change," it will "leave our children more prosperous and more free."

While most of would agree that "leaving a safer and more prosperous world to our children is very important," most Americans do not agree that his "deal" with 195 countries achieves anything close to more freedom or prosperity---except for those in whom the government will invest taxpayer money.

In fact, the 31-page draft of his agreement reveals something that is contradictory to both freedom and prosperity for the average citizens.

It is a massive, enforced transfer of wealth.

Americans have led the world for generations in charity and humanitarian help to the world, because the American people are principled, biblically principled, and generous. And compassionate.

Out of our abundance, we have and do give. Those are our principles.

The "principled leadership" President Obama speaks of is not that. It's nothing like that.

His deal will not cause us or our children to be more free or prosperous.

His "deal" with the world on so-called "climate" is not unlike his nuke "deal" with Iran on so-called peace and security.

The "deal" calls for the developed nations of the world (we would be first on the list) to transfer wealth to developing nations, including through "public funds."

Article 9 of the draft says, "As part of a global effort, developed country Parties should continue to take the lead in mobilizing climate finance from a wide variety of sources, instruments and channels, noting the significant role of public funds."

The agreement at one point says: "Resolves to enhance the provision of urgent and adequate finance, technology and capacity-building support by developed country Parties in order to enhance the level of ambition of pre-2020 action by Parties..."

Translation: "We agree to dole out a $100 billion before 2020. Much of which will go to corrupt 3rd rate dictators and bullies---and far left entrepreneurs like the Solyndra folks. And there is great urgency in our doing so in order to save the world.

Last Thursday, the Washington Times ran this headline: "Hillary Clinton's Billionaire Fundraiser Host Got Sweet Deal In Solyndra."

The Times says, "Hillary's claim that she is not beholden to her wealthy donors will come under renewed scrutiny Friday when the Democratic frontrunner raises fresh cash for her presidential bid in the home of George Kaiser, a billionaire whose firm was the biggest investor in the troubled Solyndra stimulus project---and who managed to walk away with a lucrative profit at the expense of the tax payers."

The Times reveals that Kaiser also "was a major campaign bundler and fundraiser for Barack Obama and a frequent visitor to the White House.

Kaiser was also the founder of Argonaut Private Equity, the largest private investor in Solyndra. They received more than $530 million in federally backed loans under Obama's ill conceived $787 billion stimulus plan.

Despite Solyndra's bankruptcy, Argonaut walked away with US government guaranteed (taxpayers) benefit from millions of future tax breaks.

The arrangement also allowed Argonaut to use Solyndra's "net operating losses" to reduce its own future taxable income. The US Treasury was left holding the tab for nearly the entire $535 million original loan.

The terms were so generous that Congressional Republicans wanted to take a closer look to learn why Mr. Kaiser had been given such a sweetheart deal.

Since the collapse of Solyndra, the public has learned Kaiser and others simply lied to the government about the numbers.

In August, the Energy Department filed a report by the inspector general that found Solyndra misled investors, including the government, and that the government failed to ask the right questions.

"In our view," the government report says, "the investigative record suggests that the actions of certain Solyndra officials were, at best, reckless and irresponsible or, at worst, an orchestrated effort to knowingly and intentionally deceive and mislead the department."

Friday night Mr. Kaiser sponsored a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton in his home. Here we go again.

Thankfully, a majority of Americans will not support this deal, because we all can see that the president's vision of leadership is very suspect.

A majority of Americans prefer to give when they feel inclined to do so, and to whom they want.

Distribution of wealth may be an Obama principle, but it is not one of most American citizens.

Interestingly, 90% of Republicans do not believe climate warming is being caused by human activities.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said this weekend that the president is "making promises he can't keep, writing checks he can't cash, and stepping over the middle class to take credit for an 'agreement' that is subject to be shredded in 13 months."

This and other Obama Principles of Leadership will indeed be shrewd---if...

Eleven months from today, America will have chosen our next president.

God help us.
