President Trump: "In America We Don't Worship Government, We Worship God"

Saturday, President Trump, in his first commencement speech as president, told tens of thousands of students and families at Liberty University, "In America, we don't worship government, we worship God," echoing the beliefs of our Founding Fathers and a vast majority of Americans today.

Within minutes of his uttering those words, the secular, so-called "progressive" Left, exploded on social media and anywhere they could find a microphone or camera---mocking and ridiculing him for his beliefs.

President Trump says an announcement of a nominee to head up the FBI may come this week.

“You are about to begin the greatest adventure of your life,” said President Trump who remarked how blessed the graduates are.

Ask yourself, with all of those blessings and all of the blessings that you have been given, what will you give back to this country and indeed to the world, what imprint will you leave in the sands of history? What will future Americans say we did in our brief time right here on earth. Did we take risks? Did we dare to defy expectations? Did we challenge accepted wisdom and take on established systems? I think I did, but we all did and we’re all doing it. Or did we just go along with convention, swim downstream, so easily with the current and just give in because it was the easy way, it was the traditional way or it was the accepted way? Remember this: nothing worth doing ever, ever, ever came easy. Following your convictions means you must be willing to face criticism from those that lack the same courage to do what is right and they know what is right but they don’t have the same courage or guts or stamina to take it and to do it. It’s called the road less traveled.

Trump said that he knows each graduate will be “a warrior for the truth,” “a warrior for our country and for your family.” He encouraged them that they will do what is right even when it isn’t easy, “You will be true to yourself, your family, your beliefs.”

The president said of his short time in Washington, "I've seen firsthand how the system is broken. A small group of failed voices who think they know everything and understand everyone want to tell everybody else how to live and what to do and how to think, but you aren't going to let other people tell you what you believe, especially when you know you're right."

He said, "We don't need a lecture from Washington on how to lead our lives."

"America has always been a land of dreams because America is a nation of true believers," he told the graduates and families as he reminded them of the pilgrim's landing at Plymouth.

He commented that the pilgrims prayed and later, "America's Founding Fathers invoked Creator God four times in the Declaration of Independence."

Then he said,

"Because in America we don't worship government, we worship God."

Social media exploded with "the failed voices of those who think they know everything..."

President Trump was mocked by some because of his past moral failures and ridiculed by others for attempting to "blur the lines" between government and religion.

While some shouted from the house top that they do not believe in God and Trump cannot force them to do so, others began tweeting.

Steve Harrigan@CNN tweeted, "There is literally nothing about Trump's life that reflects belief in or worship of God."

The ACLU National posted, "Our freedom of religion is not #LicensetoDiscriminate@POTUS, we will see you in court again."

And then it got nasty.

If anything, this affirms some of the president's comments. America was not founded, nor was our freedom declared on the sterling character of the Founders or those who would follow---we were founded on the unchanging principles and eternal values of Almighty God---not the lives of the Founders. This is the distinction that makes America one of a kind in the history of the world.

All other nations have been founded upon bloodlines, ancient boundaries or the imposition of kings, despots or dictators.

America---only America--- was founded on Judeo-Christian Truth. The Truth of the Bible. Our freedom was declared to be from God, not government.

The failed voices of secularism, humanism, socialism and atheism always oppose these foundations. And in every case where they have gained control of a nation, that nation has miserably failed.

That is why America is exceptional. Not because we are perfect, but because our Founders recognized the fallen state of man and created a government to serve the people under God, rather than a government to be served by the people.

The freedoms that this nation represents are never seen more clearly than when those very freedoms protect the "voices" that try to destroy the basis of the freedoms they exercise.

The president told the students and audience: "No one has ever achieved anything significant without a chorus of critics standing on the sidelines explaining why it can't be done. Nothing is easier or more pathetic than being a critic because they're people who can't get the job done."

This weekend there was a brutal "chorus of criticism," which continues today, that a President of the United States would dare say, " In America, we don't worship government, we worship God."

In that spirit, President Trump concluded:

"Whether we are brown, black, or white, we all bleed the same red of patriots, we all salute the same great American flag and we are all made by the same almighty God. As long as you remember what you have learned here at Liberty, as long as you have pride in your beliefs, courage in your convictions, and faith in your God, then you will not fail. And as long as America remains true to its values, loyal to its citizens, and devoted to its Creator then our best days are yet to come, I can promise you that."

I'm reminded of the Scripture our Founders chose to inscribe on the Liberty Bell.

Leviticus 25:10: "Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof."

That is exactly what the president did Saturday at the largest Christian school in America---Liberty University---and within hours his message was being carried "throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof"---ironically, by the very people who most hate the president and the message.

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Diligent. Be Prayerful. Be Bold.

  1. If we will not lead others to God, we will tend to lead them to ourselves, and we are nothing compared to him. We are nothing at all, apart from God. There is nothing good in us, apart from God.

  2. I thank God for president Donald Trump.

  3. Excellent. Thank you.

  4. My prayer is that America...."ALL OF AMERICA" will hear this speech and that ALL of us who worship the one true GOD and who honor "TRUTH" will stand tall and boldly "CHEERING" that our President has correctly and courageously identified what is needed to heal America.

How can a man with what appears to be a godless background choose to make such a stand, knowing it will enrage people against him even more than before? The "HOW" is our Lord's Holy Spirit and we should all be thankful in prayer for this sign the He is with us and walking before us.

We can all stand boldly and proclaim the truth President Trump proclaimed, or we can sink back in our self-satisfied "saved" state, avoid hardship and conflict, hiding from confrontation that comes from speaking truth to evil, and waiting for Jesus to come take us home to the perfect eternity we have been promised by His sacrifice and rebirth!.

So long as God's people continue to choose the latter option, evil will continue to prevail, grow, and destroy the innocent in our midst. If we ease our consciences by glibly proclaiming "God is in control" as we do nothing...sacrifice nothing; what we should honestly realize is that we are actually saying 'What ever happens as I hide and do nothing, it is God's fault...not mine!

Will we stand with our President, or will we rationalize and cower?

If the Holy Spirit can cause President Trump to stand, what more can He cause us to do?

We have been given free will for a reason.

HIS blessings and courage to all,

  5. Prov 28:1
The wicked man flees though no one pursues,
but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

    2 Cor 10:1-6
10:1 By the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you-I, Paul, who am "timid" when face to face with you, but "bold" when away! 2 I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world. 3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

    Acts 14:1-7
14:1 At Iconium Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue. There they spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Gentiles believed. 2 But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. 3 So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders. 4 The people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, others with the apostles. 5 There was a plot afoot among the Gentiles and Jews, together with their leaders, to mistreat them and stone them. 6 But they found out about it and fled to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding country, 7 where they continued to preach the good news.
