DHS: " NBC Continues To Falsely Report" On Russian Hacking

NBC reports that "the US official in charge of protecting American elections from hacking says the Russians successfully penetrated the voter registration rolls of several US states prior to the 2016 presidential election."

The US official in charge says "NBC continues to falsely report on Russian hacking, misrepresenting facts to confuse the public."

This, of course, in the run-up to the 2018 elections, which the media and the far Left are desperate to win.

Who do we believe? Here's a closer look.

NBC is relentlessly reporting that the Department of Home Land Security is reporting that "Russians targeted '21 states' voter registration rolls during the 2016 election."

"Of those," they report, "a 'small number' were successfully penetrated, according to a Homeland Security Department official tasked with protecting elections from hacking threats."

The "official" they are talking about is Jeanette Manfra, National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) Assistant Secretary for the Office of Cybersecurity and Communications.

While NBC periodically says "there is no evidence that any states' voter registration rolls were tampered with," their implicit message is that Russia influenced the 2016 election---because they may have tried to do so---because that's the way NBC and other news organizations want it to be.

Jeanette Manfra is having none of it.

Manfra says in no uncertain terms:

“First off, let me be clear: we have no evidence – old or new - that any votes in the 2016 elections were manipulated by Russian hackers.
“NBC News continues to falsely report my recent comments on attempted election hacking – which clearly mirror my testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee last summer – as some kind of “breaking news,” incorrectly claiming a shift in the administration’s position on cyber threats.
“As I said eight months ago, a number of states were the target of Russian government cyber actors seeking vulnerabilities and access to U.S. election infrastructure. In the majority of cases, only preparatory activity like scanning was observed, while in a small number of cases, actors were able to access the system but we have no evidence votes were changed or otherwise impacted.”

And she said, "NBC’s irresponsible reporting, which is being roundly criticized elsewhere in the media and by security experts alike, undermines the ability of the Department of Homeland Security, our partners at the Election Assistance Commission, and state and local officials across the nation to do our incredibly important jobs. While we’ll continue our part to educate NBC and others on the threat, more importantly, the Department of Homeland Security and our state and local partners will continue our mission to secure the nation’s election systems."

All elections are important to a free society. And all citizens have a responsibility to vote.

And we all want to believe our elections reflect the will of "We the People."

The 2018 elections are of particular importance because record amounts of money is already being spent to put the far Left in the majority---particularly in Congress.

And the Left is laser-focused in their effort to undermine the presidency of President Trump and ultimately defeat him in 2020.

Who are we to believe? The government? Or the media? Are the elections rigged?

I'm talking more about this on our live radio program this morning. We are sharing a Scriptural approach to being informed and using discernment regarding these and other important matters.

You may join me live at 9 AM PST, from anywhere in the world on your phone, your computer or on the radio. Here's how.

Consider this: "The simple believes every word, But the prudent considers well his steps" (Proverbs 14:15).

And this: "A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished" (Proverbs 27:12).

Be Informed. Be Discerning. Be Vigilant. Be Prayerful.
