About The "Border Kids"

Jeff Bezos' Left to far Left Washington Post published a featured op-ed by former First Lady Laura Bush last Sunday, in which she expressed heartbreak at the way President Trump is punishing the kids at the border.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama joined Mrs. Bush in scorning the president and the moral crises he has created by saying this: "Sometimes truth transcends party."

Former First Lady Hillary Clinton has also joined them, of course---but her outrage is wrapped up in a fundraising letter---"Never let a crises go to waste," is a Clinton motto.

What is the "truth" about the border kids?

A closer look.

Laura Bush's op-ed began with, "On Sunday, a day we as a nation set aside to honor our fathers and the bonds of family, I was among millions of Americans who watched images of children who have been torn from their parents." And this, "The Department of Homeland Security has sent nearly 2000 children to mass detention centers...More than 100 of these children are younger than 4 years old."

She says that Trump's border policies are creating health problems for these kids later in life, what he is doing is much like the Japanese internment camps--"one of the most shameful episodes in U.S. history."

She says, "Americans pride themselves on being a moral nation."

Michelle Obama immediately agreed on Twitter with this: "Sometimes Truth Transcends Party."

Hillary Clinton joined the chorus as well, writing, "What's happening at the border right now is horrific: Nursing infants ripped away from their mothers. Parents told their toddlers are being taken away to bathe or play, only to realize hours later they aren't coming back."

"This is a moral and humanitarian crisis," she said and "every human being... should be outraged."

Outrage and Morality

Each of these former First Ladies are pro-abortion---or "pro-choice" as they prefer to call it.

Biblical Christians have got to discern if this is true moral outrage? Both Hillary and Laura reference biblical teaching as the basis for their moral outrage, but neither have ever expressed moral outrage over the 60,069,971 babies who have been ripped from their mother's womb since Roe v Wade---often still alive---but when thought to be dead---thrown into a garbage can, or more recently dissected so the baby's body parts can be sold.

Laura and Michelle are strong advocates of abortion. Hillary has been given Planned Parenthood's most prestigious award for her worldwide advocacy of abortion---the Margaret Sanger Award---named for PP's racist founder who advocated eugenics as a birth control policy---particularly of those "deplorables" who did not contribute to society. Specifically the black community.

Concerned Women for America (CWA) has published an in-depth article about the "Negro Project," Sanger and her beliefs.

Hypocrisy.

The Bible says, "I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live" (Deuteronomy 30:19 NKJV).

Any human being is touched by what's going on with the kids at the border. And we must solve it.

But if we really want "the transcending truth" that Mrs. Obama claims she wants, we've got to move beyond selective moral outrage.

Did Trump create this moral crisis with his policies?

Monday, White House Press Secretary Sara Huckabee Sanders was asked by the press about the president's reaction to Laura Bush's op-ed accusing him of driving the child crises at the border.

Sanders said, "Frankly, this law was actually signed into effect in 2008 under her husband's leadership, not under this administration."

It was. It was designed to curb human trafficking.

Michelle's husband, when he was president, blamed President Bush for his own border problems as an influx of unaccompanied kids showed up at the border---similar to what we are seeing now.

President Obama is a globalist who really wants virtually no borders, but he kind of enforced the law anyway. As did President Bush, who is also a globalist lite, but had also enforced his own policy regarding kids at the border.

We are seeing selective "moral outrage" because progressives evolve, truth evolves, and the end justifies means. These folks hate President Trump and want to destroy his presidency.

Kids are being put in cages like animals.

For weeks, the media has referred to the detention facilities where these kids are being held as "cages"---one Democrat Senator called them a "dog kennel."

However, Breitbart News has published a series of rare photos from inside these facilities during the time President Obama was using---yes, these same facilities, to comply with President Bush's immigration policy.

Same facilities. Different president.

In stark contrast to what the media is telling the American public and the world, once these kids are processed, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune---not an oracle of conservatism---says, with pictures and text, "When a child arrives at Casa San Diego, his teacher asks him to teach his new classmates how to say 'good morning' in his native language."

They are immediately given new clothes and a hot meal and a room, which the San Diego newspaper describes as being like a summer camp. Telephones are available and a bell hangs by the door for children to ring when they reunite with their sponsor. The bell is referred to as "the sound of hope" for the kids at the border.

Who are these kids at the border?

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen says the establishment media is publishing a false narrative about these kids that are inundating the border. She says the media's false claims conflate all child border crossers as being taken away from their border crossing parents."

She says, "The vast, vast majority of the 12,000 child border crossers in federal custody were actually sent to the border alone with human smugglers."

That is why the kids are separated. Whether this separation was done by the parents who want to use their kids as a way into the U.S. or by human traffickers our authorities are tasked with finding out.

And some of the "parents" who are with the kids---are discovered to not be their parents.

This puts Hillary's description of "ripping babies from a mother's arms while she is nursing the child" in a more "truthful" perspective.

This is not comprehensive, but it is a snapshot of what is really going on with the kids at the border.

Is there a solution? If so what?

First, to process all this information, much of it false---all of it biased, coming from the establishment media and politicians and their wives, is much like trying to drink from a fire hose.

It's overwhelming the public because many of us have children and most all of us are deeply sympathetic and empathetic toward kids. After all, they are all a gift from God.

I am particularly touched by these kids, most of whom are from Central America. I have spent weeks and months over a period of years in Central America, sometimes living in the pastor's home while we started a new church, helped build a new school or medical clinic---and sometimes in remote corners of the Central American countries, where homes have dirt floors and a person is rich if they own a cow or a goat. Or a Nike shirt---or a pair of worn out Nike shoes.

I loved those people. And still do. We helped build more than 40 churches in Central America. I still remember the smells and sounds---and the people; from Guatemala to Panama. I pray for them often. I remember some of their names.

I remember the President of Guatemala accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and later coming to the church I pastored here in the Northwest to share his testimony in our morning services.

Some who read this will remember that morning as well.

Unfortunately, the media, the secular far Left, the religious Left, most all Democrats and some Republicans see the kids at the border as an opportunity to bring down the presidency of Donald Trump.

They are not really looking for a solution. They are looking for a result.

Speaker Paul Ryan's forthcoming immigration bill is amnesty. Pure and simple. Don't buy it. And ask your Congresspeople not to vote for it.

However, there are some solutions being put forward by people with more pure motives. I think possible solutions to the immediate crises may be coming even this week.

There are people in Congress who are not fully absorbed in their own career or their personal hatred toward Trump---and truly want the best for America and the best for the kids at the border, while protecting our national sovereignty.

Senator Ted Cruz has put forth legislation this week that, given a chance, could be very effective in solving the immediate problem at the border. The details of his legislation proposal are linked above.

Pray for our country. Much hangs in the balance.

Be Informed. Be Vigilant. Be Discerning. Be Prayerful.
