Bald Eagle Caught In Car's Grill--Rescued Just In Time

Officials in Florida are reporting that a bald eagle, the national bird of the United States, got stuck "in a precarious position"---in the grill of a car.

The driver was unaware of the crises.

Another driver saw the eagle in the "precarious position," alerted the driver, and the eagle was rescued just in time to save its life.

The picture illustrates a greater truth, and it's worth a thousand words.

Local news first reported on the eagle, then CNN reported it nationally.

As Hurricane Matthew passed through northern Florida, the 911 operator was surprised to get a call explaining that an eagle was caught in the grill of a car.

Another driver noticed the eagle, thinking at first it was a prop, then seeing it move its head, realized it was a real eagle and chased down the other unaware driver.

Authorities pulled the eagle from the grill of the car, handed it over to the Bird Emergency Aid and Kare Society (BEAKS) who named the eagle "Matthew" after the hurricane that had just passed through the area.

BEAKS is reporting Matthew is "standing up and alert."

"We'll check him out," they said yesterday, "and let him go."

The characteristics of the bald eagle are impressive and unique.

Eagles regularly soar above 10,000 feet altitude and have been spotted by pilots as high as 30,000 feet. They use thermal conditions to rise. They will often catch the updrafts caused by storms to reach these heights. They don't reach these heights using their own strength---they use their natural gifts and instincts---and the air turbulence, therefore avoiding exhaustion---it has been said, "The eagle can fly forever."

Eagles have eyelids that close during sleep, but for blinking, they also have an inner eyelid called a nictitating membrane. Every three or four seconds, the membrane slides across the eye from front to back, wiping dirt and dust from the cornea. Because the membrane is translucent, the eagle can see even while the lid is over the eye.

Eagles can identify a rabbit moving a mile away. At 1000 feet altitude they can survey almost 3 square miles.

However, eagles occasionally attack objects like floating plastic bottles---they make mistakes. But experts say it is the young eagles who make such mistakes, not the older, mature ones.

Eagles can dive through the air at 75 miles an hour. When needed they can swim while landing a fish.

It's no wonder our Founding Fathers chose the eagle as a symbol of America.

Shortly after the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress gave Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams the task of designing an official seal for the new nation.

However, the three Founding Fathers failed to come up with a design that Congress would approve. Two more committees were chosen, with the same result.

In mid-June 1782, the task was handed over to Charles Thompson, the secretary of Congress. Thompson took the best elements of the previous work, making the bald eagle the prominent image.

It was approved.

Interestingly, Rome also used the eagle as a national symbol of strength. Over time, Rome began making bad choices---mistakes---diving at break neck speed for floating plastic bottles. When the storms came, the empire crumbled because their foundations had been compromised. Their identity had been prostituted.

Rome collapsed with a whimper, rather than a bang.

Rome died in the grill of an oncoming vehicle---one of its own making.

With the advent of cultural Marxism and the secular progressive warriors embedding themselves in our American institutions---particularly public education---we have created an alternative reality, one that isn't real at all.

Political correctness, in the hands of the progressive, is inverting virtues such as tolerance, diversity, and inclusiveness into battering rams to remake America---attempting to transform this great nation from that of an eagle to that of a parrot---no longer drawing from the wisdom of the ages as did our Founders, but from the failed ideologies of Karl Marx and Fredich Engles.

It was Marx who said, "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of the soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people."

Our current political leaders parrot this message as they deliberately undermine the very religious freedoms our Founding Fathers recognized as "God-given"---to be "protected" not "bestowed" by the government they created.

Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the far Left progressives parrot the ideas of Marx and Engels as though they are new and progressive, when in fact, they are old and failed. And destructive.

They have flown the eagle into the grill of the oncoming car speeding out of control toward oblivion.

They are diving for plastic bottles.

Karl Marx said, "Democracy is the road to socialism." Bernie Sanders traveled the country parroting Marx's line as though it was new and progressive. The millennial generation believed the lie.

Had he been treated fairly by his own Party, he may have beaten Hillary for the prize of the Democrat Party.

Bernie was diving for plastic bottles.

American leadership, in recent years, has also been diving for plastic bottles, somehow believing they were the prize when in fact, they are refuse from a failed society.

The eagle, the symbol of America's greatness, is caught in the grill of the speeding secular progressive, who is driving on the wrong side of the road, headed for extinction.

The great American eagle is still alive, hoping there will be those who rescue him from certain death.

The rescue attempt happens on November 8, 2016. You're are cordially invited to participate.

And to those who see their Christian faith as more than "an opiate":

"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40: 31).

These are stormy times for our country. Catch the updraft. Be involved, be vigilant, be informed---rise above it, run and walk without becoming weary.

America was founded to be an eagle, not a parrot.

This is our time to help rescue the eagle.

And for those of you who are experiencing your own private hurricane...your own "precarious position."

Wait, and see God renew your strength. You will rise above the storm, not in your own strength, but in His.

The storm actually gives rise to your life and God's purpose for your life.

You will run. You will walk. And you will not grow weary. You will rise above the storm because God made you to do so. That is your identity as a Christian.

God will use the strength of the storm to cause you to soar.

You will rise, but not in your own strength, it will be in the strength of your Creator--- in the face of what seems to be destructive forces.

Take a deep breath. Relax. Spread your wings. Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

The Lord will restore your soul in the presence of your enemies.

Be Blessed. And God bless America.
